Secondary education decides students' career paths, and teachers at this level play an important role in students' career guidance by assisting them in subject selection and providing career knowledge. Given the importance of teachers in secondary school students' career guidance, the study looked into the role of secondary school teachers in secondary school students' career guidance. The study's goals were to determine the role of teachers in secondary school career guidance and to suggest strategies for secondary school students' career guidance. The study population was 3,247 high-school students from the Swat district, with a sample of 346 students chosen using simple random sampling for data collection. The information was gathered using a self-made questionnaire and evaluated using mean ratings, standard deviation, and the chi-square test. They discovered that teachers play an important role in secondary school career guidance because they serve as role models for students, identify students' career aspirations and abilities, assist in the integration of students' aspirations and potentials, assist in the subject selection, provide career guidance, identify potential careers, and provide career information and requirements. The study also suggested that teachers' capacity for providing career guidance at the secondary level be developed and the inclusion of career guidance subjects at the secondary level.

The study aims to identify the role of teachers in guiding students to use smart phones in their learning process, where the researcher used the descriptive analytical approach, and the questionnaire consists of (25) paragraphs as a tool for collecting study data after verifying its validity and reliability, while the sample was chosen by the researcher from his community consisting of (2401) teachers using the stratified random method, which consisted of (360) teachers, and the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) program was used to analyze the data. The results of the study show that there was a role for teachers in directing public secondary school students affiliated to the Rusifa District to use smart phones in their learning process came in a medium degree, and an arithmetic mean of (3.37). The results also show that there were no statistically significant differences at the significance level (α ≥ 0.05) between the responses of the sample members about the role of teachers in directing public secondary school students affiliated to the Rusifa District to use smart phones in their learning process according to the study variables: Gender, Academic Qualification, and Number of Years of Experience. Based on the results, the researcher recommends: the need for school officials to realize this dangerous phenomenon and work to confront it by giving students homework urging them to use their smart devices for doing it, and guiding and educating teachers and students on the optimal use of mobile phones in the learning process

In spite of numerous initiatives for promoting entrepreneurship in Serbia and the endeavours to encourage young people through education to think as entrepreneurs and start their own business, there are almost no papers in our psychological and educational literature that deal with this topic. Starting from Eisen?s theory of entrepreneurial behaviour as planned and intentional, we conducted a research with the aim of determining the factors which influence the intention of young people in Serbia to choose entrepreneurship as a career option. The focus in the research was on the following factors: personal initiative, entrepreneurial experience (close persons as entrepreneurial role models) and entrepreneurship education. Additionally, the role of gender, school achievement and parental education was analysed, as well as the role of perceiving the socioeconomic context in which young people live. The sample was convenient and comprised 222 fourth-grade students from two schools of economics and three grammar schools in Serbia. Robitschek?s scale (PGISS-II) was used for measuring personal initiative, while other instruments were constructed for the purposes of the research. The used statistical procedures included descriptive statistics, Chi-square, t-test, Pearson?s coefficient of linear correlation, as well as standard multiple regression analysis. The results indicate that the personal growth initiative, entrepreneurial experience (especially parents who are entrepreneurs) and the perception of the context in which young people live are the most important factors for forming an entrepreneurial intention in secondary school students in Serbia. The obtained findings are discussed, first and foremost, in the context of implications for entrepreneurship education in which the desirable educational strategies refer to encouraging student initiative and engaging successful entrepreneurs in teaching as mentors.

The authors of this study have attempted to understand whether study habits affect academic achievement among secondary and senior secondary school students of Mysore. It is also attempted to know whether students at secondary level differ from senior secondary level on their study habits. The study was conducted on the sample of 625 students of Mysore City in India using stratified random sampling technique. Results indicated that the study habits facilitate higher academic achievement. Further, it was also found that secondary school students are significantly better than senior secondary students on study habits. The findings are analyzed and explained. Thus, study habit is found to be an important correlate of academic achievement.

When educational neuroscience emerged in the latter decade of the 20th century, it completely transformed the area of education and presented a slew of new difficulties to educators, scholars, and intellectuals. The study's goals were to 1) ascertain secondary school students' conceptions about brain-based learning 2) assess students' awareness of neurotheological practices. It was a descriptive study, and the study sample consisted of all public secondary school students, and250 students were chosen at random from the study population. The researchers developed a questionnaire after reading relevant literature. The study indicated that emotions influence decision-making, fostering creativity and uniqueness, so it concluded that a suitable classroom/institution environment makes students feel like active learners. The study may suggest that teachers create a favorable learning environment for better learning, and it may also recommend that students offer prayer five times daily to relax their brains and improve learning and creativity.

The aim of this research is to analyze the contribution of the secondary level chess in the success of math lesson by comparing end-year math scores of the secondary school students playing and not playing chess. The research is a relational screening model and the research data are composed of end-year math scores in promotion sheets of the students. Thereby, the research group is composed of totally 274 students - 200 males and 74 females - studying at 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades in 5 secondary schools selected from the central districts of the city of Sakarya at the end of 2014-2015 school years. SPSS 22.0 statistical software package was used and the significance level was taken as p< 0.05. The obtained data was handled within the scope of descriptive and inferential statistics, and t-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used. A significant difference was found out between the end-year math scores of the students playing and not playing chess in favor of the playing ones. No significant difference was found between the end-year math scores of the students playing chess in relation to their genders and grades.

The purpose of this study is to establish measures of language dominance in bilinguals who speak structurally different languages, in our case German and Turkish, with tools that are based on fluency and oral proficiency. A ‘balanced’ bilingual with equal proficiency in two (or more) languages is hardly ever found (e.g. Grosjean, 1982; Olsson, & Sullivan, 2005) but the identification of the dominant language is a huge methodological problem, especially in studies of structurally different languages (see Daller, van Hout, & Treffers-Daller, 2003). The participants in the present study are a group of Turkish—German bilinguals who grew up in Germany and returned to Turkey during their school career, the so-called ‘returnees’ (n = 60), and a group of Turkish secondary school students who grew up in Turkey and learned German as an L2, the so-called control group (n = 55). We firstly establish the language dominance of the two groups with a C-test. We then use oral picture descriptions in both languages to measure a variety of fluency measures, both manually and using scripts written in ‘Praat’ (Boersma & Weenink, 2007). On the basis of these scores, we are able to develop measures of fluency that correlate highly with the C-test scores and have a highly predictive value in a logistic regression in the prediction of group membership (returnee or member of the control group). We conclude that this corroborates the validity of the measures. Overall we conclude that it is possible to develop measures of language dominance based on fluency and overall oral proficiency.
