The durability of the road flexural pavement structure is largelydetermined by the performance of each layer. One of these factors isthe strength and resilience of the subbase. Compaction inaccordance with applicable standards will produce roads with goodquality so that the road life is longer and there is less damage. Thepurpose of this study is to analyze the carrying capacity using CBR,the value of the field density with the sand cone test and thecorrelation of the CBR value and the Sand cone value of the B gradefoundation layer on the Tugu Munajah network. The researchmethod used is laboratory and field testing combined with adescriptive statistic approach. The results of the study indicate that the carrying capacity using theCBR amounted to 55.02% <60%, the density value field with sandcone test of 72.50% <90%. Correlation of CBR and Sand cone value atthe base layer (sub base course) is very strong at 0.998.

In cold areas, semi-rigid base asphalt pavement is prone to generate reflection cracks due to thermal contraction and dry shrinkage, and the base layer cracks can cause surface layer cracking and shorten the service life of the pavement. Aiming at understanding the response characteristics of asphalt pavement structure under multi-axle loads in cold areas, this paper took semi-rigid base asphalt pavement and inverted-base asphalt pavement as the research objects, and employed ANSYS to conduct finite element analysis on them to figure out the response characteristics of the asphalt pavement structure under the condition of different multi-axle loads and graded macadam base course. The research results showed that, the action of multi-axal loads increased the tensile stress of the base layer of the asphalt pavement and the tensile stress of the base layer of the semi-rigid base asphalt pavement, and increased the road surface deflection, which had resulted in insufficient bearing capacity of the pavement structure, and thus causing significant damages to the asphalt pavement; analysis of the response characteristics of the two types of asphalt pavement showed that, adding a graded macadam base course as the stress-absorbing layer is conductive to reducing the tensile stress of the base layer of the semi-rigid base asphalt pavement and effectively delaying or inhibiting reflection cracks generating on the pavement. The study of this paper provided a theoretical reference for the design and construction of asphalt pavement.

In order to overcome the weakness of semi-rigidity base layer, the road performance of the SRX(Solution Road RomixSoilfix) stabilized base material and the mechanics response of asphalt pavement with the base layer stabilized by SRX have been studied in this paper. The CBR value and resilient modulus of SRX stabilized base material were given by indoor test. Based on the multiple layer elastic theory, both the mechanical responses of asphalt pavement structure with the SRX stabilized base and semi-rigid base were given, and according to the calculation results, the two kinds of pavement structure fatigue life were analyzed. The results have shown that the CBR value of SRX flexible material is greater than that of graded crushed stone; the SRX stable material can be used as pavement base layer, but the fatigue performance of SRX flexible base materials should be paid much attention.

In this article, the three-dimensional finite element method was used to analyse the composite base asphalt pavement structure life, which setting the graded gravel layer between the asphalt surface layer and the semi-rigid base layer. The main effect considering on the service life were the face layer thickness, the graded gravel thickness ,the contact state and so on, and compared the compound base with typical semi-rigid base the service life of the asphalt pavement . The analysis shown that the road surface contact state was the biggest influence to the service life. When using reasonable pavement structure combination, composite base asphalt pavement generally wouldn't produce the service life of the decline .

Properly designed and maintained asphalt pavements operate for ten to twenty-five years and have to be rehabilitated after that period. Cold in-place recycling has priority over all other rehabilitation methods since it is done without preheating and transportation of reclaimed asphalt pavement. Multiple researches on the performance of cold recycled mixtures have been done; however, it is unclear how the entire pavement structure (cold recycled asphalt pavement overlaid with asphalt mixture) performs depending on binding agents. The main objective of this research was to evaluate the performance of cold in-place recycled asphalt pavements considering binding agents (foamed bitumen in combination with cement or only cement) and figure out which binder leads to the best pavement performance. Three road sections rehabilitated in 2000, 2003, and 2005 were analysed. The performance of the entire pavement structure was evaluated in terms of the International Roughness Index, rut depth, and pavement surface distress in 2013 and 2017.

The Street-Race Circuit is being built in the Mandalika Tourism Special Economic Zone (KEK), Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. The construction is targeted to be completed, before the MotoGP event on this circuit is implemented in 2021. One of the infrastructure related to this, which also really needs to be built to support the smooth running of the 2021 MotoGP is the development of access to the circuit location. The analysis carried out includes the calculation of heavy equipment productivity. Heavy equipment productivity is determined based on cycle times, production per hour, number of heavy equipment used, the amount of operating costs per hour. The analysis was carried out for the road surface layer work, namely the Asphalt Concrete Base Course (AC-BC) work. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that the production for 1 unit of asphalt mixing plant (AMP) was 49.80 tons/hour and 9 units of dump trucks were 2.34 tons/hour. The spreader using the asphalt finisher can spread 109.18 tons/hour. As for the compactor, which is 18.55 tons/hour for 2 units of tandem rollers and 27.47 tons/hour for 1 unit of pneumatic tire roller. Other equipment is 9.96 m2/hour for air compressor and 2.74 liter/hour for asphalt sprayer. Meanwhile, in the Asphalt Concrete Wearing Course (AC-WC) work, several tools have the same productivity as the AC-BC job, namely asphalt mixing plant, air compressor and asphalt sprayer. Meanwhile, 13 units of Dump Trucks amounted to 2,338 tons/hour, 1 unit of asphalt finisher of 72,787 tons/hour, 3 units of tandem rollers of 12,367 tons/hour, and 1 unit of pneumatic tire roller of 18.31 tons/hour. The total cost of using heavy equipment for road surface layer work is Rp. 4,967,657,344. The total cost based on the contract document is Rp. 5,042,082,622. So that there is a difference in costs of Rp. 74,425,278.

This paper presents findings of a study concerning the influence of binder type on the mechanical properties of road base in the cold recycling technology. The principal aim of this investigation was to evaluate the mixes in scope of susceptibility to moisture and low-temperatures. In the comparative research foamed bitumen and bitumen emulsion were used in four different concentrations (2.0%, 2.5%, 3.0%, 3.5%). The materials used in the study were reclaimed from an existing road construction layers: reclaimed aggregate from the road base and reclaimed asphalt pavement obtained by milling the surface and binder course. Portland cement in 2.0% concentration was used as a hydraulic binder. The evaluated parameters were: indirect tensile strengths, tensile strength retained and indirect tensile stiffness modulus at 25 °C. These tests were complemented by an evaluation of susceptibility to moisture and frost according to modified procedures implemented by American researchers: Tunnicliff, Root and Lottman. Moreover, tests for low-temperature cracking were conducted according to Finnish standard. The investigations showed that the use of foamed bitumen for road base layer produced in the cold recycling technology results in better mechanical properties and resistance to moisture and frost compared to using bitumen emulsion. The use of 2.5% of foamed bitumen and 2.0% of Portland cement in the recycled road base allowed to meet the established criteria.

Abstrak. The Highway that connect Magelang Purworejo is one of the Collector roads in Central Java. Magelang-Purworejo’s Highway has a fairly high traffic load, based on a survey conducted by LHR in 2017 of 4392 vehicles. A high enough amount of LHR causes the road to damage the hair cracked. Based on the above, the thickness of the pavement or overlay is planned. This plan begins with a survey of the number of passing vehicles for twenty-four hours (LHR), then surveying the carrying capacity of ground using DCP tools, then measuring the skill of using digital teodholit. Then look for references and secondary data in the form of traffic growth, rainfall data and road class data. After all the data obtained then calculated the thickness of road pavement using the method of Bina Marga 1987. Based on these calculations obtained the required re-layer is 3 cm.

Key word: road pavement, overlay, dynamic cone penetrometer
