This study aimed to determine the perceptions of students who learn Turkish as a foreign language towards "writing in Turkish." The study was conducted using the phenomenology pattern, one of the qualitative research methods. The study sample consisted of one hundred seventy-five (175) students who were from two state universities in Turkey and learned Turkish as a foreign language in the 2019-2020 academic year. The study data were collected using an online form, and the participant students were asked to complete the statement in the form as follows: "Writing in Turkish is like ……, because ……………". As a result of the research, the students generated one hundred and eleven (111) valid metaphors about "writing in Turkish." Ninety (90) of them were positive, and 21 were negative. The categories with the highest number of positive responses were as follows: "Writing in Turkish: an Enjoyable Task" (n: 20), "Writing in Turkish: an Improving Task" (n: 17), "Writing in Turkish: a Similar Task" (n: 13) and "Writing in Turkish: an Achievable Task" (n: 12). The category with the most negative responses was the "Writing in Turkish: a Difficult Task" (n: 12).

Kripik makroni spiral Makeci merupakan produk makanan ringan yang memiliki keunggulan dari segi varian level kepedasan, produk ini juga memiliki kelemahan pada aspek kemasanya, dalam artian produk ini tidak memiliki identitas, melainkan hanya dikemas dengan plastik transparan dengan label yang ditulis tangan, sehingga tidak memiliki daya tarik bagi konsumen. Tujuan perancangan kemasan produk kripik makroni spiral Makeci adalah sebagai upaya memberikan identitas produk dan dapat menunjukkan image produk dengan kompetitor lainnya. Perancangan dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan berbasis praktik yaitu dengan melakukan observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi dan studi pustaka. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis SWOT untuk produk dan analisis VIEW untuk menganalisis fitur kemasan. Konsep perancangan kemasan produk Makeci menampilkan desain kemasan produk dengan citra makanan ringan yang mempunyai ciri khas rasa pedas dan mengandung unsur budaya Jawa namun tetap memiliki kesan modern, serta menambah visual infografis mengenai diskripsi singkat budaya yang ada di Indonesia pada kemasan bagian belakang, sehingga kemasan dapat berfungsi sebagai media informasi, serta memberi kesan berbeda dengan kemasan kompetitornya. Makeci macroni spiral chips  is a snack product that has advantages in terms of spiciness level variants, this product also has weaknesses in its aspect of packaging, in the sense that this product does not have an identity, but is only packaged in transparent plastic with a handwritten label, so it has no power appeal to consumers. The purpose of the Makeci macroni spiral chips packaging design is an effort to provide product identity and be able to show the image of the product with other competitors. The design is done using qualitative research methods with a practice-based approach that is by conducting observations, interviews, documentation and literature study. Data were analyzed using SWOT analysis for products and VIEW analysis to analyze packaging features. The concept of the design of the product packaging Makeci displays the design of the product packaging with the image of snacks which has a characteristic spicy taste and contains elements of Javanese culture but still has a modern impression, as well as adding a visual infographic about a brief description of the culture that exists in Indonesia on the back of the packaging, so that the packaging can serves as a medium of information, and gives a different impression to the competitors packaging.

This research focusses on the analysis of learning experience. Together with the other factors of motivational structure: Intrinsic motivation, Personal goals, Attractivity of foreign language community, and Worries about learning, it creates motivational profile of foreign language (FL) learners. The analysis is based on the theoretical concept of foreign language motivational self-system by Dörnyei. The research aim was to find out the perception of learning experience and the level of its dependence on the category of the Associations with the expression “German” in the selected categories. Moreover, it was to find out the differences in perception of learning experience, motivational structure, and the length of foreign language studying. The research sample consisted of German FL learners from six different lower-secondary schools within Slovakia. Motivational Structure Questionnaire was used as a research tool to obtain the research data. The data were processed by the selected quantitative and qualitative research methods. The research results supported ambivalence of learning experience. The statistical significance was found in the two categories: the category of Negative emotions related to the category negative perception of educational situation, and the category of German speaking countries related to the higher level of motivation in the factor of learning experience. Furthermore, significant relations were found between the factor of learning experience and the factors of the ideal self of the motivational structure and the length of studying a foreign language. The results in the qualitative part of the research opened up a possible intervention steps towards foreign language motivation reinforcement. <p><strong>Abstract:</strong> This study aims to analyze the government’s creative economic strategy in improving the welfare of the community, especially in the BAPPEDA of East Java Province and also to find out the efforts of regional governments in developing a sharia-based creative economy. Descriptive qualitative research methods are used by the author as an approach in this study. Data collection techniques are by documentation, interviews and observation. The results of the study indicate that the government’s creative economic strategies are established by building synergy with pentahelix elements, motivating innovation, realizing the “smart economy” program, and collaboration with BEKRAF. It also explained that the efforts of the regional government in developing a sharia-based creative economy are by producing halal products and involving syaria institutions into pentahelix elements and implementing the concept of mashlahah in creative economic activities.</p><p><strong>Abstrak:</strong> Ekonomi Kreatif Syariah Sebagai Upaya Peningkatan Ekonomi Umat. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis strategi ekonomi kreatif pemerintah dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat, terutama di BAPPEDA Provinsi Jawa Timur, dan bagaimana upaya pemerintah daerah mengembangkan ekonomi kreatif berbasis syariah. Metode penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data dokumentasi, wawancara, dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi ekonomi kreatif pemerintah dilakukan dengan bersinergi dengan elemen pentahelix, motivasi semangat dan inovasi, sadar program “smart economy”, dan kerjasama dengan BEKRAF. Hasil penelitian juga menjelaskan bahwa upaya pemerintah daerah dalam mengembangkan ekonomi kreatif berbasis syariah adalah dengan menghasilkan produk-produk ekonomi kreatif yang halal dan syar‘i, melibatkan institusi syariah ke dalam elemen pentahelix, dan menerapkan konsep mashlahah dalam kegiatan ekonomi kreatif.</p><p><strong>Kata Kunci:</strong> Ekonomi kreatif, kesejahteraan, ekonomi kreatif syariah</p>

The aim of this study is to determine how cinema movies contribute to students’ learning of human rights and democracy in the 2017-2018 Academic Year Fall Semester. The research was modelled according to the pattern of action research from qualitative research methods. Research was conducted for 13 weeks in a public university in Turkey. In the Human Rights and Democracy course, 13 movies about human rights were watched, interpreted and evaluated. Structured interview form was applied to 13 students. Data was analyzed by content analysis. The findings revealed that in general movies can be useful in teaching human rights and democracy issues. In this way, it has been found that both cognitive and affective subjects can be learned permanently. It has been concluded that movies can be used effectively in value teaching and movies based on real events should be used.

There are various views about the use of manuscript handwriting and cursive italic handwriting in the teaching early years literacy.  The reason of this research is to explore the thoughts of the first class teachers, parents who have children in the first class and students who are receiving education in the first class about the transition from cursive italic handwriting to manuscript handwriting.The technique of interview is used in this research as one of the qualitative research methods. 20 first class teachers in duty, 20 parents and 20 first class students, which make up total of 60 persons, participated to this research in the province of Uşak. The data are compiled partially by structured interview forms and analysed descriptively. According to findings, first class teachers who participated to this research are having positive thoughts about the manuscript handwriting. The majority of class teachers who participated to this research expressed their difficulties in teaching the cursive italic handwriting.Class teachers who participated to this research prefer the teaching early years literacy through manuscript letters to the teaching early years literacy through the cursive italic handwriting.The majority of class teachers, parents and students who participated in this research considered the decision about the transition from the cursive italic handwriting to manuscript handwriting in the education of first reading and writing during the academic year of 2016-2017 as a true and appropriate decision.Parents and students participated to the research are preferring manuscript handwriting in the education of first reading and writing.Extended English abstract is in the end of Full Text PDF (TURKISH) file. Özetİlk okuma yazma öğretiminde dik temel harflerin kullanımı ve bitişik eğik yazının kullanılması yönünde çeşitli görüşler bulunmaktadır. Bu araştırmanın amacı birinci sınıf öğretmenlerinin, birinci sınıfta çocuğu bulunan velilerin ve birinci sınıfta öğrenim gören öğrencilerin  bitişik eğik yazıdan dik yazıya geçiş ile ilgili düşüncelerini ortaya çıkarmaktır.Araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden görüşme tekniği kullanılmıştır. Araştırmaya Uşak ilinde görev yapmakta olan 20 birinci sınıf öğretmeni, 20 veli ve 20 birinci sınıf öğrencisi olmak üzere 60 kişi katılmıştır. Yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ile veriler toplanmış ve betimsel olarak analiz edilmiştir.Araştırma sonuçlarına göre; sınıf öğretmenleri dik temel harflerin öğretimi ile ilgili olumlu düşüncelere sahiptirler. Birinci sınıf öğretmenlerinin büyük çoğunluğu bitişik eğik yazı öğretiminde zorlandıklarını dile getirmişlerdir. Araştırmaya katılan sınıf öğretmenleri dik temel harflerle ilk okuma yazma öğretimini bitişik eğik yazı ile ilk okuma yazma öğretimine tercih etmektedirler.Araştırmaya katılan sınıf öğretmenlerinin büyük çoğunluğu, veliler ve öğrenciler 2016-2017 eğitim öğretim yılında ilk okuma yazma öğretiminde bitişik eğik yazıdan, dik temel harflere geçiş hakkındaki kararı doğru ve yerinde bir karar olarak nitelendirmişlerdir.Araştırmaya katılan veliler ve öğrenciler ilk okuma yazma öğretiminde dik temel yazıyı tercih etmektedirler.
