Intellectual capital merupakan asset tidak berwujud, sumber daya, iptek dan pengetahuan yang dimiliki perusahaan yang membedakannya dengan perusahaan lain. Intellectual capital telah berkembang dan menjadi modal yang sangat penting dan menjadi bagian yang sangat kritikal bagi perusahaan untuk memperoleh keunggulan bersaing (competitive advantage) dalam menghadapi perkembangan ekonomi global di mana persaingan semakin kuat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh intellectual capital terhadap kinerja perusahaan. Penelitian ini akan dilakukan pada Perusahaan Perbankan yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia. Metode Value Added Intellectual Coefficient (VAIC) digunakan untuk menghitung Intellectual Capital. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa secara simultan Intellectual Capital berpengaruh signifikan positif terhadap kinerja perusahaan. Secara parsial, Customer Capital (VACA ) berpengaruh signifikan positif terhadap kinerja perusahaan. Sedangkan variabel Human Capital (VAHU) dan Structural Capital (STVA) tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja perusahaan.

The aim of the research was to analyze the management of the SMEs of Troso Weaving Craft in Jepara Regency in relation to the human resources. In order that the SMEs can compete with today’s industry, the SMEs are required to be able to run their businesses professionally and to innovate, as well as to implement new breakthroughs. Therefore, the management of the SMEs needs to develop their intellectual ability and competitive advantage for their products. Intellectual capital is the intangible resource that can be used as the source of sustainable competitive advantage. The measurement of IC associated with competitive advantage was made against the elements of human capital, structural capital and costumer capital. Hence,this research discussed a model that relates the intellectual capital of the SMEs to the competitive advantage of the SMEs of Troso Weaving Craft in Jepara Regency. For the development of the model and hypothesis, the research used the Structural Equation Modelling (SEM), by taking the samples of 157 SMEs of Troso Weaving Craft selected in simple random sampling. The analysis results show that human capital, structural capital, and customer capital have the effect on competitive advantage. It means that the improvement of the competitive advantage for Troso Weaving Craft requires trainings in the managements of production, distribution, marketing and finance for all individuals and employees of the SMEs.

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi bagaimana karakteristik modal intelektual memberikan kontribusi terhadap keuntungan kompetitif. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah menguji hubungan antara efisiensi dari Value Added Intellectual Coeficient (VAICTM)yang terdiri atas komponen sumber daya perusahaan, physical capital(VACA), human capital(VAHU) and structural capital(STVA)dan tradisional dimensi dari kinerja keuangan perusahaan: Asset Turn Over. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa secara parsial modal intelektual (VAICTM), modal fisik tidak signifikan mempengaruhi kinerja perusahaan. Secara simultan, modal fisik, modal karyawan dan modal structural mempengaruhi kinerja perusahaan.Hasil empiris menyatakan bahwa telah terjadi pergeseran pemikiran tentang struktur baru dan proses penjunjang produktivitas aset perusahaan. Modal karyawan, merupakan indicator yang paling signifikan bagi VAICTM dan kinerja perusahaan, berperan sebagai penggerak utama untuk pencipataan nilai. Kata Kunci: Modal Intelektual, Kinerja Perusahaan ABSTRACT This study explores the way in which intellectual capital characteristics contribute towards a competitive advantage. The principal purpose of this study was to investigate the association between the efficiency ofValue Added Intellectual Coeficient (VAICTM) by the major components of a firm’s resource base, physical capital(VACA), human capital(VAHU) and structural capital(STVA) and traditional dimensions offinancial company’s performance:Asset Turn Over. The findings show that:as partial,intellectual capital (VAICTM), physical capital not significantly influences to company’s performance.. Simultaneously, physical capital, human capital, structural capital influences company’s performance. The empirical findings suggest thattransition in thinking about a new structure and process supporting a company’s productive assets. Human capital, remains the most significant indicator for VAICTM and financial company’s performance, role as principal driver for  value creation.  Keywords: Intelectual Capital, Firm Performance

The purpose of this study is to analyze the role of green intellectual capital on competitive advantage of Lembaga Perkreditan Desa (Balinese Financial Institution). The study tested by using data collected from a sample of 120 respondents that were randomly picked from 35 Lembaga Perkreditan Desa in Denpasar. Findings suggested that green human capital, green relational capital, and green structural capital affect competitive advantage at 17.6%. Furthermore, green human capital and green structural capital had positive effect on competitive advantage. Meanwhile, green relational capital did not affect competitive advantage. The eco-friendly concept remains a critical factor to gain company’s competitive advantage. This study provides insight into green innovation research field.

This chapter aims to examine the role of intellectual capital in order to enhance the organizational performance of airline industry in Malaysia. Five components of intellectual capital, namely human capital, customer capital, structural capital, technological capital, and spiritual capital, were used to investigate the role of intellectual capital in airline industry in Malaysia. A structured questionnaire was used to gather the required data from Kuala Lumpur, Sultan Ismail Johor Bharu International Airport, and Kuching International Airport. A total of 195 out of 200 useable questionnaires were collected. Multiple regression analysis was employed to test the proposed research hypotheses of this study. The findings show that two variables, namely customer capital and spiritual capital, appeared as significant contributors while the remaining three variables, human capital, structural capital, and technological capital, appeared as insignificant contributors. This is a preliminary study and it could be a milestone for further studies.

The aims of this study to determine how much the influence about intellectual capital (VACA, VAHU, STVA) on financial performance (ROA). The population in this study were go public companies that listed in the Stock Exchange and get the Best Of The Best Companies award by Forbes magazine in Indonesia for the 2015-2016 financial statements. The sampling technique in this study was conducted by purposive sampling technique. Based on the determined criteria obtained 36 samples from 79 existing populations. This study used multiple regression analysis to see the effect of several independent variables to the dependent variable. The results of the study conclude that the Value Added Capital Asset has no effect on ROA, Value Added Human Capital has a significant positive effect on ROA, and the last is Structural Capital Value Added has a significant positive effect on ROA.Keywords: Value Added Capital Asset, Value Added Human Capital, Structural Capital Value Added, ROA

Purpose: This study aims to examine the association between intellectual capital and competitive advantage in the hotel industry in Bali Province, Indonesia. The interrelationship between components of intellectual capital –human capital, relational capital, structural capital – were tested in this study, and testing was also carried out for the association of intellectual capital – represented by structural capital – with competitive advantage. Methodology: Data was collected using a self-administered questionnaire. A total of 172 questionnaires were sent to general managers of three-, four- and five-star hotels in Bali Province. A total of 109 questionnaires were returned and could be analysed (a 63% response rate). The analysis was performed using covariance-based structural equation modeling with AMOS 21.0 software. Main Findings: The findings show that between the components of intellectual capital there is a positive and significant association: human capital with relational capital, human capital with structural capital and relational capital with structural capital. The findings also show that structural capital has a significant positive association with a competitive advantage. Implications: Mobilising and utilising human capital as much as possible can create and enhance relational capital and structural capital. Willingness to realise, utilise, compile and develop organizational knowledge enables long-term competitive advantages to be achieved. Novelty: This study examines the association of intellectual capital – facilitated by structural capital – and competitive advantage, which researchers have not done before in the hotel industry.

<p class="Default">The study examines the relationship between intellectual capital and competitive advantage in Pan African Nigeria Limited, Abuja.  The study also sought to find out how intellectual capital (human capital, social capital, relational capital and structural capital) enhances competitive advantage in Pan African Nigeria Limited, Abuja. The population of 65 employees were used and the population was used as sample size.  Point in time data were collected from primary source and Ordinary Least Square was adopted and finding reveals that the relationship between intellectual capital and competitive advantage in Pan African Nigeria Limited is significant. This shows that there is a significant relationship between human capital and competitive advantage in Pan African Nigeria Limited, Abuja. There is a significant relationship between relational capital and competitive advantage in Pan African Nigeria Limited, Abuja. There is a significant relationship between structural capital and competitive advantage in Pan African Nigeria Limited, Abuja. There is a significant relationship between social capital and competitive advantage in Pan African Nigeria Limited, Abuja. It is therefore recommended that Pan African Nigeria Limited should emphasis more on intellectual capital such as human capital, social capital, relational capital and structural capital since it help them to achieve competitive advantage over other firms within the industry.</p>

This study was conducted to see how intellectual capital (IC) affects company performance (ROA)by entering the size variable in its calculations. This study also analyzes how much financial performancechanges occur as an effect of the efficiency of the use of capital employees (CEE), the efficiencyof using Structural Capital (SCE), and the partial efficiency of using Human Capital (HCE).Research was conducted on conventional banking in Indonesia for the period 2013 - 2017. Theresearch data was obtained from the official website of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). Thisstudy found that VAIC had a significant positive effect on ROA, and from the three IC components itturned out that the CEE component had the greatest influence on ROA
