Abstract In this study, the survey method was used to analyse the life satisfaction of three different refugee groups that are Syrian, Iranian, and Afghan who lives in the Denizli province of Turkey. According to the outcomes of in-depth interviews and surveys conducted on 150 refugees, the most common reason for immigrating to Turkey is the civil war-factor. The survey results show that the Afghan refugees’ level of income increased compared to that of before immigration. Afghan and Syrian refugees are more satisfied with their lives in Turkey compared to Iranian immigrants. Besides, uneducated and male refugees, living in a country with the same religion as the departure country are more satisfied than other immigrants. Therefore Iranian immigrants, most of whom are not Muslim, are planning to migrate again from Turkey to more advanced economies. In sum, the results of this study indicate that the major factors affecting life satisfaction of immigrants are educational status, religion, gender, and income.

Indonesia's financial market is a potential target, because there are still many Indonesian who in their investment patterns do not reflect the diversity and choice of modern investment instruments. This becomes a "homework" to be completed. The maximum absorption of investment funds from Indonesian society that is still conventional can "excite" the capital market again. Shariah mutual funds have a special appeal compared to other types of mutual funds. Shariah mutual funds are currently not limited to Muslims because the general public, who have seen the benefits of investment based on the selection of sector and company with certain criteria, are more promising and minimize risk. Investment portfolio management works based on the framework for investment management which covers the process of planning, implementation, evaluation and adjustment. In mutual funds, investment managers are responsible for investment activities, which include analysis and selection of investment types, and taking necessary actions for the benefit of investors. If there is a problem in the future and the investor wants to change the form of his investment, then he can do the resale of the Shariah mutual fund shares to the mutual fund company where he invests. The Shariah Supervisory Board oversees the transactions of Mutual Fund issuing companies, because the halal returns / funds obtained through mutual funds depend heavily on investment activities carried out by investment managers. The advantage of investing in Shari'ah mutual funds is that it can be done in retail so that the initial investment can be adjusted to financial capability and its value is small. Other benefits include the relatively higher yield of deposits and tax free, as well as the existence of routine audits and supervision by the Shariah Supervisory Board (DPS). Key words: Syariah Mutual Funds, Portfolio Management, Shariah Supervisory Board

The growing interest in sustainable design and construction introduces new set of risks specific to green building projects. One of the challenges in green building projects that require special consideration is the selection of the appropriate contractors to ensure that the targeted sustainability goals of the projects will be achieved. Rapid growth of green building movement requires that contractors that are willing to be active in sustainable construction learn green building rating systems, application processes, green products, and related laws and regulations. This study investigates major factors affecting the selection of contractors that will be responsible for the construction of projects aiming certification through green building certification systems. An extensive literature survey was completed to identify the significant factors in the selection process, which are important for the successful completion of the projects. It is found that experience in green building projects and certification system procedures, managerial approach, technical approach, price, past performance, and qualifications are important in the selection of contractors in green buildings.

The mutual fund industry in India has registered significant growth since the liberalization of Indian Economy in 1991 and has emerged as a significant financial intermediary. The growing importance of Indian mutual funds may be noted in terms of the increased mobilization of funds and the increasing number of schemes and investors in the industry. The results show that there is a significant association between educational qualification of the investors and the risk tolerance level and occupation of the investors and the risk tolerance level. The results further indicate that there is no significant association between occupation of the investors and the level of knowledge of mutual fund and monthly savings of the investors and the level of knowledge of mutual fund. Therefore, the investors have to consider the prevailing rate of risk free returns and to compare the fund returns with it. Based on this the selection of schemes and the choice of investment avenues can be decided.Due to the fund man timing skill, stock selection ability, imperfect diversification the schemes had suffered with low return. Hence to increase the fund return the concerned fund managers have to improve all these skills.

The basis of differences in seed quality are described for two groups of crops, grain legumes and vegetables and approaches to the improvement of quality are proposed. In grain legumes the major factors affecting seed quality are imbibition damage, seed ageing and their interaction. It is proposed that use of seed vigour tests, specifically the electrical conductivity test, to identify the incidence of imbibition damage and ageing allows the selection of seed lots for sale and for use under different field conditions. Alternatively in grain legume species in which there is a genotypic influence on predisposition to imbibition damage the approach to seed improvement may lie through selection in breeding programmes. Thus identification of testa characteristics that favour slow imbibition would enable selection for these characteristics. Seed ageing is also the major cause of reduced seed quality in vegetable species, leading to slow and asynchronous germination. An approach to their seed improvement has been the development of seed invigoration treatments based on seed hydration. The principle of these treatments is described and several treatments outlined, with emphasis being given to aerated hydration, a treatment completed within 36h. The physiological basis of improvement by invigoration is discussed.
