Abstract. Women have a minority position within science, technology, engineering, and mathematics and, consequently, are likely to face more adversities at work. This diary study takes a look at a facilitating factor for women’s research performance within academia: daily work engagement. We examined the moderating effect of gender on the relationship between two behaviors (i.e., daily networking and time control) and daily work engagement, as well as its effect on the relationship between daily work engagement and performance measures (i.e., number of publications). Results suggest that daily networking and time control cultivate men’s work engagement, but daily work engagement is beneficial for the number of publications of women. The findings highlight the importance of work engagement in facilitating the performance of women in minority positions.

This study discusses a music arrangement methodological approach that is based on research and author’s ongoing experience run for more then twnry five years. The study is aimed at contributing a methodic guidance for those who concern with music arrangement. The research output of this study is a formulation of the five steps in music arrangement that encompass: arrangement concept, initial arrangement, creating new idea, further arrangement, and evaluation as well as revision.The author suggests that piano is the best instrument for arrangement and the arranger should actively hear the arrangements of various musical genres. This article gives an account of the joint implementation by the sponsor, the host institution and the partner institution of a master’s programme in Information and Communication Technology for Education at a leading African university in 2005. The success of the programme was such that it became a flagship programme at the institution. In the context of many failed joint implementations of such programmes, the question that arose and that prompted the writing of this article was, “Why did this programme succeed?” The literature indicates two elements that contribute to successful implementations: the individuals responsible for the course, and the support the institution gives. Interviews with the course coordinator, university administrators, alumni and current students, and an analysis of course documents and students’ research output revealed the nature of the activities of certain individuals and also of the institutional support factors that led to the success of the programme. Based on the study conducted, this article provides some suggestions that other implementers of similar projects may find useful.

The objective of post-evaluation Treasurer Training in 2015 is to analyze the influence of Treasurer Training programme design to the competency of treasurers which contribute to bettermen of their duties and tasks as treasurer, furthermore, to analyze the subject of Treasurer Training which need to refined. This post-evaluation research respondents are alumni, alumni's superiors, and alumni's peers of Treasurer Training in the first semester of 2015. This research utilizes interview and disseminates questionaries to alumni, superiors, and peers. Data processing is carried out using descriptive statistics with SPSS and Microsoft Excel. The research output including three competences show that score of knowledge competence is 4.53 (very good), score of skills is 4.54 (very good) and attitude is 4.52 (very good). The result of Chi-Square test shows that there is no difference in competence evaluation by alumni, superiors, and peers so it is considered objective.

The primary function of Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah (Faculty) of Laws, at the very beginning of its inception, was that of teaching civil law and Sharî’ah subjects. As it matured, its vision has been varied from teaching to that of research with the aim of attaining the status of a full research institution that provides both quality research and best legal education in the region. Similar to other institutions of higher education in Malaysia, the responsibility of research is a shared function of both graduate students and the academic staff. The research output, on the part of the students is mostly composed of either Master Dissertations or PhD Theses. The academic members of the Faculty, however, are involved either in direct research, individually or jointly, supervision, and publications of their findings. By investigating and analyzing factors influencing research activities at AIKOL in the past twenty years, the researchers will be able to identify the general trends and development of research as it unfolded over years. The researchers hope that the policymakers, at both Faculty and University levels, will use the findings to improve research quality by boldly addressing the problems hampering research progress at AIKOL.
