Any sport organization intensively needs a performance evaluation system to ensure the desirability of its activities, particularly in dynamic and complicated environments. The objective of this study was to use interpretive structural modeling (ISM) to propose a performance evaluation model for the youth and sports offices in Khuzestan Province, Iran. This is a quantitative study of descriptive-analytical type. The statistical population consisted of 120 scientific and executive experts. 60 individuals were invited to participate, and finally, 30 individuals were selected as the final respondents by purposive sampling method. The data measurement tool was a researcher-made questionnaire. Its validity was confirmed by the experts. Descriptive and inferential statistics methods were used to analyze the data. MATLAB was employed to analyze the data concerning the interpretive structural model. The results showed that most of the strategies are in the linked area according to the analysis of the influence power and dependence (MICMAC Table). Moreover, the results of the strategy classification indicated that the most essential strategies were: strategies of sport preparation scheme, legislation, structural obstacles elimination, creation of the province sport strategic council, and strategic management approach.

The Lut desert is one of the largest and most attractive deserts in Iran. The value of desert tourism remains unclear for Iran’s economy and has only recently been taken into consideration by the authorities, although its true national and international value remains unclear. This study was aimed at investigating the factors that influence tourism development in the Lut desert. Data collected through the purposive sampling method was analyzed using Interpretive Structural Modeling and the MICMAC Analysis. According to the results, cost-effective travel expenses, security, and safety provided in the desert, together with appropriate media advertising and illustration of the Lut desert (branding) are the leading factors that influence tourism in the Lut desert in Iran. This paper highlighted the importance of desert tourism, especially in this region.

The evaluation of educators has focused historically on classroom teachers, although the last decade brought additional attention to the evaluation of principals and superintendents. This note presents a performance evaluation system designed for evaluating professional support personnel (e.g., counselors, deans, librarians). A conceptual framework for the system is provided, including recommended steps in evaluating support personnel and emphasizing both goal and improvement orientations. Finally, while the evaluation system is designed for professional support personnel, system characteristics that may be generalizable to other education professionals are discussed.

An urban economic space system consists of an interactional economic system and its carrier. Characterized by numerous elements, complex relations, and structural levels, this system is also composed of the following: industrialization, urbanization and its cooperative system, environmental restrictions, and other subsystems. Structural principle and interpretive structural modeling are employed to build an interpretive structural model of 36 elements distributed across 12 levels. The following relation, i.e., industrialization → urbanization → environmental restrictions, constitutes a core substructure that affects the cooperative degree of urbanization and industrialization.
