Since the beginning of the structural analysis of masonry structures, it has been sought to know their behavior taking into account the influence of the different elements that make it up, evolving the structural analysis of masonry arches to analyze the fracto-mechanical behavior of the masonry. This article presents the adaptation of the Tsai-Hill failure criterion for orthotropic materials, for the study of masonry arches. Implementing the adaptation in a VUSFLD subroutine of ABAQUS in Fortran programming language. This subroutine has been validated in view of the failure of the mortar, and the effect of considering mortar in the analysis of a masonry arch. The subroutine implemented in a masomodel allows observing its contribution to the bearing capacity of an arch. Key Words: Masonry Arch; ABAQUS subroutine; failure Criterion; Mortar; structural analysis; Tsai-Hill failure criterion

Abstract. This article presents the results of histological and X-ray studies of bone condition, stability, and degree of osteointegration of implants with different microstructure of the surface during immediate and delayed implantation in the animal experiment. The results of the study did not reveal significant differences in the process of osteointegration during direct and delayed implantation. Data from histological and X-ray studies of direct implantation in fresh extraction holes are comparable to those obtained during delayed implantation and are not inferior to the traditional two-stage protocol. At the same time, a certain correlation between the type of surface of the implant and the time of its adaptation in different periods of the experiment was revealed. When using an implant with an innovative surface, HSTTM. The process of osteointegration is mor clear, and the bone wall of the hole is more compacted, which indicates an accelerated and successful process of osteointegration. Key words: X-ray diffraction, frequency resonance and histological analysis, fibrous capsule, collagen fibers, trabeculae, bone tissue, periotestometry osseointegration, stability.

This study evaluates the susceptibility of masonry arches to earthquake loading through experimental testing and progresses toward a specific criterion by which arches can be quickly assessed. Five different earthquake time histories, as well as harmonic base excitations of increasing amplitude, were applied to model arches, and the magnitude of the base motion resulting in collapse was determined repeatedly. Results are compared with failure predictions of an analytical model which describes the rocking motion of masonry arches under base excitation. The primary impulse of the base excitation is found to be of critical importance in causing collapse of the masonry arch. Accordingly, a suite of failure curves are presented which can be used to determine the rocking stability of masonry arches under a primary base acceleration impulse which has been extracted from an expected earthquake motion.

Abstract This comparative study was conducted to find out how heroism in Japanese and Javanese traditions is manifested into two literary works representing those traditions:  Momotarō and Bharatayuda. This study is also aimed to find out the similarities of heroism manifestation in the two traditions. The reason for conducting this study is from the assumption that heroism is a universal concept. Therefore, such heroisms have similarities although they may come from different traditional backgrounds. Structural analysis and binary opposition were used in this study. The structural analysis was used to obtain the data on traditional background of the areas and the actions done by the main characters, while binary opposition was used to obtain the data on the main characters’ heroic actions which were then concluded as the heroic manifestation. The result shows that the heroismmanifestation in Japanese and Javanese traditions has the following things in common: 1) conquering enemies, 2) protecting the members of the group, 3) keeping promise, 4) recompense, and 5) acting ethically. The result of this study can also prove the truth of the assumption.  Key words: heroism, heroic actions, Japanese and Javanese traditions

Experimental results and theoretical predictions for failure of timber beams with end notches, or cuts on the tension face, are discussed. The validity of Gustafsson's formula and the underlying assumptions are examined in the context of structural design codes. Attention is drawn to the arbitrary dependence of theoretical predictions on the load and geometric arrangement of specimens, and the method by which fracture energy is estimated. It is not intended at this stage to give a complete solution for the problem, but it is concluded to be premature to incorporate the proposed Eurocode 5 failure criterion for notched beams into the Canadian Standard CAN/CSA 086.1. Key words: timber, fracture, notched beam, design criterion.

To increase the depth of soil which covers a buried steel pipeline, the line can be lowered without cutting and welding. The degree of curvature in the new profile is the critical factor for controlling the resultant strains. Presented are two methods of calculating the required profile for a line containing high-pressure natural gas. One of the two is selected as being more efficient than the other and is compared with other known methods. Finally, a case history using the new method is presented. Key words: pipelines, gas pipelines, structural analysis, stress analysis, axial stress, axial strain, deflection, curvature, profiles.

Abstract: This paper discusses the European classical folktale entitled “The Sleeping Beauty”, which has so far been widely recognized by children and adults. This folktale tells about a princess who got cursed in such a way that she slept for a hundred years. She was then saved by a prince from another kingdom. In this paper, “The Sleeping Beauty” is analyzed by using Propp’s structural theory. The result of the analysis shows that “The Sleeping Beauty” has the structure similar to Russian folktales, the ones that have been analyzed by Propp. Key Words : folktale, Propp’s structural analysis

His work aims to develop a mathematical model of incident solar radiation on all the walls of a sloping roof habitat for a typical climate in the Ouagadougou region. Subsequently, we set up a program for the calculations of the essential parameters of illumination and the various components of solar radiation under the Fortran Programming Language and to plot our curves using the Origin software. This work allowed us to estimate the amount of solar flux that each wall of a habitat receives during a day, to know the importance of the orientation of the main facade of the habitat to the south and to find out how often the roof is exposed to solar radiation.
