Background: Since the introduction of mobile phones in the late eighties, many studies have raised concerns about the possible adverse effects on health, as a result of the exposure to RF and microwave electromagnetic fields as RF-EMR can penetrate deep into organic tissues and get absorbed producing many biological effects in human body. Brain is involved in very important functions and RF-EMR might have damaging effects on its different parts. The present study was undertaken with an aim to study effects of radio-frequency electromagnetic radiations (RF-EMR) emitted by mobile phones on cerebrum in albino rats under light and electron microscopy and to evaluate such changes after exposure to graded dose of RF-EMR Material and methods: The present study was carried out on twenty four adult albino rats of either sex weighing 180-200 grams each. The animals were divided into four groups: 1 control and 3 experimental and were exposed to RF-EMR via complete missed calls of 45 seconds duration each. Both the experimental and control groups were then sacrificed and cerebral cortex was isolated for tissue processing. The processed tissues were then studied under light microscope (Hematoxylin & Eosin Staining) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM).     Results: Light microscopic findings of the present study showed that cellular size of neuronal cells in pyramidal layer of cerebral cortex, neurons of hippocampus and some granular layers in cerebral cortex of RF-EMR exposed rats decreased in compare to control groups. Individual cells could be seen with condensed cytoplasm and nucleus. Electron microscopic findings revealed individual shrunken cells with condensed cytoplasm and nucleus. Conclusion: From the findings of the present study it appears pertinent that in order to protect the population living around base stations and users of mobile handsets, governments and regulatory bodies adopt safety standards, which translate to limits on exposure levels below a certain value and efforts are underway to harmonize the different standards in existence.

During the recent years, there has been a tremendous increase in use of mobile phones which resulted in an increase of the exposure to electromagnetic radiations in our life. Human saliva is considered as a potential source of biomarkers to monitor changes that occur under pathological conditions. The main objective of the current experiment was to determine the effect of mobile phone radiation on general health, electrolytes and salivary function among Islamic University students who use mobile phones. A questionnaire was designed and applied to 167 healthy and 36 deaf female students to select cases whose meeting the inclusion criteria. A total of 103 students who met the inclusion criteria were included to investigate the influence of mobile phone radiations on their general health. For assessment of salivary parameters, a total of 55 students were chosen and classified into three groups. Group I was the control group, which included 17 deaf students who did not use the mobile phone at all. Group II was healthy students who have mobile phone for less than 5 years. Group III was healthy students who have mobile phone for 5 years or more. Descriptive data that included mean, standard deviation, and percentages was calculated for each group. Multiple group comparisons were made by one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by Tukey test for pairwise comparisons. Categorical data were analyzed by Chi square (χ2) test. For all the tests, a P value of 0.05 or less was considered for statistical significance. The results showed that the participants who use mobile phone had several problems in their health including dry mouth, bad odor from mouth, drooling of saliva, as well as ear and eye pain. The majority of the participants who use mobile phone complained of headache, anxiety, insomnia and forgetfulness as compared to deaf participants. Also, the study showed that there was no significant difference between salivary pH in all tested groups. Regarding to salivary flow rate, the differences were no significant in all tested groups. In addition, this study has also shown that there was significant difference between the salivary Na+ and K+ levels of the three groups. Salivary level of Na+ and K+ were significantly lower in mobile phone users when compared to non users of mobile phone.

Purpose - The primary motive of this article is to review the existing state of literature on the effects of electromagnetic radiations of communication gadgets associated with health. The article also highlights the usage of these electronic gadgets, which helps in health monitoring. This paper seeks to dispel some myths and bring forth new facts regarding the effects of mobile phones on health. The paper assumes significance in the background of highest ever penetration of mobile phones into the market. Efforts are being made to utilize mobile phones in a way beneficial to healthcare and advice people against usage that may affect health significantly. Design/Methodology/Approach – The researchers have extensively explored the pros and cons of the electronic communication gadgets. This paper attempts to investigate the effects of electromagnetic radiations primarily related to genotoxic effects on orofacial structures and oral health. Findings – The authors found that mobile phone radiation affects salivary gland and facial nerves. However, majority of the contributions are not deeply penetrated and no adverse effect is highlighted in the studies and requires a long-term research to confirm this. On a positive note, the electronic gadgets like mobile phones are extensively used in healthcare sector for data collection, adherence to medical guidelines and prescriptions and improve mobile connectivity between patients and doctors where limited assistance is needed.Research limitations/implications - The scope of this paper is limited to effects on health of humans due to electromagnetic radiations caused by electronic gadgets in daily use. Practical/implications - The systematic review will assist the medical practitioners to guide and create awareness among the community on utilization of mobile electronic gadgets in a way beneficial to healthcare and advice people against usage that may affect health significantly. Originality/Value - The authors used evidenced-based systematic approach to explore the contributions and findings by researchers in the field of healthcare in relation to usage of electronic gadgets.

More focus has been paid to induced SAR in the human head when exposed to EM Waves emitted from mobile Phone Antenna, but while using mobile phone the user gets exposed to a dangerous electromagnetic Radiations. ICNIRP Prescribed some guidelines for EM Exposure Level for Public. The Present paper is discuss the SAR Values of different Mobile Phones, Measured How much People are Aware of SAR Values are given as a survey. The study is compromised individuals that visited in the survey site .The awareness is assessed using structured questions and it was recorded to measure the awareness.

The growing exposure to digital communication system and tools leads to radiation toxicity to the users. Unaware of the safety measures even a kid at the age of one starts operating digital gadgets emitting Radio frequencyelectromagnetic radiations. Radiations from mobile phones laptops, note pad, Wi-Fi or other devices are reported to be harmful beyond the permissible limit. So there is a growing concern for the overall health, reproductive, and hormonal functions. Experimental studies were conducted by using a Wi-Fi network active laptop and live spermatozoa. The exposure of sperms to the source of EMF showed that the activity of the live sperms got reduced and mortality was observed depending on the exposure duration and the distance from EMF sources. After 5h of exposure to RF-EMF source the semen quality changed when compared with control. The vitality of sperm in the control was 95±1.0 after 2 hr and it was reduced to 60±1.5 percent at a distance of 1cm and 55±2.2 percent at a distance of 10 cm. After 5 hour exposure, the vitality was reduced to 63±1.86 at 1 cm distance and 70±1.42 at 10 cm distance. The reduction in vitality of sperm after exposure to RF-EMF source for 2 hour was 35% at 1cm and 40% at 10cm distance.

The researches realized on the biological effects of Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR) highlighted that the exposure of the human factor on the electromagnetic radiations of high frequency determines an excessive heating of the tissue causing different burning types. The aim of this paper is to analyze, by comparison, the effect of heating of the facial tissue under the Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR) influence provided from two mobile phones with different Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) index. Helping with the thermal maps, it determined the heating level of the human tissue exposed under the EMR generated by the phone during the conversation. The results obtained after the analysis are very useful for the evaluation of the heating level of the facial tissue in function of the SAR absorption index of the phone

In this paper it is presented some theoretical and experimental aspects about effect of long period using of mobile phone by different human subjects. In first part of paper it is presented the electromagnetic radiations analyze taking into account their interaction with human body. To study these interactions we develop an experimental methodology using a set of mobile phones and instruments to measure the thermal effect manifested at the skin surface and head and also the effect on visual function. The results and conclusions are presented in the final part of paper also the social and technical implications are studied and presented.
