Aim. To study the range of medicinal extracts at the pharmaceutical market of Ukraine as of 2020 in order to determine the feasibility of developing a new medicinal product based on them.Materials and methods. The bibliosemantic, analytical, logical research methods were used to analyze the literature sources; the analytical analysis was applied to study the segment of the domestic pharmaceutical market regarding the range of medicinal extracts as of 2020. Thus, their composition, distribution by the aggregate state, forms of production and country of origin, harmonization with the Ph. Eur. were analyzed.Results. It has been determined that the domestic pharmaceutical market has 18 extracts, all of them are liquid. Among all extracts registered in Ukraine the leading place (16 items) belongs to the Ukrainian manufacturers. The nomenclature of imported drugs consists of 1 extract of Vietnamese and 1 of Swiss production. Among the Ukrainian manufacturers, the largest market segment belongs to PJSC “Lubnipharm” ‒ 4 drugs; “Rotokan” is available in 55 and 110 ml bottles, while “Aloe extract”, solution for injection, 1 ml, No. 10, in ampoules is produced by PJSC “Lubnipharm” and CJSC “Darnytsia”; “Eleutherococcus extract”, 50 ml, in a bottle ‒ by LLC “Unipharma” (“Ternopharm”) and agricultural firm “Yan”. There are 19 drugs with extracts at the domestic pharmaceutical market; among them the largest market segment is occupied by drugs in the form of tablets and capsules (7 items), 2 oral solutions, 1 drug in the form of oral drops, 1 syrup and powder for oral solution. Most drugs containing extracts are made by the Ukrainian manufacturers (about 47 %), while manufacturers from Germany, France and Switzerland supply 2 drugs each, Spain, Bulgaria, Slovenia and the Czech Republic ‒ 1 drug each.Conclusions. There are 18 extracts and 19 preparations with extracts at the pharmaceutical market of Ukraine. Most of the drugs in this sample are hypnotics and sedatives (55 %), as well as drugs used in diseases of the liver and biliary tract, they improve digestion and the functional state of the gastrointestinal tract.

The statistics of fires and explosions of ammonia in the sphere of its circulation (production, storage, use) indicate the relevance of studies aimed at preventing emergency situations, localization, and elimination of accidents consequences. Equally important are studies on the development of assessments of accidents consequences associated with the release and spillage of ammonia from the equipment in various aggregate state. When ammonia is released, the resulting mixture of the product with air can vary in density from the formation of gas-air clouds with a density below the air density to buoyancy and excess air density, depending on the release conditions (pressure and temperature in the equipment; the sizes of the hole through which ammonia enters the surrounding space; the location of the hole in the equipment (gas or liquid phase). When the liquid ammonia leaks out, the spills are formed, from the surface of which the product evaporates especially rapidly in the first moments after the spill. Based on the computational and analytical studies, the design schemes and formulas were proposed for determining the parameters of the explosion: excess pressure and impulse of the undisturbed (incident) and reflected from the obstacles of the blast wave, as well as the nature of the destruction depending on the distance from the epicenter of the explosion, caused by the depressurization of equipment with ammonia. An accident scenario is considered, according to which the ammonia with a mass of 100 kg, when depressurizing, breaks out from the equipment of an industrial refrigerator. Ammonia vapors mix with the air to form a cloud that ignites and explodes. As an example, the overpressure and impulse during explosion of ammonia at a distance of 30 m from the epicenter of the explosion were determined. According to the empirical formula for estimating the distances from the epicenter of the explosion to a given place, the levels of the consequences of building destruction (complete, medium, small, moderate damage) can be established.

Background: Gastroduodenal bleeding (GDB) and the improvement of endoscopic hemostasis (EH) remain a priority in emergency surgery. This article presents the results of an experimental study of the effects of granular sorbents (Aseptisorb, Aseptisorb-A, Aseptisorb-D) on the system regulating the aggregate state of the blood using modern capabilities of piezoelectric thromboelastography (TEG). Methods and Results: The study involved 12 healthy volunteers (9/75% men and 3/25% women) aged between 18 and 58 years, with the average age of 34.0(26.0;44.0) years. For the study, the blood of healthy volunteers with normal indicators of the system regulating the aggregate state of the blood was used. In vitro experiments: Several tests were performed with the blood of each volunteer. In the first experiment (the control stage), the blood cuvette did not contain the test material. At the second stage of the experiment, the hemostatic properties of new generation granulated sorbents (Aseptisorb, Aseptisorb-A, and Aseptisorb-D) were studied. Experimental studies have shown that the use of granular sorbents Aseptisorb, Aseptisorb-A, and Aseptisorb-D in varying degrees affects the links of platelet and coagulation hemostasis, providing acceleration of thrombosis processes while increasing the maximum density of the clot. These effects determine the effectiveness of the clinical use of these sorbents to stop various types of bleeding. Conclusion: Experimental studies of the effect of granular sorbents on the system regulating the aggregate state of the blood using piezoelectric TEG have shown that the use of Aseptisorb, Aseptisorb-A, and Aseptisorb-D can significantly reduce the time of blood clotting and increase the maximum clot density, which determines the possibility of the use of these sorbents in endoscopic hemostatic treatment for GDB.

Objective – to investigate the features of platelet-vascular hemostasis in women with abnormal uterine bleeding on the background of submucosal uterine fibroids.Material and methods. The study included 30 women with abnormal uterine bleeding with submucosal uterine fibroids. Features of thrombocyte-vascular hemostasis were studiedResults. There are new data in relation to the features of certain links of the adjusting system of the aggregate state of blood on a background development of post hemorrhage anaemia. It is clearly shown that changes in the system of adjusting of the aggregate state of blood in women with a severe degree of anaemisation are the display of subclinical inopexi.Conclusions. Changes in the fibrinolytic potential of blood in women with chronic posthemorrhagic anemia on the background of abnormal uterine bleeding and submucosal uterine fibroids are secondary, due to the activation of thrombin and fibrinogenesis by external mechanisms.

Two hundred years have passed since the moment when Michael Faraday suggested the existence of substances of the fourth aggregate state. A long way has been spent studying plasma and its properties, searching for possible applications in various directions. Many specialists in various fields of medicine have conducted research on the use of unique properties of plasma for sterilization of equipment, treatment of various diseases and prevention of their complications. However, the potential of plasma use continues to open up novel ways of its application.

AbstractThere is always a need for efficient luminescent materials with simple synthesis and possible ease of hydrogen atom or functional group manipulation for use in different optoelectronic and biological applications. However, for certain real-world uses aggregation caused quenching effect of luminophores in their solid/aggregate state is undesirable, and is a cause of concern in areas, wherein the solid-state optical performance is more crucial. In this regard, chalcones have been explored for their ability to display aggregation-induced emission (AIE) or aggregation-induced enhanced emission (AIEE), which can be of practical use. This article is thus focused on an integrated evidence-based report on the AIE/AIEE-active chalcone systems for potential technological and biological applications. Graphic abstract

The structure and functions of the endothelium under normal conditions and a number of pathologies are reviewed in this work with the focus on its role in maintaining the balance between pro- and anticoagulant function of blood in different vascular beds. The role of endothelium in the synthesis and secretion of NO and other vascular regulators is highlighted. The mechanisms of its dysfunction, the role and interconnection of pathological changes in diseases such as atherosclerosis and hypertension are described.
