The works of three writers from northeast India, Temsula Aos These Hills Called Home , Mamang Dais Stupid Cupid and Anjum Hasans Lunatic in my Head that cover the problem of identity in relation to the insider - outsider politics in the region are examined. The northeast India is in many ways a miniature India because it houses people from various ethnicity and linguistic groups. However, much of the immigration took place after the East India Company annexed the northeast region starting from 1826. The extraction of the resources and subjugation of the people in this region by the colonisers and later by successive Indian governments has left an indelible mark of cultural imperialism triggering social haemorrhage. This changing position of the insider - outsider is not only a part of the political discourse but also the literature that is produced in this region. The analysis of the writings of Temsula Ao, Mamang Dai, and Anjum Hasan allows to look at the problem from two perspectives: the indigenous population experiencing anxiety and leading various violent campaigns to expel so-called outsiders, and the northeasterners facing similar racial prejudices when visiting mainland India and being subjected to derogatory racial slurs.

The Sage and His Mystic. A Look at the Correspondence Between Henri Pourrat and Jan Čep Henri Pourrat (1887-1959) is inextricably linked to his region of Auvergne and his work as well as his personality have left an indelible mark there. Although his influence gradually faded away after the Second World War, it can be measured by a veritable mass of letters exchanged with countless correspondents. He enjoyed a reputation as a writer, the success of which was confirmed by the award of the Grand Prix du Roman de l’Académie Française to the whole of Gaspard des montagnes in 1931 and by the award of the title of Chevalier de la Légion d’honneur in 1928. Jan Čep (1902-1974) was the translator of his works into the Czech language. Pourrat had sympathy for him because of the poetic inspiration that Čep drew from the same sources as him-self, that is, from the rustic world of the countryside, from its myths and legends. Pourrat perceived Čep as mystical because his work emanates from the deep metaphysical dimension. Faith thus plays the role of a bridge between the two men. For both of them it is the moving force in their lives. This is a full literary and spiritual contact that this article highlights.

Abstract Since their compilations in the tenth and eleventh centuries ce, the four hadith books, al-Kāfī, al-Faqīh, al-Tahdhīb, and al-Istibṣār, have left an indelible mark on Shiʿi religiosity. The present study takes as its starting point the earliest instance in which these four compilations were collectively referred to as the Four Books (al-kutub al-arbaʿa). I investigate the major developments in the period between the inception of this phrase in the fifteenth century and its consolidation as the demarcator of a unique Imami hadith corpus in the seventeenth century. Following the introduction, each section of the article focuses on a figure whose ideas contributed to this consolidation process. In the conclusion I summarize the findings of the previous sections and reflect on the notion of hadith canonicity within the context of Imami jurisprudence during the period under study.

Their long-lasting  dialogue with the literary dimension left an indelible mark on the Grandi Parodie: on the one hand they acquired an unprecedented textual depth, connecting them to the major narrative roots of the fictional world; on the other hand, they represented a crucial test for the varied team of Disney characters: the heroes of comics, from Mickey Mouse to Donald Duck, undertook the remarkable feat of interpreting the roles of renowned literary characters, showing a great adaptability as well as a strong personality. Disney characters function fundamentally as a mythical system: their stories constitutes an ever-changing whole, constantly updated to the time of their readers. Keywords: Comics. Grandi Parodie. AbstractOf all the socio-economic changes caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the disruption to workforce organizations will probably leave the largest indelible mark. The way work will be organized in the future will be closely linked to the experience of working under the same institution’s response to the pandemic. This paper aims to fill the gap in knowledge about smart working (SW) in public organizations, with a focus on the experience of the employees of two Italian research organizations, CNR and INGV. Analysing primary data, it explored and assessed how SW had been experienced following the implementation of governmental measures aimed at limiting the spread of COVID-19.

In modern conditions of dynamically developing knowledge, the demand for correct thinking remains an urgent problem. Unfortunately, the course of logic, and especially the history of logic is excluded from the educational program of preparation of many specialties. Although the knowledge of logical science, its laws, techniques and operations in the practical and theoretical work of not only the humanities, but also representatives of technical, natural and mathematical specialties can hardly be overestimated. In this article, the authors' idea is aimed at filling the existing gap and presenting an analysis of the history of its formation in the format of the history of culture and the history of philosophy, using a comparative approach. In the history of logical science, a significant place is occupied by the logic of al-Farabi, who in the Middle Ages left a bright, indelible mark in the field of many sciences with his original ideas. The article analyzes the contribution made to the development of the science of logic by al-Farabi, which in turn contributes to the formation of a culture of thinking and comes to the following conclusions: First, al-Farabi closely links formal logic with the science of language. However, he does not completely identify thinking and language, noting that language is ethnic, while thinking is universal. Secondly, the Second Teacher considers dialectics as belonging to formal logic, in it he sees a form and means of cooperation between people, etc.

Adversarial relationship best describes the history between the Kingdom of Manipur and Burma. As expected between neighbours, there had been frequent wars, alliance formation through intermarriages, trade ties, and cultural exchanges. The watershed in the bilateral relationships was the Burmese occupation during 1819-1826; a period described as the ‘Seven Years Devastation’. It was the last and the most destructive in the series of invasions that befalls the Kingdom of Manipur. Considered the darkest phase, the seven years left an indelible mark in the mindset of the Manipuris. The trail of destruction and devastation that the invading Burmese armies left in the psyche of the Manipuris are still retold in the popular folklore, ballads, and enacted in plays. It had left a penetrating impact on the social, economic, demographic, cultural, and even foreign relations of Manipur. Abstract David D. Hall’s book comprises a transatlantic history of the Puritan movement from its sixteenth-century emergence to its heyday under Oliver Cromwell and its subsequent political demise after 1660. Hall provides insights into the movement’s trajectory, including the various forms of Puritan belief and practice in England and Scotland and their transatlantic migration. In Hall’s sweeping view, Puritanism was a driving force for cultural change in the early modern Atlantic world and left an indelible mark on religion in America. The four reviewers praise Hall’s book for its monumental achievement, with Abram Van Engen emphasizing the centrality of Puritan theology. They place it within its historiographical context, as Evan Haefeli does by comparing it with Michael Winship’s Hot Protestants: A History of Puritanism in England and America (2018) and as Fred van Lieburg does by reminding us of the centuries-old German tradition of Pietismusforschung. The reviewers also raise critical questions as to the audience of Puritan publications and point to the benefits of studying Puritanism in an even wider comparative framework, one that looks forwards and backwards in time and one that speaks to the large, overarching questions raised by global history and digital humanities, including Andrew Pettegree’s ustc project. In his response David Hall begins by acknowledging the decades of Anglo-American scholarship on the Puritan movement on which his book builds, replies to points raised by the reviewers, and reflects on the situation of Puritan studies in the United States at this moment in time.

Theatre critic Michael Billington has spoken of Alan Bennett’s ‘peculiar radical nostalgia’ and described him as ‘a writer who believes in progress but who is irrevocably attached to his country’s cultural inheritance; and it’s specifically England, rather than Britain, that stirs his deepest sympathy’. This chapter analyses the radical nostalgia of two of Bennett’s dramatic characters, both traitors in exile: the Audenesque Hilary in The Old Country, who many people assumed was based on Kim Philby, and Guy Burgess in An Englishman Abroad. It probes the seeming paradox at the core of both plays, that these Soviet defectors continue imaginatively to inhabit, and long for, the country they betrayed. The chapter ends by quoting George Orwell’s essay The Lion and the Unicorn: Socialism and the English Genius, in which he explains the nagging resilience of Englishness—something that leaves an indelible mark on the traveller and the traitor alike, the way Ithaca left its mark on Odysseus.
