Is a developing country like Nigeria information rich or information poor? The first impression is of scarcity, but a closer examination reveals unexplored riches. There is a wealth of information in the oral tradition, but it is not found in schools and libraries. There is information in libraries, but language and reading level make it inaccessible to school children. What role might libraries play in resolving the information dilemma in Nigerian primary schools? This paper explores the use of resource generation from oral tradition, and information repackaging from oral and written sources, in creating an information and knowledge rich environment for all children.

Abstract Background Employees who engage in proactive burnout prevention can prevent burnout by changing aspects of the work, home, and personal domain. However, these proactive behaviors may be impeded by high initial levels of burnout. Based on the conservation of resources theory and the dual-pathway proactivity model, resources were expected to play a vital role in the relationship between proactive burnout prevention and burnout through two distinct processes: a resource-generation process in which proactive burnout prevention negatively affects burnout through an increase in resources, and a resource-depletion process in which proactive burnout prevention is hindered because high initial levels of burnout negatively affected resources. Methods A two-wave longitudinal panel design was used in which 617 employees, mainly employed in government agencies, healthcare and education, were asked to complete an online survey twice with an interval of 1 month. Results Results of structural equation modelling showed clear evidence for the resource-generation process in the work, home, and personal domain, and only limited evidence for the resource-depletion process. Solely in the personal domain a small negative indirect effect of burnout on proactive burnout prevention through personal resources was found. Conclusions The findings of this study confirm that employees can proactively prevent burnout by investing in resources, yet proactive actions should be taken before increased burnout-complaints impede employees to do so. This study contributes to scientific knowledge on proactive behaviors and burnout prevention by investigating the mechanism underlying the temporal relationship between proactive burnout prevention and burnout. An important practical implication of this study is that it highlights that more attention should be given to employees’ self-initiated actions to prevent burnout, as proactive burnout prevention can effectively reduce levels of burnout.

With the development of artificial intelligence in education, online education has been recognized by the society as a new teaching method. It can make full use of the advantages of the network across regions, and make full use of the advantages of network technology to share the resources of colleges and universities, which is a promising educational method. In response to the demand of online education for learner information, this paper proposes the learner model Neighbor Mean Variation Multi-Objective Particle Swarm Optimization-Genetic Algorithm (NMVMOPSO-GA). This model includes the learner’s learning interest sub-model, the learner’s cognitive ability sub-model and the learner’s knowledge sub-model. The modelling techniques of the three sub-models are discussed separately, and their status and role in the online education system are analyzed. At the same time, for the knowledge model that reflects the learner’s learning progress and knowledge mastery, a learner knowledge sub-model constructed with Bayesian networks is proposed. The neighbor mean mutation operator is introduced to optimize the multi-objective particle swarm optimization algorithm and improve the convergence performance and stability of the multi-objective particle swarm optimization algorithm. We study the application of multi-objective particle swarm optimization algorithm in online course resource generation service. Through simulation experiments, it is verified that the multi-objective particle swarm optimization algorithm can improve the performance and stability of online course resource generation.

Resource generation in health system provides mechanisms for training efficient and effective workforce and supplies facilities and equipment for delivering health services. Iran’s Health Transformation Plan is one of the major reforms implemented in 2014 designed to realize the scientific authority of the country among the countries in the region in horizon 2025 (Solar Year 1404). Therefore, the state of function of resource generation in the areas of education, research, and infrastructure suitable for provision of health services may provide valuable policy implications for informed decision-making. Therefore, the status of resource generation in the areas of education, research and infrastructure (focusing on human resources and medicine as two expensive and effective drivers) from the lens of productivity and equity can provide invaluable policy implications for informed decision-making. The function of resource generation in the three areas of education, research, and infrastructures of human resources and medicine in health system encounters many challenges in terms of productivity and equity. In this perspective paper, besides assessing these challenges in the light of available research evidence, it has been tried to identify these and aimed to suggest several policy recommendations in these areas for improving evidence-based policymaking.

The issues raised are based on the analysis and interpretation of the narratives of parents raising children with multiple profound intellectual disabilities, collected in a biographical study. The aim of the research was to try to understand and show the subjective meanings that parents give to their own resources, discovered in the course of the life that they build. Narrative interviews were conducted with twenty parents, who were selected non-randomly, based on their experience of the stress of changing their children’s educational institution. Analysis of the empirical material shows five sources of resource generation, i.e. sources of increased strength for parents in the course of their lives.

The article discusses the enactment of a strategic partnership undertaken by a large, multi-site company and several trade unions. The enterprise aimed to institute highly engaged practices of employee and management voice to create a collaborative culture throughout the organization. The study finds that five years since the inception of the project of institutional change, considerable challenges to its embedding and effectiveness remain. It also finds that particular characteristics of the partnership propose resource generation for addressing those challenges and progressing collaborative relations to mutual benefit. Substantive actor effort and organizational learning generate capacity for new relationships. That includes activation of moral capital including toleration, patience, mutual respect, reciprocity and trust.
