As a continuation of the work done in (R. Mukherjee (Pal), P. Pal and S. K. Sardar, On additively completely regular seminearrings, Commun. Algebra 45(12) (2017) 5111–5122), in this paper, our objective is to characterize left (right) completely simple seminearrings in terms of Rees Construction by generalizing the concept of Rees matrix semigroup (J. M. Howie, Fundamentals of Semigroup Theory (Clarendon Press, Oxford, 1995); M. Petrich and N. R. Reilly, Completely Regular Semigroups (Wiley, New York, 1999)) and that of Rees matrix semiring (M. K. Sen, S. K. Maity and H. J. Weinert, Completely simple semirings, Bull. Calcutta Math. Soc. 97 (2005) 163–172). In Rees theorem, a completely simple semigroup is coordinatized in such a way that each element can be seen to be a triplet which gives this abstract structure a much more simpler look. In this paper, we have been able to construct a similar kind of coordinate structure of a restricted class of left (right) completely simple seminearrings taking impetus from (M. P. Grillet, Semirings with a completely simple additive semigroup, J. Austral. Math. Soc. 20(Ser. A) (1975) 257–267, Theorem [Formula: see text] and (M. K. Sen, S. K. Maity and H. J. Weinert, Completely simple semirings, Bull. Calcutta Math. Soc. 97 (2005) 163–172, Theorem [Formula: see text]).

Abstract The article shows that the Coordinate Structure Constraint (CSC) can be violated in a number of languages and establishes a novel cross-linguistic generalization regarding languages that allow violations of the CSC. A phase-based deduction of this generalization is then provided under a particular contextual approach to phases. In addition, based on the cross-linguistic data regarding violations of the CSC, it is argued that the CSC should be separated into two conditions: (i) the ban on extraction of a conjunct, and (ii) the ban on extraction out of a conjunct. This means that the whole coordinate structure (ConjP) as well as individual conjuncts are islands independently of each other. The article also addresses the long-standing debate regarding where in the grammar the CSC applies, arguing that the two different conditions that result from the separation of the traditional CSC ((i) and (ii) above) are deduced from different mechanisms in the architecture of the grammar: one is a purely syntactic condition, and the other is an interface condition.

A design aspect of a three-dimensional workspace for an upcoming deployment stage of a new-generation manned space station with crews of several dozen people is considered. It is assumed that in the new closed layout of the station, the spatial core is its courtyard, which ensures productive and safe human activity not only in pressurized living and working modules, but also in an airless space. The aim of the work is to develop the concept for architectural illumination of the surface and the entire working space in the courtyard of the new-generation orbital station. The original layout diagram of the orbital station is presented. Its illumination is investigated by the method of computer geometric modelling. The most common orthogonal structures implemented in the MIR and ISS projects were chosen as the starting point for constructing the spatial structure of the orbital station. The illumination system is proposed that implements the operational and control functions of the crew members, as well as their orientation and positioning both in the spatial structure of the station itself and in the surrounding space. To implement these functions, two basic techniques for setting up remotely controlled stationary and mobile luminaires are proposed. The importance of highlighting the central axial structure of the station as a coordinate system for constant orientation is shown when people are located both in the inner space of the station and in the space of its yard. It is concluded that the illumination of the three-axis coordinate structure projected onto the outer space in relation to the station space, will give its perception a feeling of familiar stability.

This study dealt with effort of finding the lexical and grammatical ambiguity in English textbook of Bahasa Inggris for the tenth grade. The objectives of the study were to find out the types of ambiguity and to find out the dominant types of ambiguity in Bahasa Inggris of the tenth grade. The numbers of the data were 21 of reading texts which were taken from English textbook of Bahasa Inggris of the tenth grade. The types of ambiguities were identified based on Fromkin et al theory. The research design used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data were analyzed by Identifying , classifying, tabulating and interpreting. From 21 reading texts, there were 27 sentences that contained ambiguous meaning. There are two types of ambiguity found in reading texts, they were lexical and grammatical ambiguity. The lexical ambiguity consisted of homonym, polysemy and antonym. While  grammatical ambiguity consisted of coordinate structure, negation scope, active or passive meaning, gerund + object or participle modifying a noun, prepositional phrase (PP) as modifier or sentence adjunct, and a head  of inner modifier and outer modifier. The dominant type of lexical ambiguity was homonymy with 6 occurrences (20.68%). While the dominant type of grammatical ambiguity was coordinate structure as many as 8 occurrences (27.59%).

This paper takes into account some asymmetries found in Medieval Portuguese coordinate structures containing infinitival clauses. These are cases of coordination of a non-inflected infinitive with an inflected one and cases of apparent extraction of an element from the first clause of a coordinate structure. Both asymmetries can be eliminated if we assume that the coordination takes place at a higher structural level than that of the infinitival clauses; however, this solution entails that we have to postulate a gap in the second conjunct with the ellipsis of some elements (and/or the presence of some abstract elements) recoverable on the basis of elements expressed in the first conjunct. We show that only this more abstract hypothesis can explain in a direct manner the data examined in this work.

AbstractIn integrative analysis parametric or nonparametric methods are often used. The former is easier for interpretation but not robust, while the latter is robust but not easy to interpret the relationships among the different types of variables. To combine the advantages of both methods and for flexibility, here a system of semiparametric projection non-linear regression models is proposed for the integrative analysis, to model the innate coordinate structure of these different types of data, and a diagnostic tool is constructed to classify new subjects to the case or control group. Simulation studies are conducted to evaluate the performance of the proposed method, and shows promising results. Then the method is applied to analyze a real omics data from The Cancer Genome Atlas study, compared the results with those from the similarity network fusion, another integrative analysis method, and results from our method are more reasonable.
