The transformations through technological innovations have influenced the medical field. There are significant developments in medical devices in their usage. The utilization of the devices is automated in a local, remote environment. The medical devices used in the remote cyber environment uses different network protocols. These devices comprise micro, nanofabricated sensors and actuators which have the facility to communicate using network protocols. The devices that have network capability to integrate into cyberspace through physical methods are typical medical cyber physical systems (MCPS). In MCPS, medical device modelling is an important aspect. Several medical devices are available, and here in the current research, emphasis is focused on smart medical pumps in the MCPS environment. This chapter highlights the essential concepts of the smart medical drug delivery device, its architecture, control, actuation, communication, and analysis in the cyber environment.

The article summarizes information about seismic network in the Urals and Western Siberia region, describes processing technique, presents a short analysis of the seismic activity in 2015. Seismic network capability is shown for the whole territory under control. It was found that about 82 % of registered events are explosions in mines and open pits, 37 events are natural or induced ones. For the strongest induced events, variants of source parameters obtained by different agencies are shown. The strongest tectonic event in 2015 and for the last century (after 1914) is the Middle Ural earthquake with ML=4.7, I0=6 that occurred on October 18, 2015.

Seismic monitoring in the region in 2015 was carried out by a seismic network consisting of 59 stations. Digital equipment was installed at all stations in the second half of the year. The network capability was assessed by the level of seismic noise at the stations: in most of the region, the network provided registration of an earthquake from КR7.0, in the central (including the Greater Sochi region) and eastern parts of the region – КR6.0, and in some local zones with КR5.5. 2,276 earthquakes were registered, 17 earthquakes were felt in the settlements of the Caucasus. The maximum intensity VII at MSK-64 (SSI-17) scale was noted from the earthquake in the territory of Azerbaijan. The earthquake on November 3, which occurred on the platform territory within the Stavropol arch, felt IV at MSK-64. The strongest earthquakes were recorded in the Terek-Caspian and Kura troughs and in the eastern part of the Greater Caucasus. The seismicity of the North Caucasus in 2015 in accordance with the seismicity scale "SOUS-09" was set as the "background average" for the observation period from 1962 to 2015.

Objectives: Reducing garbage sorting and renewable resources recovery increment is an important content of promoting circulation economy development of China, based on the C city tobacco industry as an example, first the present situation of "two network convergence" in C city tobacco industry and results were analyzed, and then using accident tree analysis it is concluded that the tobacco industry "two nets fusion" are faced with the problem, and then establish orthogonalization discrete Hopfield neural network capability evaluation model, "two network convergence" By using Matlab to conduct network learning and training, simulation experiments and data analysis, the quantitative evaluation of the tobacco industry "two-network integration" ability of five cities including C city is objectively obtained. On this basis, the countermeasures for improving the tobacco industry "two-network integration" ability of China are given.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to explore the mechanism and boundary condition of the effect of managers' negotiable fate belief (NFB) on enterprise incremental and radical innovation based on social cognition theory and social network theory.Design/methodology/approachThe authors used Mplus and SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solutions) to test the proposed model with data from 278 enterprises that have established national or municipal enterprise technology centers. In this study, questionnaires were collected through commission and field investigation.FindingsThe results indicate that managers' NFB has a significant positive impact on local and cross-border knowledge search and on the incremental and radical innovation of enterprises. Knowledge search is positively correlated with enterprise innovation and can play a mediating role between the managers' NFB and enterprise innovation. Network capability can positively moderate the relationship between managers' NFB and cross-border knowledge search but has no significant impact on the relationship between managers' NFB and local knowledge search.Originality/valueAlthough there have been many studies of managers' cognition, little is known about how managers' NFB influences enterprise behavior and enterprise innovation. This study incorporates managers' NFB and knowledge search into the research model and examines the moderating effect of network capability between managers' NFB and knowledge search from an interactive perspective. By verifying the research model, this study offers original views on whether and how managers' NFB and knowledge search affect enterprise innovation.

PurposeDespite the noticeable consequences of disruptive financial innovations, access to finance remains a major factor inhibiting the sustainable-growth potentials of young micro-entrepreneurs in informal settings. This study examines the determinants of financing options among micro-entrepreneurs in informal settings. Specifically, the study seeks to establish whether credit history, income, asset, gender, awareness and network capability have effects on formal and informal financing options among micro-entrepreneurs in informal settings.Design/methodology/approachThis article uses the survey research design and administers a structured questionnaire among 300 purposively selected micro-entrepreneurs within the University of Lagos, Nigeria. Only 291 completed questionnaires are retrieved. This article also uses the multiple regression analysis to estimate the empirical model and test the research hypotheses respectively.FindingsThis article establishes that: (1) credit history and assets-based financing are significant determinants of formal financing options among young micro-entrepreneurs in informal settings, (2) gender and network capability are significant determinants of informal financing options among young micro-entrepreneurs in informal settings and (3) awareness is significant of both formal and informal financing options among young micro-entrepreneurs in informal settings.Originality/valueThis article examines the determinants of financing option among young micro-entrepreneurs in informal settings. Specifically, the study seeks to establish whether credit history income asset gender awareness and network capability have effects on formal and informal financing options among micro-entrepreneurs in informal settings.
