Medical education aims to produce competent medical professionals and gives emphasis on competency-based learning in Bangladesh. Medical ethics and professionalism are considered as a core competency. A competent physician can ensure patient-centered health care system. This was an effort to obtain data regarding the knowledge of recent medical graduates and the opinion of medical educational stakeholders and teachers about medical ethics and professionalism at undergraduate medical education in Bangladesh. This mixed-method study was conducted in two rounds. The Round I was conducted from January 2018 to June 2019 for assessing the knowledge of 308 recent medical graduates towards medical ethics and professionalism. In Round II, key informant interviews were conducted among 30 medical educational stakeholders and teachers from July 2020 to December 2020. Data were collected by pre-tested self administered semi-structured questionnaire and interview guidelines. The percentages of recent medical graduates who could give correct answers regarding autonomy, justice, presenting a subject to visual social media, breaching of confidentiality, organ donation and medical certificate were 19.8%, 54.9%, 73.1%, 37.3%, 91.6% and 74.4% respectively. Most of the medical educational stakeholders and teachers (80%) expressed their opinion related to curriculum. They also suggested for practicing ethics (20.0%) and training (20.0%). A gap was observed in the knowledge regarding medical ethics and professionalism of recent medical graduates. To improve practice of ethics and professionalism, enhancement of the knowledge by incorporating “medical ethics and professionalism” in curriculum might be considered. A separate compulsory module for training on medical ethics and professionalism can be added at pre-internship period for the recent medical graduates. AbstractVisum et repertum (VeR) is a medical certificate used for judicial needs in the form of a written report made by a doctor containing the results of the examination. VeR is one of the five legal pieces of evidence in court. Making a VeR that is not following hospital procedures can lead to the submission of evidence in court proceedings. This study aims to determine the standard procedure for implementing medical information for VeR and the types of cases for which a VeR is requested. This type of research is a literature review using Google Scholar and Garuda databases with a boolean system strategy. The flow of the implementation of patient medical information for VeR begins with the police submitting a letter of request for VeR to the hospital administration by bringing the requirements of an official request letter from the director of the hospital. The visa request letter and the report are placed in the Medical Record Installation for further processing by the Medical Record. The types of cases requested for VeR are divided into two, namely for living victims and dead victims. Living victims are divided into injuries, sexual crimes, and psychiatric. Keywords: literature review, visum et repertum (VeR), fixed procedure, type of request. AbstrakVisum et repertum (VeR) merupakan surat keterangan medis yang sifatnya dipergunakan untuk kebutuhan peradilan berupa laporan tertulis yang dibuat oleh dokter yang memuat hasil pemeriksaan. The crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic has undeniably affected many aspects of life from conveniences of everyday living to global economic repercussions. Due to the widespread mandated lockdowns early in the pandemic, the economy inevitably suffered greatly as evidenced by the stock market’s unpredictability (6) and the 1.8 trillion USD in bailouts to private sectors from the US government. (18) The pandemic imposes a significant strain on several aspects of life as we know it, but the substantial effects on the travel industry, with particular focus on the aviation industry, will be the focus of this paper. This paper discusses various challenges such as the overall effect on the airlines due to the considerable decrease in the revenue of airlines, effect on global cargo transportation, the airworthiness of the aircraft, the profound impact the pilots face concerning the maintenance of their medical certificate and flying currencies, the effects on the pilot’s mental health, public health challenges and various considerations for airlines moving forward. Despite these repercussions on the aviation industry due to the mandated shutdowns, the aviation industry had its challenges even before the COVID-19 pandemic. This literature review was conducted via search engines such as Google, Google Scholar, and PubMed with search keywords including “coronavirus, pandemic, aviation industry, lockdown, and airlines”.

This is a case of Adermatoglyphia or simply a loss of fingerprints in a young female patient in her 20s having a condition of hyperhidrosis and atopic dermatitis. At a young age, this condition can be very frustrating and give the patient a red flag in his/her carrier and during international travel. The patient faces problems in unlocking smartphones and electronic devices. The patient has to keep a medical certificate from a certified Dermatologist all the time for proof of this condition. Adermatoglyphia is not recognized as a problem in society and law enforcement agencies are not aware of this condition in detail, all over the world.
