This paper provides the results related to the study of role profile specificity in children on the autistic spectrum. Promising areas of a supportive model that based on the thorough knowledge of adaptive forms of distorted development briefly discussed. The article is based on results of the analysis and compilation of empirical data. Survey took place at Novosibirsk Secondary Schools (Russia). 30 school students (8-9 years of age) were interviewed and 15 of them represent a group with certain autistic features who were adapted well enough to mass schools. Findings show the role profile of children on the autistic spectrum, in a sense, may reflect different types of distorted links in relation to different types of the child’s emotional contact with other people. This paper presents the findings of the research, which can be used by educational psychologists in their support of educators of children on the autistic spectrum.

AbstractIn this article Sue Shreeve and Julie Hamley give an overview of how the subject support librarian role at UWE Bristol has evolved over the last five years, broadening from subject information specialist to encompass academic skills support and English language/communication skills support. They outline how they have implemented this change in role profile by evolving the skills set of the subject librarians and share some of the student online learning materials that have been created during this evolution in role.

Abstract This paper presents an approach for identifying team-roles. The proposed approach is based on the interpretation of a design process in terms of the behavior of the members of the team. Behavior is codified in terms of the team member’s process and physical activities. In this study a collaborative design process was recorded on video-tape and analyzed in detail. The process was decomposed into distinct sections called events. In every event each team member was assigned a team-role taking into consideration the activity of the team member, i.e. what the team member does, how activity of the team member, i.e. what the team member does, how the team member does it, and the context of the event. A graphical representation of the results called ‘role-profile’ was developed making it possible to clearly identify a basic team-role for every subject in the observed design process.

This study systematically assessed the various roles essential to managers in small vs. large firms. A sample of 352 managers from both large and small organizations in a variety of industries were asked to rate the various roles required by their positions. The analysis of variance results indicate that 7 of the 10 roles are influenced by firm size. A quadratic discriminant analysis was utilized to identify a role profile for managers in small vs. large firms. Implications for the practice and teaching of business are discussed.
