Abstract Variation laws of earth pressure accounting for the displacement of are taining wall can be well described by mathmatical fitting in the study of the relationship between earth pressure and retaining wall displacement. The common mathematical function expressions of earth pressure displacement of retaining wall can be divided into sinusoidal function model, exponential like function model, hyperbolic function model, fitting function and semi-numerical and semi-analytical model function, etc. The characteristics and shortcomings of the current expression of earth pressure displacement function are summarized. Then combined with the field test and model test, the applicability and characteristics of various mathematical functions in predicting the displacement of earth pressure with retaining structures are analyzed. The results show that when the displacement is small, the sinusoidal function model and the quasi-exponential function model are close to the measured results. When the displacement of retaining structure is large, the fitting results of hyperbolic model and semi-numerical and semi-analytical model are better. For the prediction of earth pressure displacement relationship in passive area, the buried depth has a great influence. And the error between the theoretical value and the actual value has a great influence on the fitting result of the model.

Abstract In measurement practice, the residuals in least squares adjustment usually show various abnormal discrete distributions, including outliers, which is not conducive to the optimization of final measured values. Starting with the physical mechanism of dispersion and outlier of repeated observation errors, this paper puts forward the error correction idea of using the approximate function model of error to approach the actual function model of error step by step, gives a new theoretical method to optimize the final measured values, and proves the effectiveness of the algorithm by the ability of responding to the true values. This new idea is expected to be the ultimate answer of robust estimation theory.

The end force of North-South permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (NS-PMLSM) fluctuates symmetrically with a period of one pole. Different from it, the end force’s fluctuation cycle of the consequent-pole permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (CP-PMLSM) is usually two poles and asymmetrical. Especially, within two half cycles, the end force presents complex asymmetric characteristics. In this paper, a piecewise function model of the end force of CP-PMLSM is established. Then a primary segmented design method for adjusting the period, symmetry and phase of the end force waveform is proposed. The two-segment and grouped four-segment modular distances are combined and matched to eliminate the odd-numbered harmonics of the end force and suppress the thrust ripple. A slotless primary core experimental platform and a slotted CP-PMLSM prototype are manufactured and tested to verify the theoretical analysis and simulation results.

Abstract Backfilling mining method is a green mining method which is being used widely, nevertheless, the uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) of the cement backfill paste (CPB) on site is difficult to measure, and it is impossible to know the internal cementation, for this reason, the rebound method is improved and introduced in this paper. Standard specimens of CPB were made and cured for different curing age under standard curing conditions. The hardness test of each part of the CPB is completed, the unconfined compression test is carried out, and the functional model of the hardness of each part of the CPB is established, which was a function of radius and age. Based on the nonuniformity of the filling material, the failure mode of CPB is analyzed and verified in the test. The results show that the exponential function model is more suitable for the relationship between the external hardness and the overall strength, and this conclusion is of great significance in construction site. In addition, the corresponding relationship between hardness and local strength was calculated and verified, the results show that the simple model can predict the variation of local strength with hardness better, and the quadratic function model is the best choice.
