First of all, let’s talk about the fact that monumental painting is the oldest form of fine art. In the early days of fine arts, the first examples of monumental painting were animals and hunting scenes depicting people on the ground, on rocks, and in graphic form. Such unique and magnificent artifacts can also be found in caves in the Pamir mountain ranges in our region. Over time, the monumental works have been polished, developed and continue to evolve.

Abstract In this essay I discuss the significance of theories and classifications that appear in the material and graphic form of race and place name inscriptions on human skulls. I argue that human skulls themselves provided a site for the inscription of raciological thought, a privileged location for abbreviating broader conceptions of differences and distributions of ‘human races’. I will draw on the history of race science in 19th-century Europe to explore how and why certain race and place names were inscribed onto skulls, and the effect of this form of inscription on the shaping of theories in the racial sciences during this period. The article especially considers the work of the French anthropologists Armand de Quatrefages and Ernest-Théodore Hamy, who systematically wrote inscriptions on the skulls they were studying in the context of Crania Ethnica, arguably the most ambitious project of global racial craniology undertaken in the late 19th century.

The paper is about four channel microprocessor system for temperature measurement during static and running mode. It incorporates microcontroller type PIC18F452 and employs sensors which convert temperature into voltage. In addition it features optional connection to a PC for storing and processing amassed data. Based on this system a new method is proposed for analysing overheating and cooling of individual parts of asynchronous electric machines. A set of differential equations is derived which later on are processed by MATHCAD software. Obtained results can be presented in tabular or graphic form. The outcome of resolving this task is in the relative ease with which it is possible to establish overheat of various machine parts. Similarly, such approach could be applied with other types of electric machines.

The article represents the next part of the periodical publications of the Department of Economic Research in the field of cost analysis of the Polish international freight transport companies. It summarises and makes comparative assessments of the average unit costs of these companies for the 2019 in relation to the results of the previous period. The survey involved carriers operating on the Eastern markets. The article presents the statistical characteristics of the entities surveyed, taking into account their size, determined based on the number of the fleet’s heavy goods vehicles operated. It also shows how, the average costs of one vehicle-kilometre (veh-km) of mileage for a truck above 12.0 Mg GVW, are shaped, according to the size of the companies and taking into account the destinations of transport. The generic costs structure of the companies examined, has also been analysed. Presented in the tabular and graphic form is the evolution of unit costs for both 2019 and the whole 2009-2019 period.

Difficulties in registering a color as a trademark arise for many reasons. The author questions the existence of a distinguishing ability of a color sufficient for a trademark to perform its function serving as a means of individualization, as well as its functionality and capability to be presented in graphic form. Due to the strongest visual component, it is in the light industry where there is the greatest demand for registration of colors as trademarks. Thus, the light industry is rich in examples of registration, as well as attempts to register, such designations. Most representative examples are the red color of the sole of Christian Louboutin shoes and turquoise color associated with Tiffany & Co. At the same time, in Russia there is no normative basis, judicial practice, or doctrinal studies that would allow us to develop the principles of determining the existence of discernible ability of color or approaches to their establishment. Thus, the paper relies broadly on the legislative and enforcement experience of foreign legal systems that allow us to trace the different logic of compliance of color symbols with trademark criteria, as well as limits for establishing rights to color symbols, which can be useful for adapting best practices in our country.

Purpose: The aim of the experiment presented in this study was to determine the pressure distribution within the forefoot depending on the type of orthopaedic footwear used. Methods: The study included 27 women aged 20 to 25. The Zebris FDM-2 dynamographic platform was used in foot pressure measurements. The load distribution was measured in three types of orthopaedic footwear: MedSurg, MedSurgPro and OrthoWedge. The full gait cycle was recorded. The Cavanagh masks were applied to the load distribution results processed into a graphic form. The data were analysed using Statistica v.13.1. Results: In the forefoot area, i.e. the metatarsal bones and toes 1–5, the lowest loads were reported in the shoes that off-load the forefoot (0.2 N/cm2, p < 0.001). In the area of the first to fifth metatarsal bones and the hallux, the highest load was observed in the rocker shoe, accounting for 19.7 N/cm2 (p < 0.001). For comparison, high pressure in the flat shoe was found in the area of toes 2 to 5 (p < 0.001). Conclusions: In the area of the metatarsal and toe bones, the pressure exerted was highest in the commonly used rocker shoe. The flat shoe provides an even and uniform load in all areas of the forefoot, while this type of shoe does not significantly reduce the pressure forces on the forefoot. The shoe that was the most effective in off-loading was the forefoot off-loading shoe (OrthoWedge). Barefoot walking puts less load on the forefoot compared to the flat and rocker shoes used after orthopaedic procedures.

The article investigates the approach based on "musical reading", developed by music teacher Mikhail Gnesin in the early XXth century. The paper studies the prerequisites, basic provisions and principles of "musical reading" as a highly emotional way of reading a poetic text by note, preserving the nature and specific features of human speech. The author reveals a connection between M. Gnesin's ideas and B. Asafiev's intonational concept. A step-bystep "musical reading" integration into the practical work of theatre actors is considered. The rhythmic reading approach is described and the examples of using various metrhythmic means of musical expression to convey the emotional and semantic content are given. Introduction of speech intonation into music is discussed both in terms of the fixation of the specific characteristics of speech intonation in graphic form and applying this method in practice. The article concludes the prospects of using the method of "musical reading" by the professional theatre artists and arts students (developing speech-based choirs, ensembles and dialogues according to the laws of musical harmony; creating unique speech-and-music works, where human voice with its specific timbre and accompaniment are integral parts of the artistic whole).

This article is dedicated to the analysis of techniques of external enrichment of terminology of the Vietnamese language. An attempt is made to examine the phenomenon of borrowing of foreign words in military terminology of the modern Vietnamese language. The author explores the factors of borrowing, carries out classification by origin and source of borrowing. The relevance of this work is defined by the need to systematize knowledge on the foreign borrowings in military terminology of Vietnamese language at the current stage of its development, rapid advancement of military science, new technologies, integration of Vietnam into the global community, and, thus, the emergence of vast foreign lexicon from Western languages, including in terminology. The novelty consists in systematization, generalization, and analysis of the methods of foreign borrowing in Vietnamese language and sectoral terminologies, particularly in military terminology. The conclusion is made that military terminology of Vietnamese language contains 80% of borrowings from foreign languages. According to the source of borrowing, foreign words are divided into two groups: of Sino origin (Hán Việt), and of Indo-European origin. The basis of borrowings is comprised of the terms of Hán Việt origin, which in have assimilated and currently are fully functional units of Vietnamese language. At the present stage, most of the words are borrowed from the English language; the majority of loanwords from European languages in Vietnamese language are attributes to semantic (word-forming and semantic calques). This method of borrowing often makes the terms too complex, difficult to remember and use. Borrowings from European languages, which currently infiltrate into Vietnamese language without changing their graphic form, are pronounced in accordance with the phonetic norms of Vietnamese language.
