Background: Phytoestrogens have recently become a hot topic among scientists. Phytoestrogens’ estrogen-like properties have led to their widespread use in the reproductive system. The aim of this research was to see whether the ethanolic extract of Bambusa arundinaceae, Trichosanthes dioica and Punica granatum had any estrogenic activity in female wistar rats. Methods: In female wistar rats, the estrogenic effect was studied using a uterotropic assay, vaginal cytology and vaginal opening. In ovariectomized immature and mature female wistar rats, a 400 mg/kg body weight (b.w.) dose of ethanolic extract of Bambusa arundinaceae, Trichosanthes dioica and Punica granatum was given. Result: When compared to ovariectomized control rats, the uterine wet weight increased significantly. The estrogen-treated rats had only cornified epithelial cells, indicating the existence of oestrogen, as well as 100% vaginal opening. At 400 mg/kg b.w., the ethanolic extract of Bambusa arundinaceae, Trichosanthes dioica and Punica granatum demonstrated promising estrogenic activity, as evidenced by uterotropic assays, vaginal opening measurements and histopathological changes. As a result of this research, it’s possible to infer that the ethanolic extract of Bambusa arundinaceae, Trichosanthes dioica and Punica granatum play an important role in estrogenic activity in female rats.

To find out classical references for use of Lasuna in various female disorders along with its review of recent research on effect of Lasuna in management of female disorders. Classical reference of Lasuna for female disorders find out majorly in Kashyap Samhita. Whereas various recent research suggest that Lasuna has hypolipidemic, antifungal, antibacterial, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, Phyto estrogenic effect that’s why it is very useful in PCOD, Pelvic inflammatory diseases, Dysmenorrhea, Infertility, PMS etc. Lasuna is certainly nectar for gynecological problems, which is mentioned in Ayurveda classics and significantly proved by modern scientific evidence also.

Background: Natural Phytoestrogens present in plants are effective hormonal replacement therapy. They are converted to estrogenic substances in the gastrointestinal tract which is considered as the natural alternative to estrogen substitute treatment for postmenopausal women. Aim and Objective: Salvia officinalis, a herb traditionally used to ameliorate postmenopausal complications, can provide a safe alternative to synthetic pharmaceuticals for the treatment of menopause. Therefore, it is conceivable to detect the possible estrogenic effect of Salvia Officinalis extract as an estrogen replacement therapy in female mice. Methods: Phytochemical, pharmacological, and immune histopathological techniques are adopted in this study. HPLC is used for identification of extracted constituents of sage herb. The uterotrophic activity of the extract was determined in immature female mice. Moreover, the mean thickness and luminal epithelium and the photomicrographs of the luminal epithelium of the uterus were also studied. Results: HPLC revealed that quercetin is the major extracted constituent (28.6%) of the total components. Saliva Officinalis extract produced a significant increase in the uterine dry weight of equal potency to estrogen. The uterus exhibited a significant increase in luminal epithelial cell height (43.3 ± 6.1μm and 36.5 ± 2.5μm) for estradiol and sage extract, respectively, compared with the control group (18.2 ± 3.5μm). Furthermore, the endometrium showed the lining epithelium formed of a single layer of columnar epithelium. The stroma seemed more voluminous with dilated vasculature. Conversely, the myometrium within the uterus was not affected in any of the experimental groups. Conclusion: The sage herbs induced proliferative changes in the uteri of treated mice which suggest possible estrogenic properties. Saliva Officinalis extract can be used as a hormonal replacement for women during menopause and could be further explored for contraceptive use.

Abstract Objectives Estrogen plays an important role in for growth and development of reproductive system in female. The major royal jelly (RJ) has a significant estrogenic-like effect for many female animals. The major RJ proteins (MRJPs) are the central constituents responsible for the physiological activities of RJ. In recent years, we have found that MRJPs possesses functions to increase fecundity associated with estrogenic effect in Drosophila. However, if MRJPs are the specific active ingredient mediating estrogenic effect of RJ and related action mechanism in mammalians remains unclear. Methods Neonatal immature female mice (FC) were divided into four groups fed MRJPs with doses of 0, 125, 250 and 500 mg/kg/body weight (M125, M250 and M500), respectively. The freeze-dried MRJPs powder was administrated daily for 45 consecutive days. The effects of MRJPs on the puberty onset, ovarian follicular development and serum estradiol levels in FC were evaluated. Results The times of estrus in M125, M250 and M500 were accelerated by 10.7%, 15.5% and 10.7%, the ovarian index of M125 and M250 and M500 were increased by 26.8% and 32.1% and 1.7%. The number of secondary follicles in M125 and M250 and M500 were increased by 50.7%,78.8% and 38.6%, the Graafian follicles in M125 and M250 and M500 were increased by 600.0% and 774.0% and 150.0%. M500 induced multi-oocyte follicles. The serum estradiol levels of M125, M250 and M500 were increased by 47.1%, 64.9% and 31.1%, the action of MRJPs raising hormone secretion level is mainly via upregulating expression of ERβ gene. Antioxidant parameters of ovarian tissue showed that the malondialdehyde levels in M125 and M250 were decreased, the superoxide dismutase activities and glutathione peroxidase activities in M125 and M250 were increased, respectively. Conclusions Oral administration of MRJPs may accelerate onset of puberty and promote follicular development in immature FM. The reproductive performance promotion of MRJPs was associated with raising estrogenic activity and antioxidant potential to reproductive system, upregulating expression of ERβ gene to raise hormone secretion and promote ovary development in FM. Medicinal Plants were used from the ancient to the modern era and has proved in treating and preventing many different types of diseases which are not treatable with other means of treatment. The present study was aimed to prove the anti-fertility activity of Decaschistia crotonifolia leaves on female wistar rats. The extracts were mainly estimated for their anti-implantation activity by taking mainly 2 dose levels: 200 & 400 mg/kg, respectively. The extracts were also tested for their hormonal alteration effects on female wistar rats.  The reports obtained in this study strongly prove the anti-fertility potential of leaves extracts of Decaschistia crotonifolia, as the extracts has shown a potential decline in the formation of implants (100%), and also the increase in uterine weight projects its estrogenic effect in Ovariectomised rats. Hence by considering the above-mentioned results, it may be proved that the leaves extracts of D. Crotonifolia poccess strong anti-fertility activity.
