Purpose: The cosmetics industry is one of the major industries that have attracted many players due to its rapid growth. The cosmetics industry plays an important role in developing the country's economy. This study is being taken up to better understand the contribution of the beauty industry to the development of the country and to evaluate the strategies of these companies. Nykaa is one of the leading companies in the cosmetics industry. It offers various products of different brands on one platform. Its setup by Falguni Nayar in 2012. She anticipated the huge opportunity in online trading in the coming years and converted that opportunity into a big vision. Her decision was not wrong it turned into building a large-scale business. By operating multinational, it attracts customers from various regions. Initially, it started the business by offering beauty products later on diversified with fashion, skincare, luxury products. This study is conducted to evaluate the strategies used by NYKAA to be one of the top companies in E-Commerce. Research Methodology: In this paper, an attempt is made to evaluate financial performance, Competitor’s analysis, CSR, Marketing and Inventory strategy, SWOC framework of Nykaa as a research case study. Findings: From the study, it’s clear that Nykaa is doing very well in E-retailing and gives tough competition to rival firms. Giving a platform to small entrepreneurs to grow along with their successful journey. Originality: Various performance analysis techniques are used to appraise the NYKAA accomplishment. Paper type: Research Case study.

In response to the digital revolution, nowadays, many companies operate online and offline businesses in parallel to ensure their future competitiveness. This research examines the inventory strategy for multi-product vendor-buyer supply chain systems, considering space constraints and carbon emissions, in order to improve competence in managing online and offline integrated orders. We amalgamate costs and emissions in transport and storage. Here, we divide the warehouse of the buyer into two stages: one for satisfying online orders and the other for satisfying offline orders. We also assume that additional crashing costs reduce the lead times for receiving products in the buyer’s warehouse. This study demonstrates a mathematical model in the form of a constrained non-linear programme (NLP) and derives a Lagrangian multiplier method to solve it. An iterative solution procedure is designed in order to attain sustainable manufacturing decisions, which are illustrated numerically.

Under the background of the new medical reform, the pharmaceutical industry is in constant transformation and upgrading, and the establishment of a rational and efficient pharmaceutical logistics system is imminent. Carbon emission, cost and time are set as the target to construct the model of location-routing-inventory optimization of highway, rail and air transport hubs with capacity limits. Then the warehouse of pharmaceutical logistics hub is selected, and the distribution path of pharmaceutical logistics and the inventory strategy are planned to realize the scientific decision of the system. The NSGA-III algorithm is used to solve the problem. The diversity of the population is maintained by the well-distributed reference points, and the optimal solution set of nondominant Pareto is obtained. Spacing, HRS, PR and GD are used to measure the performance of the algorithm. The example analysis shows that the number of Pareto optimal solutions solved by the algorithm is large and evenly distributed, and convergence and operation efficiency of algorithm is good. The sensitivity analysis of three kinds of freight rates shows that the influence of the freight rates on the objective function value should be fully considered when making decisions. The method focuses on the problem of optimizing the layout of multi-modal transport hubs and improves the existing theories of it.

For any company, whether big enterprises or small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), inventory is one of the key assets. Therefore, inventory-related decisions directly influence the revenue generated by the firm. This work aims to find a sufficient degree of control over each inventory item and to mitigate the inventory management problems of SMEs. Rank Order Clustering (ROC) algorithm is used in this study for multi-item inventory item aggregation. The proposed framework is tested on a medium-sized gearmanufacturing firm that manufactures 40 different types of planetary and customized gear-boxes. The results demonstrate 47.64 % of cost-saving through the proposed methodology of cluster formation using ROC and quantity discounts. This approach helps to identify different assemblies to aggregate the component requirements and to formulate a particular inventory strategy to minimize inventory carrying costs for each component.
