As student creativity is increasingly emphasized in English as a Foreign Language education, it is necessary to consider instructional techniques to encourage it. This study examines the effectiveness of two instructional techniques on creative writing performance of English as a Foreign Language students in a South Korean university. These techniques are variations of brainstorming known as mind mapping and SCAMPER. Survey data from the participants ( n = 39) were analysed to determine which technique resulted in higher levels of perceived creative output (essays). Additionally, a creativity rubric was developed and used to assign analytic scores to the essays to examine the relative benefits of the two techniques for high and low creative ability students. Results show that SCAMPER produced statistically significantly higher levels of perceived creative output. The essays written using SCAMPER generally received higher creativity scores than those written using mind mapping, though this difference was not statistically significant. Finally, results suggest that both techniques may help to narrow the performance gap between high and low creative ability students.

Every newspaper has its form, structure, and pattern. The Yorùbá News published between 1924-1945 was not an exception, as it comprised of different contents ranging from the editorial opinion to home news, gossip, adverts, and serialization of different forms of narratives. D.A. Ọbasa, the publisher ́ of The Yorùbá News, also published many works of poetry. Ọbasa started the publication of excerpts of his poems in The Yoruba News under the column “Àwọn Akéwì.” Serializing these poems, therefore, means issuing them regularly and consecutively in diferent editions of the newspaper. In the various scholarly engagements with Ọbasa’s works, little or no attention has been given to the serialization of his poems in Te Yorùbá News. The focus of this easy therefore is to fill this gap by highlighting and documenting the serialized poems of Ọbasa in Te Yorùbá News. Trough intertextuality theory, the easy aims at appraising how Ọbasa transfer his knowledge of the Yorùbá oral literature to his readers through his application of oral poetic form from his serialized poems. Tis work will therefore dwell on Intertextuality and its influence on the works of Ọbasa, which will enable us to discuss his creative ability as a cultural activist.

Mathematics creativity is very important in studying mathematics at every level of education but less attention is paid to it in the teaching-learning process and this has resulted to poor performance in the subject. The study investigated how activity based learning approach can enhance the creative skills of primary school pupils. A sample of 185 pupils from six purposively selected government owned primary schools in Owerri west local Government area of Imo state was used for the study. The study was a quasi-experimental research type adopting the pre-test, posttest non equivalent control design. The instrument for data collection was a researcher made objective test titled “Mathematics Creativity Test (GAT)”Instrument which had reliability coefficient of 0.79 determined using Kuder-Richardson formula (KR21). The experiment group was taught geometric concepts using Activity-Based Learning Approach while the control group was taught using the traditional approach. The data generated was analyzed using mean and standard deviation to answer research questions while the hypotheses were tested using ANCOVA statistical tool at 0.05 level of significance. The result of the study revealed that Activity-Based Learning Approach enhanced pupils’ mathematics creative ability irrespective of gender and ability levels. Based on the result, it was recommended that Mathematics teachers at the primary school level should apply pupils centered approaches such as activity-based learning approach in teaching to enhance pupils’ creativity in mathematics.

This study aims to contribute to the field of contemporary art-technology by leaving a historical-artistic touch in line with the function of the fine arts on our ‘senses’ that were conceived, imagined, and took place on the stage by dint of human labor and creative ability during the absence of technology. The prominent outcome shows that an integrated Opera where optics and acoustics dominate and the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist is among the auditory-visual spectacles of the scene that one which has the most need for ‘artificial visions’.The study has shown that the ideal of achieving a holistic work of art, by aestheticizing the ‘scenic space’ has been stated by the Italian scenographer Pietro Gonzaga (1751-1831) in one of his several theoretical treatises: “À Propos d'Optique Théâtrale”(About Theatre Optics) stamped in 1807 in St. Petersburg before Richard Wagner's (1813–1883) conception of the total work of art has been professed. The scenographer has particularly considered that the stage which contains the show and its simulation in the place where the event takes place could itself be expressive. The study concludes by referring to the clairvoyant point of view of a scenographer who could be regarded as the pioneer of modern day directing art, that the total work of stage art took place in 18th -19th centuries is envisaged to function as a kind of television screen.

One of the key points at which Platonism and magic or what could be called ‘Platonic magic’ is found in Edmund Spenser’s Faerie Queene is in his use of the image of the classical Titan Prometheus. Examining Spenser’s text in light of Renaissance Platonist Giovanni Pico della Mirandola’s writings on magic, we can see that Prometheus serves as a model for Spenser’s tremendous creative ability as a ‘poet magus’. However, an examination of the Promethean qualities of ‘Two Cantos of Mutabilitie’ also reveals that in the final sections of The Faerie Queene Spenser appears to lose hope in the Promethean power of the poet.

The ability to produce novel ideas is central to societal progress and innovation; however, little is known about the biological basis of creativity. Here, we investigate the organization of brain networks that support creativity by combining functional neuroimaging data with gene expression information. Given the multifaceted nature of creative thinking, we hypothesized that distributed connectivity would not only be related to individual differences in creative ability, but also delineate the cortical distributions of genes involved in synaptic plasticity. We defined neuroimaging phenotypes using a graph theory approach that detects local and distributed network circuits, then characterized the spatial associations between functional connectivity and cortical gene expression distributions. Our findings reveal strong spatial correlations between connectivity maps and sets of genes devoted to synaptic assembly and signaling. This connectomic-transcriptome approach thus identifies gene expression profiles associated with high creative ability, linking cognitive flexibility to neural plasticity in the human brain.

Dance creation involves complex psychological activities. Although previous studies have conducted extensive investigations on the psychological aspects of choreographers’ creations, little is known regarding the psychological barrier of choreographers in terms of creativity. The study aims to explore the psychological barrier of innovation in dance choreography, which is a kind of situation between mental illness and mental problems. The research shows that improvisational dance is a free dance with the human body as a material carrier, and it is a dance form that the dancer’s thinking is transformed into dance action to express their inner thoughts. The improvement of the potential creative thinking of dance creators through the improvisational dance movement and structure are explored. Meanwhile, the theoretical ideas of psychologists have been applied to the cultivation and improvement of improvisational dance creativity, which has made full certification and supplement. Moreover, through psychological experiments, it is proved that improvisational dance is an important way to release and develop creativity. Based on the theory of psychology, feasible suggestions are given to improve students’ creative ability in the process of improvisational dance teaching.
