September 1932 marks the hundredth anniversary of the opening of b. Alexandria Theater, now the State Drama Theater. This jubilee takes place on the 15th anniversary of October, coinciding with the beginning of the second five-year plan, the five-year plan for building a classless society, the five-year plan, which should eliminate the remnants of capitalist elements not only in the economy, but also in the minds of people.

Endowed with an in-depth and insightful analysis of the Church’s reality and the charism of reading the signs of the times, one of the greatest Polish pastoralists, founder of the Light-Life Movement, Fr. Franciszek Blachnicki (21 March 1921–27 February 1987) insistently postulated making the “Copernican turn” in the Church’s saving ministry. On the hundredth anniversary of his birth, it is worth looking at the guiding principles of the Congregation for Clergy Pastoral conversion of the parish community in the service of the Church’s evangelizing mission (29 June 2020) and analyze to what extent Blachnicki’s concept of pastoral conversion regarding the renewal of the parish is still valid and estimate whether it can still be an inspiration in pastoral discussions on the realization of the Church hic et nunc.

AbstractBruce Merrifield (1921‒2006) was an American biochemist who, at the Rockefeller Institute, invented a highly efficient technique for producing peptides and proteins in the early 1960s. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1984. We remember this highly original, low-profile contributor to chemistry on the occasion of the one hundredth anniversary of his birth.

This year we celebrate the hundredth anniversary of his birth. The main stages of his biography are presented, directions of his scientific, organizational, social and medical activity are described. Boris Markovich Datskovsky was an outstanding person, excellent teacher and lecturer, talented scientist, highly qualified dermatovenerologist and manager of public healthcare.

On the occasion of its one hundredth anniversary, one bank opened a time vault. A group of indebted Croatian citizens decided to place their final testimony in it: The Black Book, a document containing all their memories, testimonies or references to the 2016 climax of the bank crises triggered by the sudden, unexpected inflation of the CHF. In exactly one hundred years someone will open this book, and thus re-discover the economy’s frank face. Meanwhile, Montažstroj offers a performance about the European precariat and the influences of debt-economics in our lives, not only financial, social and political, but existential as well. Their performance is, therefore, put in the context of contemporary political economic theories, mainly because of the intertextual connections with the contract with the Devil notion from Christopher Marlow’s Doctor Faustus, while critical references to Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari, Jacques Derrida, Maurizio Lazzarato, Bernard Stiegler and Franco Berardi Bifo, attempt to re-contextualize the performance’s strategies in a wider problematic field of the decay of capitalism.

Literary translation is one of the most difficult and complex types of translations, especially when it comes to translating poetry and the graphic images it carries, as these images are an expressive tool, as we find that the metaphor tops the verses of the Spanish 27-generation poets, the generation that emerged after the celebration of the three hundredth anniversary of the death of the poet Louis De Gongra, because of the conditions in which they lived and the censorship they were subjected to during the period of General Franco's regime, the metaphor was a means of expressing the lived reality, which links the tangible with the abstract, and calls the reader to the realization of thought as a result of implicit sayings difficult to understand. If the original text is difficult to understand, how The transfer to the other language, in which the matter will become more complicated to decode the content of each borrowing and reformulate it in the language transferred to it, and thus the translation of the metaphor is among the most important issues that occupy translation in its theoretical and practical parts. Through this intervention, we touched upon the study of the pragmatic dimension of translating a metaphor in the poetry of the 27th generation, focusing in that on studying the competencies of the translator when transmitting it, and we raised the following problem: What are the linguistic and translation tools that help to investigate the pragmatic dimension in decoding the content of the metaphor in the original text And to achieve the goal of the writer? Our aim of this research is to finally highlight these tools that help the translator in his work and convey this type of images with the same meaning and effect.

April 2016 marked the four-hundredth anniversary of the deaths of both Miguel de Cervantes and William Shakespeare, with a noticeable lack of attention paid to the former in relation to the latter, even in Spain. A relative lack of film adaptations of Cervantes’s works has been construed as a symptom and cause of the Spaniard’s lack of visibility at home and abroad. This chapter probes this assertion and explores the dialectic between commemorative culture and Spanish screen fictions based on the life and works of Cervantes. Included are discussions of Francoist appropriations of the symbolism of Cervantes in Spanish national heritage, and the attempts to reappropriate those same images in the democratic era through film.
