Abstract Background: To review the highlights of the registered dietitian accreditation system in China, including history, organization, regulatory policies, certification requirements, development, and performance on the certification examination, registration, and continuing education, the process for the accreditation system development was focused. The data from the certification examinations and registrations were collected and analyzed. The eligibility requirements, as well as practice pathways, were discussed. Lessons learned from the development of the registered dietitian accreditation system, opportunities, challenges, and future directions for the field were discussed. There remain needs for well-established degree programs and a professional organization’s maintenance with endeavouring in job opportunities, as well as legislative concerns.

Software requirements changes become necessary due to changes in customer requirements and changes in business rules and operating environments; hence, requirements development, which includes requirements changes, is a part of a software process. Previous studies have shown that failing to manage software requirements changes well is a main contributor to project failure. Given the importance of the subject, there is a plethora of efforts in academia and industry that discuss the management of requirements change in various directions, ways, and means. This chapter provided information about the current state-of-the-art approaches (i.e., Disciplined or Agile) for RCM and the research gaps in existing work. Benefits, risks, and difficulties associated with RCM are also made available to software practitioners who will be in a position of making better decisions on activities related to RCM. Better decisions can lead to better planning, which will increase the chance of project success.

An overview is provided of the manner in which hydrodynamic and hullform-related design considerations were addressed in the development of the BAE SYSTEMS team’s design proposal for the UK Future Aircraft Carrier (CVF). It also outlines how broader design considerations such as aviation, survivability and supportability requirements influenced these aspects of the design. A summary is also provided of some of the more detailed requirements development, option assessment and performance evaluation work that has been undertaken. The aircraft carrier designs discussed in this paper correspond to the BAE SYSTEMS team’s final design submission as it stood in January 2003, at the time it was discontinued by the UK Ministry of Defence, in favour of the rival Thales / BMT team design that has since been developed into the UK Royal Navy’s new ‘Queen Elizabeth’ class aircraft carrier. This final BAE SYSTEMS design submission consisted of two distinct design variants - one configured to operate a CTOL-based air group, the other configured to accommodate a STOVL air group. Both variants were based on a common ‘core’ ship design. The discussion presented in this paper is applicable to both variants.

The article analyzes the results of operation of a relatively new type of centrifugal pump - a submersible (floating) centrifugal pump with a hydraulic drive. These pumps have a number of significant advantages over centrifugal pumps installed on mobile fire fighting equipment - they can be used to pump liquid from a mark up to minus 30 m. Since the suction pipe of such a pump is located directly in the pumped liquid (below the liquid mirror level), the phenomenon of cavitation is practically excluded. Submersible pumps are used to supply water in case of fire and for water disposal during the elimination of hazardous hydrological phenomena, both independently and in conjunction with centrifugal pumps installed on mobile fire fighting equipment (supply to pumping). All submersible pumps included in the set of hose-pumping complexes are of foreign production. The demand for such pumping units causes the need to develop domestic samples in order to get away from import dependence in the manufacture of pumping and hose systems and their operation. Based on the practice of using submersible pumps and the technical characteristics of submersible pumps produced by leading foreign companies, the following technical requirements for the development of a domestic submersible pump have been formulated. Pump delivery is 170-180 l ∙ s from the mark to minus 30 m. Water intake is possible both in equipped (adapted) and unequipped (unsuitable) places. In addition, the requirements for the hydraulic drive, weight and size characteristics, and some components have been formulated. In conclusion, some directions for the further development of pumping and hose systems and submersible pumping stations are considered.

Abstract The requirements, development, packaging characteristics and existing reliability problems of high density packaging T/R modules are introduced, and the importance of reliability design is recognized. Aiming at the reliability problems of Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC), heat dissipation and electrostatic discharge, the reliability design and simulation scheme are given, and some cases are provided. Through design analysis and improvement, the reliability of 3D high density packaging T/R modules can be effectively improved.

This article contains a systematic literature review of requirements engineering for software systems. The literature published within last 5 years was included into the review. A research question was defined as requirements development process of large scale software system (with thousands of requirements) and an interaction problem during this process (communication, coordination and control). The problem is caused by the fact that large-scale software system requirements process is a cross-disciplinary task and it involves multiple parties — stakeholders, domain experts, and suppliers with own goals and constrains, and thus, the interaction between them seriously slows down the overall requirements development process than writing the requirements specification itself. The research papers were classified by several research directions: Natural Language Processing for Requirements Engineering (NLP4RE), Requirement Prioritization, Requirements Traceability, Quality of Software Requirements, Non-functional Requirements and Requirements Elicitation. Motivation and intensity of each direction was described. Each direction was structured and represented with the key references. A contribution of each research direction into the research question was analyzed and summarized including potential further steps. It was identified that some researchers had met a part of the described problem in different forms during their researches. At the end, other researches were described additionally in a short overview. To approach the research question further potential direction was described.

Poor understanding of needs results in incompletely captured requirements and causes project failures. Analysts and developers by training, practice preoccupation and lacking suitable methodologies are ill equipped to capture various dimensions of requirements. In early stages needs are vaguely expressed. They have to be extracted and reasoned with stakeholders using relevant vocabulary. Business reality limits time at stakeholders' disposal to participate in requirements development. Methodologies that are more workable are required. Working with early stage goal oriented concepts from Goal Oriented Requirements Engineering (GORE) and fuzzy set theory based value aggregation, this thesis proposes a methodology to develop and select pertinent requirements. We use GORE concepts for identifying requirements and fuzzy aggregation to select alternatives. Use of fuzzy set theory and Ordered Weighted Aggregation (OWA) operators allows quantitative structuring of early stage decision problem consistent with human thinking and reasoning. The methodology is illustrated via two case studies.
