We develop a class of rational term structure models in the framework of the potential approach based upon a family of positive supermartingales that are driven by an affine Markov process. These models generally feature nonnegative interest rates and analytic pricing formulae for zero bonds, caps, swaptions, and European currency options, even in the presence of multiple factors. Moreover, in a model specification, the short rate stays near the zero lower bound for an extended period.

AbstractConverting and storing solar energy and releasing it on demand by using solar flow batteries (SFBs) is a promising way to address the challenge of solar intermittency. Although high solar-to-output electricity efficiencies (SOEE) have been recently demonstrated in SFBs, the complex multi-junction photoelectrodes used are not desirable for practical applications. Here, we report an efficient and stable integrated SFB built with back-illuminated single-junction GaAs photoelectrode with an n-p-n sandwiched design. Rational potential matching simulation and operating condition optimization of this GaAs SFB lead to a record SOEE of 15.4% among single-junction SFB devices. Furthermore, the TiO2 protection layer and robust redox couples in neutral pH electrolyte enable the SFB to achieve stable cycling over 408 h (150 cycles). These results advance the utilization of more practical solar cells with higher photocurrent densities but lower photovoltages for high performance SFBs and pave the way for developing practical and efficient SFBs.

In this paper, we study the global dynamical behavior of the Hamiltonian system [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] with the rational potential Hamiltonian [Formula: see text], where [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] are polynomials of degree 1 or 2. First we get the normal forms for these rational Hamiltonian systems by some linear change of variables. Then we classify all the global phase portraits of these systems in the Poincaré disk and provide their bifurcation diagrams.

New models using scale analysis and perturbation methods were derivated starting from the shallow water equations based on barotropic fluids. In the paper, to discuss the irregular topography with different magnitudes, especially considering the condition of the vast terrain, some modified quasi-geostrophic barotropic models were obtained. The unsteady terrain is more suitable to describe the motion of the fluid state of the earth because of the change of global climate and environment, so the modified models are more rational potential vorticity equations. If we do not consider the influence of topography and other factors, the models degenerate to the general quasi-geostrophic barotropic equations in the previous studies.

Abstract: The dialogue between the different conceptions of the world, so urgent nowadays, especially the religious dialogue and that between religions, can only succeed if partners are willing and able to take each other seriously, at the heart of their own convictions. As these ultimate convictions contain per se a universal claim, reason must be the common ground for such a dialogue. The task of philosophy, acting here as a qualified partner, is therefore to cultivate dialogue since transcendence is an object of study for both religions and philosophy. This is what the different arguments of transcendence, developed in philosophy, show. Their demonstrations of God serve as a bridge to religion. They are core philosophical arguments since it is through them that reason expresses its ability to overcome, in principle, its own limits. The particularities of these arguments are closely related to the self-explanation of the universal reason. The dimension of normativity and kindness that emerge, brings the problem of theodicy to which both philosophy and theology are confronted. Regarding this issue, the Christian faith has a rational potential that has recently favoured the dialogue with Buddhism.

The breather-type kink soliton, breather-type periodic soliton solutions and rogue potential flow for the (3+1)-dimensional generalized Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation are obtained by using the extended homoclinic test technique and homoclinic breather limit method, respectively. Furthermore, some new non-linear phenomena, such as kink and periodic degeneracy, are investigated and the new rational breather solutions are found out. Meanwhile, we also obtained the rational potential solution and it is just a rogue wave. These results enrich the variety of the dynamics of higher-dimensional non-linear wave field.
