The purposes of this study are to shed light on postgraduate education in Music Teaching and draw inferences about the future by evaluating the Music Teaching Postgraduate Program in Dokuz Eylul University Institute of Educational Sciences. The research is a qualitative study modelled with a single-case embedded study. In accordance with the interlocking single case pattern, the Music Education graduate program was examined by focusing on student, graduate, faculty member, theses. The opinions of 10 students, 23 graduates and 6 faculty members were taken to evaluate the program, and 57 master’s and 20 doctoral theses were examined. As a result of the content analysis,opinions were collected under four main categories. These categories are defined as “institutional goals”, “content”, “program outputs” and “updates”. In the category of program outcomes, the theses were evaluated according to various categories and the professional orientations of the graduates were statistically shared. According to the results of the research, the following conclusions were made: students should be informed at the beginning of the program in order to understand the vision and mission of the institution and to make the process they spent in the education process meaningful; A “scientific research in music education” course should be added to the program in order to conduct qualified research in the field of music education; subjects and research groups in theses should be diversified; faculty members should be role models in preparing thesis and academic studies for their advisors; graduate programs should be updated according to the needs of the time and society.

Background A philosophical shift in statistics regarding emphasis on “New Statistics” (NS; Cumming, G. (2014). The new statistics: Why and how. Psychological Science, 25(1), 7-29.) over conventional null hypothesis significance testing (NHST) raises the question of appropriate material coverage in undergraduate statistics courses. Objective We examined current practices in statistics pedagogy at the graduate and undergraduate levels for both NS and NHST. Method Using an online survey of a nationwide sample of current graduate students ( n = 452) and graduate faculty ( n = 162), we examined statistics pedagogy and perceptions of best approaches for teaching undergraduate statistics. Results In undergraduate statistics courses, coverage of NS material involves modest instruction in effect sizes and confidence intervals, while NHST remains dominant. Graduate courses have more balanced coverage. Effect size estimation was regarded as the most important NS knowledge for success in graduate school and the topic most in need of increased undergraduate coverage. Conclusion Undergraduate statistics courses could increase NS coverage, particularly effect size estimation, to better align with and prepare students for graduate work. Teaching Implications This research summarizes graduate program expectations and graduate student experiences regarding undergraduate statistics that current instructors can use to shape the content of their classes.

In many higher education and student affairs graduate programs the responsibility for providing field-based learning often falls on the graduate assistantship. Programs often situate theoretical learning inside the classroom and practical engagement at the assistantship site. The growing urgency for educators to create transformative learning experiences and to integrate deep interactions with issues of social justice into the classroom challenges graduate faculty to re-evaluate their approach to teaching and learning. In this chapter, the author makes the case for adopting a creative, community-based, and culturally engaging approach to teaching in graduate education programs.

The purpose of this mixed-methods study was to examine the culturally responsive perceptions and practices of instructors at a public, minority-serving institution located in the southeast quadrant of the United States. Survey data were collected from 34 undergraduate and graduate faculty participants. Findings from a hierarchical regression analysis indicated that race or ethnicity and deficit ideology were predictive of instructor-student relationships and effectively communicating expectations. Additionally, a thematic analysis of participant responses suggested instructors believe students do not value higher education, and academic advisors should take on a more expansive role. Participants minimized the role they play in promoting student success. Based on these findings, the authors suggest that universities develop strategic plans to address inequitable policies and practices. Furthermore, instructors must challenge beliefs that are detrimental to culturally responsive instruction. A discussion of the findings and implications for culturally responsive instruction in higher education, particularly at minority serving institutions, are included.

Abstract- Flexibility and Configurability software is important to accommodate a variety of managed data. In the graduation ceremony, the committee needs to arrange the graduation floor plan based on the provisions of each institution. The order of seating is adjusted based on the order of graduation of graduates with provisions agreed to each graduation period, such as the technical dimensions of the room and the order of priority of the predicate. During this time, the spreadsheet application used by the committee was inflexible. If the number of graduates increased or dimension of the blocks and floor plans is changed, the committee cannot flexibly change the plan. The factor of application flexibility and ease of configuration is needed. To support the flexibility of the configuration, the researcher observes the parameters of the sequence and floor plan, designs the database, displays the interface and adapts the activities carried out by humans into the system to automate the process of drawing a digital floor plan. The system requires graduate data, graduate predicate data, graduate faculty data, faculty sequence data, and floor plan data as preliminary data. The implementation of the stack can help the graduation of data storage implementation. With a flexible system, the committee's activities are reduced by 50% and the complexity of the committee's work is not influenced by the amount of graduate data. Adjustments to the layout of digital plans can be done at any time thereby increasing the flexibility of the committee in making decisionsKeywords: configurability, digital floor plan, graduation, stack Abstrak- Perangkat lunak yang dirancang dengan kemudahan konfigurasi dan fleksibilitas sangat diperlukan saat ini untuk mengakomodasi berbagai macam data yang dikelola. Dalam upacara wisuda, panitia perlu mengatur denah duduk wisudawan berdasarkan ketentuan masing-masing institusi. Urutan tempat duduk disesuaikan berdasarkan urutan pemanggilan wisudawan dengan ketentuan yang disepakati setiap periode wisuda, seperti teknis dimensi ruangan dan urutan prioritas predikatnya. Selama ini, aplikasi spreadsheet yang digunakan oleh panitia tidak fleksibel. Apabila jumlah wisudawan bertambah ataupun adanya pengubahan ukuran blok dan denah wisudawan, maka panitia tidak bisa secara fleksibel mengubah denah tersebut. Peran fleksibiltas aplikasi untuk menggambar denah secara digital dan kemudahan konfigurasi dibutuhkan. Untuk mendukung fleksibilitas dari konfigurasi tersebut, peneliti mengobservasi parameter penyusun urutan dan denah, merancang basis data, tampilan antar muka dan mengadaptasi aktivitas yang dilakukan oleh manusia ke dalam sistem untuk mengotomatisasi proses penggambaran denah digital. Sistem memerlukan data wisudawan, data predikat wisudawan, data fakultas wisudawan, data urutan fakultas dan data dimensi denah sebagai data awal. Penerapan struktur data stack membantu dalam mengimplementasi penyimpanan data wisudawan. Dengan sistem yang fleksibel, aktivitas panitia menjadi berkurang 50% dan kompleksitas pengerjaan panitia tidak dipengaruhi oleh jumlah data wisudawan. Penyesuaian susunan denah digital dapat dilakukan sewaktu-waktu sehingga meningkatkan fleksibilitas panitia dalam mengambil keputusan.Kata kunci: denah digital, konfigurabilitas, stack, wisuda

Objetivo: relatar a experiência do estágio de docência do programa de pós-graduação Stricto sensu em Enfermagem enquanto prática fortalecedora na formação do enfermeiro docente. Método:  trata-se de um descritivo, tipo relato de experiência. que surgiu da iniciativa de se refletir sobre as abordagens pedagógicas e teórico-metodológicas do EDO na formação do enfermeiro docente, em um programa de Pós-Graduação Stricto sensu de Enfermagem/PPGENF, na modalidade mestrado acadêmico. Resultados: apresentou-se o estágio como um espaço de desafios, desenvolvimento de habilidades, ressignificações e oportunidade de excelência, ao aumentar a superfície de contato das mestrandas com a realidade concreta da atuação docente, oportunizando um instante único de análise e assimilação do cenário existente. Conclusão: configurou-se o estágio de docência orientado como um componente imprescindível para a formação das futuras mestras, além de possibilitar um diálogo entre a teoria e a prática, suscitando reflexões profundas sobre o papel do docente.
