AbstractThis article considers factors of number of sidings and the occurrences of transit traffic and presents a comparison of selected railway lines in Poland. Multi-criteria analysis methods were used, like the zero unitarization method and the technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution method. The comparison made it possible to arrange the selected railway lines in the order from the most to the least useful. The obtained results showed also that zero unitarization method is limited only to the analysis of all lines on which transit traffic occurs or all lines without transit traffic. The comparison of all lines is possible using the technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution method.

Abstract The aim of this study is to develop a simulation model which is capable of mimicking actual vessel arrival patterns and vessel entrance decisions (which are made based on expert opinions generally) on congested, narrow waterways. The model is tested on the transit traffic pattern in the Strait of Istanbul. Based on a heuristic scheduling algorithm, this model decides entrance times and vessel types on the strait. The model, with different policies for day and night traffic, is run for a period of seven years with 20 replications for each year. The performance measures of the model are: average interarrival times, number of vessels passed and entrance times for each successive vessel pair in both traffic directions. The model results are congruent with the actual results of performance measures. Therefore, it may be deduced that the proposed algorithm can be a guide for operators regarding scheduling decisions in congested, narrow waterways.

Goal. Describe the areas of cross-border cooperation of Ukraine in the field of recreation and tourism. Many publications of both foreign and domestic authors, mainly of economic and legal content, are devoted to the study of cross-border and later cross-border cooperation. activities. The method consisted of processing the literary and statistical material collected by the authors on border and transit traffic as components of export-import relations in the field of travel and their infrastructure, as well as the formation and promotion of tourist products formed to get acquainted with neighboring Ukrainian ethnic lands. Scientific novelty. New approaches to the consideration of cross-border cooperation in the field of tourism and recreation through the prism of cross-border cooperation of Ukraine with neighboring countries are proposed. An example of the development of cross-border cooperation is the development of a cross-border tour between the Verkhovyna district of Ivano-Frankivsk region and the Maramures district of Romania in the Marmara region. One of the ways to intensify international tourism is the use of cross-border natural and recreational and historical and cultural, especially ethnographic, resources through the formation of a comprehensive tourism product in the segment of cognitive tourism. Results. The provision of the state border of Ukraine with checkpoints and control is described, as well as a regional analysis of the main partner countries of Ukraine in the market of tourist services, developed a technological map of the tourist route "From Verkhovyna, shrouded in legends, to the impressive Maramures." The practical significance lies in paying attention to the possibilities of cross-border cooperation of Ukraine with neighboring countries, especially on the western border, on the joint use of border areas for the development of recreational activities and tourism. Cross-border cooperation in the field of recreation and tourism involves the joint use of border areas for recreational and tourist purposes. These can include border tourist traffic, transit traffic through checkpoints and the organization of tours in the border ethnic Ukrainian lands.

The content of the article is aimed at optimizing the location of service facilities in the organization of transport logistics on the international transit corridors of Kazakhstan. The basic principles of creating a roadside infrastructure with the growth of motorization, freight and passenger traffic in transport are analyzed. The growth of transit traffic increases the efficiency of using the reserves of transportation capacity of national transport systems, stimulates their reproduction and improvement. The consequence of the growth of transit traffic can be without significant investment increase in budget revenues, revenues of transport organizations and, accordingly, their effective development. The globalization of the economy and the accompanying processes of development of foreign economic relations require a new approach to the development of transport, the redistribution of freight and passenger flows. The growth of foreign trade will require a qualitative revision of the share of the transport component, standard approaches to the formation of which in the short term will still work, but in the medium term will require a deep revision of the classical approaches.

The creation of the „Polish Great Central Transportation Port” (CPK) is considered already justified despite the fact that no detailed traffic forecast for different scenarios of market development has been created and presented. They are to be prepared in the future. In our Report, we created traffic forecasts for the CPK based on the key market and business assumptions. The airport will focus on transit traffic carried by network carriers. The proper and attractive conditions to serve low cost and charter airlines will not be created. Almost the entire transit traffic from Polish regions will be transported by fast trains. In our versions of forecasts we show how big the differences are between the forecasts that would have to materialize so that the CPK Project may become a market and financial success and the forecasts that we consider realistic. The unique geographical location of the CPK is supposed to be its one of its key assets. We show that this assumption is very far from reality. As part of the CPK Project, an enormous investment in a fast train system which is necessary to transport passengers not only from the Warsaw agglomeration but from almost all Polish regions is very important and in our opinion is rather risky. Nowhere in the world does currently an intermodal aircraft – train traffic system exist of such size and importance. In addition, even very general financial calculations have not been made that would show that the railway part of the project could be profitable. We do not argue that in the future the building of a completely new airport would not be justified and even necessary to take over the current role of Chopin Airport. But first, an effective network of Chopin Airport and other airports - located mainly in Eastern and North-Eastern Poland and dedicated to low cost and charter airlines - should be developed and may be sufficient for many years to come. The plans for the new airport have to be based on realistic market assumptions and consideration must be given to different scenarios of the air transportation market development and of the general economic situation. This is necessary because, as learned from international experience, even if private capital is involved in financing of the investment, the private investors will not agree to take their part of the financial risks demanding hard guarantees from the Government for the volumes of the traffic to be served by the airport.
