The objective of this study was to identify the knowledge outcome of students majoring in physical and health education at Al-Balqa Applied University studying the principles of sports training, nutrition for athletes, and sports anatomy during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study adopted the descriptive analytical approach, where the curricula for the principles of sports training, the nutrition curriculum for athletes, and the sports anatomy curriculum were chosen, which were taught during the second semester of the academic year 2020/2021. In order to determine the degree of the knowledge outcome of the students, the study adopted the purposive sampling method in selecting the study sample. The students of physical and health education specialization at Al-Balqa Applied University were identified, where the sample consisted of 135 male and female students. The study concluded that the ratio of the total knowledge outcome to the knowledge outcome was at a moderate level with a percentage of 61.1, while it was low in the sports Anatomy curriculum 58.8. The results showed that there were statistically significant differences in favor of the students of Princess Alia College, and the results showed that there were no statistically significant differences between males and females in the nutrition and sports anatomy domain, while there were statistically significant differences in favor of males in the principles of sports training domain. This study increased the depth of understanding of knowledge outcome during the COVID-19 pandemic, whereas other studies were performed in normal non-stressful situations.

Outdoor Education (OE) is usually associated with challenging activities and developing skills among students.  It also teaches learning through the interaction with the nature world which helps to educate for environmental appreciation. Is the frequency of involvement can determine the appreciation among its participants?  So, the objectives of this study are to identify the involvement of outdoor activities, its enjoyment of participation and its relationship with nature appreciation among undergraduate students in a higher learning institution in Malaysia. One hundred and sixty-nine (n=169) students who participated in this study were from a Physical and Health Education Program. Results from the study indicated high levels of participation with much pleasure from diverse outdoor activities in water and land based. Pearson’s correlation analysis was performed between each type of water and land-based activity with nature appreciation. Analyses were found to have significant relation of several activities with nature appreciation. Findings indicated a significant but weak relationship between the overall activities and nature appreciation among the students. It was suggested that integrating together new area of studies related to mother nature should be incorporated during the activities.

In the traditional construction process of educational video courses for physical and health education in universities, numerous problems are encountered, such as small storage capacity, significant delay error, and decreased information throughput rate. Therefore, an educational video course for physical and health education in universities based on the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) platform is constructed. The course is built by constructing a creative environment for video courses, establishing a video course model under the MOOC platform, and the caching code design for video courses. Upon numerous modifications and test runs, with the campus network’s help, the construction of a network teaching video for physical and health theory courses is realized. Our proposed approach’s experimental result shows that the designed course’s frame rate is 10% higher than that of the traditional course designing. The node’s storage capacity is up to 130%, the delay error is significantly reduced, and the information throughput rate is not affected by the increase of network load.

Abstract Pre-service training is a critical period for establishing the beliefs of future teachers in their ability to successfully assume their responsibilities as teachers. One of the goals of teacher education programs would therefore be to cultivate a high sense of competence among students. For this purpose, a scale to measure the perception of self-efficacy (PSE) among Quebec physical and health education trainees during teaching has been developed and empirically validated. Teacher trainees (n = 232) enrolled in 3rd and 4th year in the Bachelor of Education in Physical and Health Education (PHE) in four different university programs in Quebec participated in the study. Subsequent exploratory and quasi-confirmatory factor analyses led to the development of an instrument with 19 items divided into three factors, explaining 66.10 % of the total variance. The convergent and divergent measures of validity are satisfactory, as are those of the reliability of the three scales (upper lower limit: .78 to .93). Finally, the RMSR, CFI, RMSEA and NNFI indices show an excellent goodness of fit of the model obtained.

The purpose of this study is to study whether the menstrual disorder have impact on quality of life among female students which focus on physical and health education students from semester 1 until semester 8 in Uitm Puncak Alam, Selangor. The study was conducted to clarify the types of menstrual disorder among female students. The study also was aimed to identify the symptoms of menstrual disorder experience among female students before and during their menstruation and to determine the effect of menstrual disorder among female students towards their quality of life. Data from 74 respondents were used for the statistical analysis. The data were collected by using non purposive sampling. Questionnaires were used to obtain data for this study and the data for this study were analysed by using Microsoft Excel Software. Results showed that, menstrual disorder give impacts towards female quality of life. Future research should emphasize on other scope of study and more research about menstrual disorder may help organization to increase their performance and knowledge about female and their menstruation. Keywords: menstrual disorder, female students and effects, quality of life

The long-standing challenges and issues associated with girls’ disengagement from secondary school physical and health education (PHE) are serious and well documented. This disengagement has provided the incentive for the examination of alternative strategies to facilitate girls’ engagement in PHE. This paper discusses the first phase in a formative research process designed to develop a resource manual to help teachers utilize nature-based physical activity (NBPA) as a means of fostering relatedness for girls in PHE. Participating teachers collaborated and generated specific NBPA ideas and pedagogical strategies during an all-day planning session. Four focus groups with the teachers ( N = 20) were used to identify ways to develop NBPA interventions. Five broad topics are reported: (a) defining NBPAs, (b) specific NBPAs to use in PHE, (b) how NBPA can foster relatedness, (d) how NBPA in PHE differs from outdoor education, and (e) barriers to implementing NBPA in PHE. This paper emphasizes the valuable contribution of formative research to the integrity and fidelity of an intervention as well as to quality practice in the implementation of theory-based PHE initiatives.
