Examining the Relationship between Social Modelling and Physical Activities Involvement

This study aimed to examine the relationship between social modeling and children’s involvement in physical activities (CIPA) involvement. Descriptive-correlation analysis was utilized to determine the respondents’ profile and the CIPA. Correlation analyses were used to examine relationships between key variables, modelling, and CIPA among 200 randomly selected Grades 1 to 6 pupils in selected randomly private and public schools in the Division of Iligan City. Likert Scale and Inferential Statistics were used to measure the level of self-reported responses. Results showed that all the models influenced the PA, coach ranked first with 88.5% most influential, while peers ranked second 83.5%, parents ranked third 77%, while the lowest influence were teachers 59% which could mean that coach had the highest influence, while teachers were the least influential models. Furthermore, among all the models, Coach Modelling had the closest relationship with the PA involvement. Surprisingly, parents who were supposed to be the first models at home, were not that influential on CIPA because they were too busy doing other things at home or outside their homes, not sports and physical activities.

Motion Analysis of Long-Distance Drive in Woodball Athletes

The purpose of this study was to analyze the motion of long-distance drive in woodball athletes. The method in this study using quantitative descriptive using observation by Video Recording. The total sample used in this study 8 woodball athletes Semarang State University and all of them were willing to participate in the study by signing the informed consent form. This study uses data analysis techniques using the Kinovea application software Version 0.8.15. The results found that the preparation phase obtaining appropriate criteria, with an average score of 4. The prefix phase in this movement was of 3.8 with appropriate criteria and the implementation phase of 3.7 with appropriate criteria. The follow-through phase obtained an average score of 3.4 with almost appropriate criteria. Overall, the average in the motion analysis is 3.7 with the appropriate category. The conclusion of this study found that motion analysis of long-distance drive in woodball athletes are in the appropriate category. This study also showed quite effective and quite efficient based on the video analysis used. The limitation in this study still focuses on the kinetic data. Future research is expected to improve the quality of the drive and also minimize the occurrence of injuries.

Optimization of the Application of Inclusive Teaching Style in Improving Learning Outcomes Forehand Push Table Tennis Game in Class XI IPA 1 Private Senior Highschool PAB Saentis

This study aims to find out how to improve learning outcomes of Forehand Push table tennis game through inclusive teaching style in class XI IPA 1 Private Senior Highschool PAB SAENTIS. The object of this research is class XI students with 25 students who will be given action in the form of inclusive teaching style on Forehand Push learning outcomes. In the first cycle, it could be seen that the students' initial ability to perform the Forehand Push technique was still low. Of the 25 students there are 15 people (60%) who have achieved mastery learning, while 10 people (40%) have not achieved mastery learning. With the average value of student learning outcomes is 76.3. Meanwhile, in the second cycle, it can be seen that the students' ability to perform classical learning outcomes tests has increased. Of the 25 students there are 20 (80%) who have achieved mastery learning, while 5 people (20%) have not achieved mastery learning. With the average value of student learning outcomes is 80.7, so there is a 25% increase in learning outcomes from cycle I to cycle II. It can be concluded that learning through inclusive teaching style can improve forehand push learning outcomes in class XI IPA 1 Private Senior Highschool PAB SAENTIS.

Physical Activity Levels in Physical Education Lessons at Singapore Primary School

Physical education (PE) lessons are the appropriate occasions to promote physical activity for children. Although the moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) levels during PE lessons were investigated in several countries, MVPA levels during PE lessons were never reported at Singapore primary schools. Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate physical activity intensity levels during PE lessons at a Singapore primary school. A total of 93 students (40 girls) voluntary participated in the study: 28 in Grade 1, 39 in Grade 4, and 26 in Grade 6. They were asked to wear an accelerometer on their non-dominant hand in two PE lessons to measure physical activity levels objectively. They also completed questionnaires on their experiences during the PE lessons. The average of the MVPA levels time (%) in the scheduled lesson time across the three grades was 46.98 ± 5.25%, but the average of the MVPA levels time (%) in the actual lesson time was 69.74 ± 7.31%. These results indicated that it would be possible to achieve the recommended MVPA time in PE lessons. The findings of this study would be useful for PE teachers to reflect whether their PE lessons are efficient to promote primary school student’s physical activity levels.

Investigating the Online Game-based and Group-Based Flipped Online Learning of Drug Abuse Prevention on Learning Achievement Among Grade 10 Students in Bangkok, Thailand

This study was examined the effect of the online Game-based learning versus the Group-Based Flipped Classroom online learning experiences about drug abuse prevention on the learning achievement among grade 10 students in Bangkok, Thailand. Classroom action research was implemented among grade 10 students at high school in Bangkok selected through purposive. Two comparable classrooms were assigned to either the online game-based learning or group-based flipped online learning for 2 weeks. The instruments employed in the study consisted of: (1) a flipped classroom model with online group investigation, (2) an online game-based model as individual learning, (3) the learning achievement—drug abuse prevention cognitive test. Independent t-test was analyzed to test the effectiveness of the two interventions. It revealed there was a significant difference in the learning achievement of drug abuse prevention given to those who were exposed to online game-based learning and those who were exposed to group-based flipped classroom online learning (t= 3.945, n1= 43, n2= 39, p= 0.000). From the study, high school students who were exposed to the online game-based learning performed better to those exposed to group-based flipped classroom online learning. Teachers are to encourage students to use individual learning to improve performance.

The Development of Paser Recreational Sports (Final Stage) as a New Attraction in the Cacaban Reservoir Tourism Object, Tegal Regency

The development of paser recreational sports (final stage) as a new attraction in the Cacaban reservoir tourist attraction. Judging from the natural resources and characteristics of the Cacaban Reservoir, Tegal Regency, the recreational sport of Paser is very suitable to be raised and developed because it has the potential to make a new attraction in increasing tourist visits. The purpose of this research is to produce a product that did not exist before, so that it can be used as a reference in organizing Paser whether it is recreational or recreational sports activities. Paser is an event that can become a new attraction in Cacaban Reservoir. This research is an umbrella research that uses the Research and Development (RnD) method with a sequence of research stages which are divided into three major stages, consisting of several implementation procedures, namely: 1) Initial stage, 2) Advanced stage, and 3) Final stage (selected focus in this article). The results of this development research indicate that the results of the second stage product expert test scores from the experts can be concluded that the Paser stage II recreational sports book product has an average score of 3.45 which is included in the "Very Eligible" category. The conclusion in this study is the development of recreational sports Paser has the potential to be a new attraction in the Cacaban Reservoir Tourism Object, Tegal Regency.

Injury Causes and Recovery Management Strategies among Singapore CrossFitters

CrossFit is a combination of movements from various sport disciplines such as Olympic Weightlifting, Powerlifting and Gymnastics executed at high intensity. It has shown to bring about physiological and psycho-social benefits to members, increasing exercise adherence. Established in 2005, CrossFit has seen an exponential growth since, with 13,991 CrossFit affiliates worldwide. The popularity of the program despite its disposition to injury requires greater attention to its safety. This research aims to understand (1) reasons of injury among CrossFitters; (2) Injury management techniques among CrossFitters. In-depth interviews were conducted with nine CrossFitters from five Singapore CrossFit affiliates. Data was transcribed and thematically analyzed. Findings revealed that causes of injury include poor workout program designs, insufficient physiological knowledge passed down from coaches to athletes, athlete’s impatience when learning new skills as well as athletes conforming to performance and peer pressures. Further, Crossfitters manage their injuries through self-care physiological means and with professional guidance. The study concludes that coaches play a vital role in both the prevention and management of injuries. Therefore, they should design their programs with the athlete’s safety in mind and foster an environment that values patience, strength building discipline and safety. Athletes should also pay extra attention to their movement technique and be self-reflective in their physical capabilities. All athletes should regularly practice conservative physiological recovery methods and seek treatment or diagnosis from medical practitioners when necessary.

Paradigm of Village Physical Activity During Pandemic

One of the measures to maintain body immunity in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic is to exercise regularly. The Covid-19 virus was officially declared to have entered Indonesia by the central government since March 2020. The purpose of this research was to find out the differences in the paradigm of physical activity of the residents of Dusun XI, Pond Village, especially those aged 17 years and over, between before the Covid-19 pandemic. 19 and during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research used in the preparation of this scientific article uses quantitative methods which are presented in descriptive form. The paradigm of sports activities for the residents of Dusun XI, Pond Village, which was studied by researchers on a one-week scale, was the intensity of sunbathing, duration of sunbathing, intensity of exercise, duration of exercise, and type of exercise. The research instrument used to measure the physical activity paradigm of residents is the Short-Form version of the Physical Activity Question (PAQ), which is filled out by 50 residents via Google Form. The answers to the questions in the questionnaire which were filled out by the residents of Dusun XI, Pond Village, are the conclusions of this scientific article. The results showed that the paradigm of residents' physical activity that changed after the Covid-19 pandemic was the intensity of sunbathing, the intensity of exercise, and the type of exercise. The Covid-19 pandemic has caused the majority of the residents of Dusun XI of the Pool Village to increase their sunbathing intensity to every day, the majority of the residents of Dusun XI of the Pool Village have decreased their exercise intensity to once a week,

The Effects of Health Promotion Literacy Program on Knowledge and Health Behaviors of National Health Recommendations among Middle School Students

This study was examined the effect of health promotion literacy program on knowledge and health behaviors of Ten National Health Recommendations among middle school students. Classroom action research was implemented among grade 8 students at middle school students selected purposively. Two comparable schools were assigned to the online Health Promotion Literacy Program for 3 weeks. The instruments employed in the study consisted of Health Promotion Literacy Program, questionnaire on knowledge and health behaviors, and user satisfaction survey. It revealed there was a significant difference in the learning achievement of health literacy and health behaviors of each school those who were participated in Health Promotion Literacy Program who performed posttest better than pretest the programme (t1=24.26, P1=0.000, t2=26.33, P2=0.000). It revealed there was an insignificant difference in the learning achievement of health literacy and health behaviors of both affiliations that it is shown that students who come from different schools totally have similar knowledge, perceptions, and behaviors (t=1.22, P=0.848). The students who participated in health promotion literacy program had satisfaction at good level (x ̅=4.39). From the study, health literacy promotion program on health behaviors according to the National Health Recommendations can positively affects student learning outcomes.

Validity of the 20 Meter Multi-Stage Shuttle Run Test (MSSRT) In Predicting VO2 Max

The purpose of this study was to investigate the validity of the 20 meter multi-stage shuttle run test (MST) in predicting VO2max compared to the directly measured reading from the laboratory. 4 male participants, who were diverse in terms of their ages and who were active physically, performed the MST and an incremental treadmill tests. Predicted VO2max values were obtained for the MST based on their stages and shuttles and actual VO2max values were obtained from the laboratory treadmill test. Results showed that all predicted VO2max values for the MST over-predicted that of the actual VO2max values from the laboratory test. This study seems to suggest that there is no validity in the MST in predicting VO2max of an individual as compared to the actual VO2max values from the laboratory.
