Polyacrylamide hydrogel (PAAG) is an injectable material for breast augmentation that was developed in the 1980s. It was widely used until the 2000s, but subsequently lost its popularity due to high complication rates. In this case report, we share our experience of a patient complaining of hard and asymmetric breasts who had received PAAG injections 7 years ago. Surprisingly, we found that the filler in the left breast had migrated to the left inguinal area. Although breast fillers have lost ground in recent years, we think that long-term complications of fillers, as observed in this case, will still arise in the future. Therefore, young plastic surgeons who do not have direct experience with this material should be aware of its possible complications.

Extrauterine parasitic lipoleiomyoma is a very rare fatty tumor, with uncertain histopathogenesis. Although imaging studies play an important role in preoperative localization and diagnosis of lipoleiomyoma, a pathological evaluation is paramount for confirmation of diagnosis. We describe a case of a 49-year-old woman with a palpable mass in the right inguinal area. Computed tomography of the abdomen and pelvis revealed a fluid- and fat-containing mass. Histopathological examination of the mass, which was successfully resected, confirmed the diagnosis of lipoleiomyoma. The patient was discharged on a postoperative day 2 without any complications.

Sea turtles depend on ambient temperature to carry out their main activities, so changes in water temperature can affect the function of their immune system and represent different threats. To assess vital signs in black sea turtles (Chelonia mydas) in the Ojo de Liebre lagoon complex, Mexico, 600 turtles were examined. Carapace, plastron, and left inguinal area temperatures were measured with a digital infrared thermometer gun. Cloacal temperature was measured with an electronic thermometer. Heart rate was recorded using a stethoscope. Statistical analyses found no significant variation between inguinal area and cloacal temperatures. Vital sign measurements were compared with previous reports in the region, and there were differences in body temperatures, which were attributed to the characteristics of the water masses inhabited by the turtles. There was no significant difference between heart rate data for black sea turtles in this study and previously reported data for healthy sea turtles in the region, indicating that these data are likely an accurate representation for the species. All values fell within the reference intervals for healthy sea turtles. This minimally invasive diagnostic approach using vital signs allowed us to evaluate and infer core organ functions and to rule out health threats such as cold-stunning, resulting in a useful preliminary systemic assessment of free-ranging sea turtles.

Abstract BackgroundVarious surgical options are available to treat lymphedema, such as direct excisional debulking surgery, suction-assisted lipectomy debulking, lymphovenous anastomosis (LVA), and vascularized lymph node transplantation (VLNT). However, no studies have addressed simultaneous surgery with both LVA and VLNT for patients with advanced-stage lymphedema. Case Presentation A 72-year-old female with bilateral lower extremity lymphedema refractory to nonsurgical management was admitted to our lymphedema clinic. This patient had a history of lymphoma and treated with radiotherapy on right inguinal area 26 years ago. Interestingly, the patient developed lymphedema on both the right and left lower extremities although she had radiotherapy on her right inguinal area. The patient underwent simultaneous vascularized lymph node transfer and lymphovenous anastomosis for treatment of end-stage lymphedema. Significant reduction in circumference and volume of lower extremity was achieved following simultaneous vascularized lymph node transfer and lymphonvenous anastomosis Conclusion The authors recommend simultaneous VLNT and LVA surgeries as the first treatment option for patients with end-stage lymphedema.

Mesothelial cysts of inguinal area are extremely rare and few cases have been reported in females, arising from round ligament of uterus. Inguinal hernias are a common surgical problem in children presenting as an inguinal or inguino scrotal swelling. Usually the contents of hernial sac in a male child are intestine or omentum and in females  it may contain ovary. Mesothelial cyst of round ligament may present as an inguinal mass in females, but it is very rare to find in side inguinal hernial sac of a male child. Here in we report a case of 2 year 9-month-old male child, who was operated for irreducible right congenital inguinal hernia. A pedunculated cystic mass was found to be the content and was removed. Histopathology confirmed the diagnosis of mesothelial cyst. Because of rarity, we report this case.

• An inguinal hernia is a protrusion of the contents of the abdominal cavity or peritoneal fat through a defect in the inguinal area. • The hernia sac contents are at risk of incarceration, which may lead to more serious sequelae such as bowel obstruction, and or a circulatory strangulation of the hernia contents, leading to necrosis and possible perforation of the intestine . The chance of incarceration is relatively low, between 0.3-3% per year . • GAINT INGUINAL HERNIA IS MORE UNUSUAL (APPROX 0.5% OF INGUINAL HERNIAS) AND SIGNIFICANTLY CHALLENGING IN TERMS OF SURGICAL MANAGEMENT. • IT IS DEFINED AS AN INGUINAL HERNIA THAT EXTENDS BELOW THE MIDPOINT OF INNER THIGH WHEN PATIENT IS IN STANDING POSITION.

In this paper we describe a new protocol—named RaFeVA (Rapid Femoral Vein Assessment)—for the systematic US assessment of the veins in the inguinal area and at mid-thigh, designed to evaluate patency and caliber of the common and superficial femoral veins and choose the best venipuncture site before insertion of a FICC.

Unilateral laterothoracic exanthem (ULE) is relatively rare self-limited pediatric skin inflammatory disease; its etiology still remains unknown. The diagnosis can be established due to specific clinical findings: presence of spotted and papular rash on one side of the body, more often in the axillary or inguinal area with possible generalization. This article presents the clinical case of ULE in the girl (4 years 8 months), it shows the dynamics of exanthematous syndrome at this pathology on different stages of the disease course.

The properties of meshes: Surgimesh®, Technomesh[Formula: see text] and SurgiproTM aged for up to four years were assessed using tensile tests. We discovered that the elasticity of Technomesh[Formula: see text] increased in both directions, Surgimesh[Formula: see text] became more elastic in the longitudinal direction while the elastic properties of SurgiproTM remained unchanged. The mesh samples did not significantly change their strength and deformability with age. Samples from umbilical and inguinal area of the abdominal wall were isolated from 14 donors. The investigation included 90 specimens divided into three age subgroups — A (up to 60 years), B (61–80 years) and C (over 80 years). The long-term mechanical compatibility of human fascia and meshes was compared. The elastic properties of the meshes are closer to the elastic properties of the fascia in the direction parallel to fibers if the donors’ age is up to 60 years.
