The present study aims to investigate the relationship between university students' school climate and their motivation levels. In this study, whether the school climate and motivation levels differ according to gender and year of study also been examined. The "School Climate Scale for University Students" and "Adult Motivation Scale" were applied to 322 participants aged between 18 and 40. Correlational survey model was used in this study. Pearson correlation coefficient was examined to investigate the relationship between school climate and motivation. The effects of university students' school climate on motivation were analyzed using the regression analysis technique. T-test and one-way analysis of variance technique were used to investigate whether the school climate and motivation differed according to gender and year of study. The findings showed that there was no significant difference between university students' school climate and motivation levels and gender. According to the other variable, the year of study, a significant difference was found in the dimensions of learning environment and communication, which were sub-dimensions of school climate. When the relationship between school climate and motivation levels of university students was examined, the findings showed that there was a positive significant relationship between school climate and its sub-dimensions and motivation and sub-dimensions.

Traditional education focused primarily on the moment of teaching, on the moment of transmitting information, knowledge, and only then on aspects related to ethical, motivational, moral nature. Contemporary society in a continuous remodeling and change, no longer coincides, no longer accepts such a system. Traditional learning does not keep pace with contemporary society. The aim of this study is to investigate the motivation of learning in adulthood. In the motivational structure of the investigated adults, extrinsic reasons predominated, indirectly related to the learning activity, such as: the need to advance professionally, to keep up with the times, to obtain a social status as high as possible, to meet current requirements, to earn the respect of others, for a diploma, a change of job. Among the intrinsic reasons invoked by the study participants, directly related to the learning activity, we mention: the desire for knowledge and personal development, curiosity, the desire to teach others. In conclusion, we want to offer a better perspective and a well-understanding of motivational factors implicated in adult learning, ensuring the ease of triangulation of sources of information collection, thus improving the credibility of findings.

The market for mass sports events geared towards adults is already saturated, while more new initiatives are exclusively targeting children and adolescents. Mass sports events for amateur athletes can be a great way to encourage young people to exercise regularly, such as in cases where physical education classes do not fully play this role. A lot of research has already been conducted on the subject of adult motivation for participating in amateur sports events, i.e., marathons, ultramarathons, duathlons or triathlons. However, the research niche is children and adolescents’ motivation. The aim of this study is to recognize motivation among children aged 12 for participating in children’s running events in Poland. The study was conducted via a diagnostic survey using the Motives for Physical Activity Measure–Revised (MPAM-R) scale to determine what motivation is most important for young athletes and whether there are any differences in terms of gender. The highest values were obtained by motivation related to fun and enjoyment during sporting events, while the lowest values were obtained by motivation related to social affiliation. Aspects associated with good fun should be promoted during activities related to the marketing of sporting events for young people. This article contains the results obtained from the Poznan Half Marathon pilot study and recommendations for future lines of research. Such results will allow us to understand the motivation behind modern young amateur athletes and to better manage mass sports events that target children and adolescents.
