AbstractThe covid-19 outbreak that hit the world in early 2020 has caused distress and suffering for everyone. The aftermath of this outbreak forced everyone to do their best online-based activities. This is done to avoid crowds to prevent the transmission of covid-19. Social media is the main choice in doing various activities such as studying, working, especially religious activities. The method used in the writing of this article is the qualitative descriptive method. The current covid event certainly requires God's people to perform worship in their homes by following live streming online, because offline worship is not recommended by the government during the pandemic. The use of social media to maintain spiritual and congregational growth should be pursued by the church. Therefore, the use of social media as a means of worship in order to keep the growth of the faith of the church is a biblical, because in the early church began to worship from house to house. Because the concept of worship recorded in the Old and New Testaments can describe that the essensi of worship is actually an intimate personal relationship between man and his God. Keywords: Covid19, Social Media, Faith Growth, Church.

The church is a collection of believers sanctified by God and allied in the name of Jesus. The church was founded by the Lord Jesus. Therefore, service to the church must not be ignored. Congregational growth to spiritual maturity must be the focus of church service. Discipleship of Small Bible Groups (KEKAL) is one of the strategies of the Pontianak Anugerah Baptist Church to guide the congregation towards spiritual maturity. The problem is that there has been no attempt to evaluate the effectiveness of ministry through KEKAL discipleship in guiding congregations to grow spiritually mature. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to see the effectiveness of KEKAL discipleship in guiding the church to grow. The research method used in this research is descriptive-quantitative. The data collection is done by using a closed questionnaire. Through this research, it was found that the KEKAL discipleship program had an effective role in guiding the church to spiritual maturity. This small group discipleship strategy can be one of the strategies for the church to guide church members to mature in Christ.

In this paper, I examine how clergy’s value orientations and congregations’ relationships to the superordinate organizations in their institutional environment are reflected in congregations’ organizational cultures. My analysis of nearly 50 qualitative interviews with clergy, members, and former members of four Southern Baptist Convention congregations and one Independent Christian megachurch indicates organizational cultures are (1) reflections of their leaders’ value orientations and the congregation’s engagement with superordinate organizations and (2) an important indicator of how congregations establish legitimacy. I describe three unique organizational cultures and their relationship to clergy’s value orientations and the congregations’ ties to the superordinate organizations in their institutional environment. In the discussion, I argue there is a need to focus on specific components of the institutional environment beyond superordinate organizations, and I consider the role the three organizational cultures described in the text play in congregational growth and decline and church conflict.

This chapter argues that the accelerated ascendency of megachurch celebrity pastors is best examined and understood in terms of marketing strategy and commodification processes specific to a digital age in which social media and interactive technologies are impacting the identity formation of Christians and non-Christians alike. It demonstrates how relationships between celebrity pastors and their congregants are mediated by cultural and technological shifts as church branding has become integral to evangelical purpose. It compares two campaigns to market books by celebrity pastors—Mark Driscoll's Real Marriage (2012) and Judah Smith's Jesus Is (2013). It considers how pastors have managed to gain celebrity and inspire congregational growth in what is considered one of the least churched cities in the United States—Seattle.

Guidelines for continuous theological training: Challenges for the Apostolic Faith Mission church Qualitative research done amongst a section of the broader membership as well as a region of the Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) church has identified the role expectations of the pastor. Studies have shown that pastors should be continuously equipped to enable them to meet all their role expectations successfully. Although successful pastorates are a priority for the AFM, no formal structures have been constituted to guide pastors to become involved in continuous theological training. A literature research was also undertaken in order to obtain a larger and representative picture of the continuous training of pastors. The research and literature study findings have led to the drafting of proposed guidelines for continuous theological training. The purpose of this article is to provide these guidelines to the AFM church role players for them to remain informed regarding continuous theological training. This will enable pastors to stimulate congregational growth and address different training needs.
