A growing body of research has identified teacher residency’s potentials for improving and sustaining preservice teacher learning through a stronger district–university partnership. Drawing on sensemaking perspectives on education policy implementation, this qualitative case study examines how a variety of university and district stakeholders make sense of and implement a state-mandated teacher residency in Louisiana. Findings reveal that stakeholders are primarily making sense of the residency in isolation, leading to incoherent understandings and varied implementation practices. Opportunities to improve stakeholders’ collective sensemaking and collaborative implementation and to optimize the benefits and potentials of teacher residency partnerships are discussed. This study has implications for teacher education policy implementation and continuous inquiry into the complexities of teacher preparation.

Digital education is now one of the main drivers of the country's economic development. Mastery in digital skills is becoming increasingly important in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0, the internet of things as well as technology-based teaching and learning processes. However, all these agenda towards digital development is seen as a mere rhetorical statement if the digital divide is still wide in the country. Thus, this article takes the initiative to dismantle the digital education policy implementation in the country and also attempts to see how strategies will be applied to reduce the digital divide in education. Success in ensuring the reduction of the digital divide is important to further increase the rate of digital literacy and at the same time fostering the process of innovation in society. The emphasis on digital education is also seen in line with the 4th sustainable development goal which is to access quality education and the 10th goal which is to reduce inequality. The discussion from this concept paper then produces some recommendations for future research to studies on the aspects of policy and strategies improvement needed in bridging the digital divide in the country.

Objectives: AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) is used to analyze the influencing factors of school physical education policy implementation. Methods: Based on the established hierarchical structure model of influencing factors of school physical education policy implementation, the importance of indicators in each level is compared in pairs, the judgment matrix is established step by step, the relative importance order weight of each level element is calculated, and the consistency test is carried out, and then the ranking of each level and the general ranking are obtained. Results: The results show that the principal, as the first responsible person for the implementation of school sports policy, plays a directional decisive role in the implementation of school sports policy. Organizational mechanism and funding guarantee factors are necessary conditions for the implementation of school sports policy, and school sports policy factors are a powerful driving force for the implementation of school sports policy. Conclusion: AHP provides theoretical reference for better understanding the influencing factors of school physical education policy implementation and putting forward corresponding intervention measures.


Developed, developing and under developed countries follow different education systems by considering the tradition and culture, adopt different stages during their life cycle at various stages of education levels to make it effectively and to provide valuable information to the students. As per the recommendations of an expert committee headed by Dr. Kasturirangan, the Govt. of India announced and approved the New Education Policy (NEP – 2020) pave the way for transformational reforms in both lower and higher education system. It is a well defined and futuristic education policy is essential for a country for economic and social progress. This paper is a review article on New Education Policy implementation, comparisons with earlier policies at various stages of education system in India.

Teacher commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi is emphasised within the latest Code of Professional Responsibility and Standards for the Teaching Profession (Education Council, 2017). Teachers must explicitly demonstrate commitment to tangata whenuatanga and Te Tiriti o Waitangi. This mandate is encouraging for Māori education needs and aspirations. We describe the use of a culturally sustaining teacher practice framework to examine Māori education policy implementation implications within an initial teacher education te ao Māori course. We explain how course content, delivery and assessment aspects can be critiqued and policy implications identified to illustrate the usefulness of the framework for teacher educators and practising teachers. We demonstrate how the framework can be a useful tool for teacher educators to examine culturally sustaining practice in preparing themselves and student teachers to work effectively with indigenous learners.

The momentum of decentralization that occurred in 1998 gave hope for the improvement of the quality of education services, especially in border areas. However, although several of policy instruments have been established, some empirical studies precisely showed that hope still difficult to realize. This research aims to analyzing how key determinants of elementary school education policy implementation in border areas are operationalized, with Sekayam and Entikong Districts, Sanggau Regency, West Borneo Province as a specific locus. Qualitative approach with descriptive methods used in this research. Data collection techniques used are in-depth interviews, FGD, direct observation, and documentation, meanwhile data analysis techniques used Miles, Huberman, and Saldana models. This research finds that key determinants of elementary school education policy implementation in border areas which consists of the dimensions: design of the policy, stakeholders, context, the implementation strategy is not fully optimal. This research recommends several things such as:  the government needs to increase the accessibility of better education, strengthen collaboration between the central government and local governments, strengthen planning and budgeting, and needed holistic evaluation of the application of E-Takola so that the aid mechanism provided to elementary schools in all border areas can be more effective.

The country of Botswana has passed laws to support the human rights of their citizens, including people with learning disabilities. In accordance with the United Nations’ guidelines, Botswana’s human rights initiatives, and the international movement toward inclusive education, inclusive educational reform is taking place. We have conducted a comprehensive literature review, the purpose of which was to establish the progress Botswana has made in special education policy, implementation of policy into schools, and the strides made toward inclusion. However, there are still many struggles comparable to many school systems in African nations. Key findings include a nation with significant developments in human rights which includes a developing inclusive education system with both policy and implementation, yet, still coping with the growing pains of a young special education program.
