AbstractWe elaborate on the structure of the conformal anomaly effective action up to 4-th order, in an expansion in the gravitational fluctuations (h) of the background metric, in the flat spacetime limit. For this purpose we discuss the renormalization of 4-point functions containing insertions of stress-energy tensors (4T), in conformal field theories in four spacetime dimensions with the goal of identifying the structure of the anomaly action. We focus on a separation of the correlator into its transverse/traceless and longitudinal components, applied to the trace and conservation Ward identities (WI) in momentum space. These are sufficient to identify, from their hierarchical structure, the anomaly contribution, without the need to proceed with a complete determination of all of its independent form factors. Renormalization induces sequential bilinear graviton-scalar mixings on single, double and multiple trace terms, corresponding to $$R\square ^{-1}$$ R □ - 1 interactions of the scalar curvature, with intermediate virtual massless exchanges. These dilaton-like terms couple to the conformal anomaly, as for the chiral anomalous WIs. We show that at 4T level a new traceless component appears after renormalization. We comment on future extensions of this result to more general backgrounds, with possible applications to non local cosmologies.

The industry produces a variety of wastes in production processes. This has a negative impact on the state of ecological balance. Today, in the oil industry, many different types of oil waste are accumulated as reserves. Focusing them on targeted production is one of the most pressing issues today. The use of a high-vacuum adsorption device is important in producing adsorbents from coke and asphalt from residual oil products and in the complete determination of the sorption properties of the obtained adsorbents. Benzene and toluene adsorption isotherms, the sorption volume, and properties of the new adsorbent can be described in detail by studying the adsorption heat.

AbstractWe initiate the study of the groups (l,m\mid n,k\mid p,q) defined by the presentation \langle a,b\mid a^{l},b^{m},(ab)^{n},(a^{p}b^{q})^{k}\rangle. When p=1 and q=m-1, we obtain the group (l,m\mid n,k), first systematically studied by Coxeter in 1939. In this paper, we restrict ourselves to the case l=2 and \frac{1}{n}+\frac{1}{k}\leq\frac{1}{2} and give a complete determination as to which of the resulting groups are finite. We also, under certain broadly defined conditions, calculate generating sets for the second homotopy group \pi_{2}(Z), where 𝑍 is the space formed by attaching 2-cells corresponding to (ab)^{n} and (ab^{q})^{k} to the wedge sum of the Eilenberg–MacLane spaces 𝑋 and 𝑌, where \pi_{1}(X)\cong C_{2} and \pi_{1}(Y)\cong C_{m}; in particular, \pi_{1}(Z)\cong(2,m\mid n,k\mid 1,q).

A complete determination of the carotenoid composition of the edible aril and mesocarp of Cionosicyos macranthus fruit is reported for the first time. The carotenoids present in the fruit were identified and quantified using high-purity carotenoid standards. The fruit contained several rare carotenoids like zeaxanthin, β-cryptoxanthin, and cryptocapsin epoxides. Various keto-κ end-ring carotenoids, derivatives of their corresponding epoxides, ie cryptocapsin, capsanthin, capsanthin 5,6-epoxide, and capsoneoxanthin, were also identified. The total carotenoid contents for the aril and mesocarp were 226.0 μg/g and 83.4 µg/g, respectively. β-Cryptoxanthin was the most abundant carotenoid in both edible parts (58.3 μg/g in the aril and 29.5 μg/g in the mesocarp). Cryptocapsin was the primary keto-κ end-ring carotenoid both in the aril (41.6 μg/g) and in the mesocarp (13.2 μg/g). The fruit provitamin A activity was also determined. Considering the high β-cryptoxanthin and cryptocapsin contents, C. macranthus can be considered a good source of provitamin A carotenoids.
