PurposeJapan's decision to release nuclear wastewater into the Pacific Ocean in 2023 has sparked strong opposition at home and abroad. In this study, Graph Model for Conflict Resolution (GMCR) method is adopted to analyze the conflict problem, and reasonable equilibrium solutions are given to solve the conflict event.Design/methodology/approachIn this study, GMCR is adopted to solve the conflict problem. First, identify the key decision-makers (DMs) on the issue of nuclear effluent and the relevant options they might adopt. Second, the options of each DM are arranged and combined to form a set of feasible states. Thirdly, the graph model is constructed according to the change of DM's options, and the relative preference of each DM is determined. Finally, the conflict problem is solved according to the definition of GMCR equilibrium.FindingsDischarging nuclear wastewater into the ocean is not the right choice to solve the problem. Developing more space to store nuclear wastewater is more conducive to the protection of the ocean environment.Practical implicationsIt is undesirable for the Japanese government to unilaterally discharge nuclear wastewater into the ocean. Objectively assessing the radioactivity of nuclear wastewater and the cooperation of relevant stakeholders can better solve this conflict.Originality/valueThe problem arising from Japan's releasing plan is complicated because of a lack of information and the existence of multiple stakeholders, while GMCR can help us with a better view of the current circumstance in the conflict.

The study purposes were to understand the background of women scientist (WS) in studying science, what motivate them to choose science and technology field, exploring their achievement, understanding their social support, exploring their problems. This research was qualitative case study approach. The key informant were four who come from Industrial Engineering and Mathematics and Science Faculty of Universitas Islam Indonesia. The data collection method used depth interviews, observation and documentation. The data test method used triangulation while analysis uses reduction-display-conclusion. The research found that WS studied science because of their interest of internal factor and the environment role of external factor. Their motives also gave benefit for others and increase their networking that is bit similar to McClelland’s Theory. WS had high excellent achievement in functional and structural positions, they received awards from their university until international award which are related to their research result. They also occupied important university structural position. They faced role conflict problem which similar to Greenhaus and Beutell (1985) Theory which increase their behavior changing. They faced marginalization because of their marital status and fear of success tendency which are losing cooking skills and having risk of not having friends which similar to Shaw and Costanzo (1982) Theory.

This paper considers the principle-agent conflict problem in a continuous-time delegated asset management model when the investor and the fund manager are all risk-averse with risk sensitivity coefficients γ f  and  γ m , respectively. Suppose that the investor entrusts his money to the fund manager. The return of the investment is determined by the manager’s effort level and incentive strategy, but the benefit belongs to the investor. In order to encourage the manager to work hard, the investor will determine the manager’s salary according to the terminal income. This is a stochastic differential game problem, and the distribution of income between the manager and the investor is a key point to be solved in the custody model. The uncertain form of the incentive strategy implies that the problem is different from the classical stochastic optimal control problem. In this paper, we first express the investor’s incentive strategy in term of two auxiliary processes and turn this problem into a classical one. Then, we employ the dynamic programming principle to solve the problem.

The representation of three-dimensional volumetric pixels, voxels, is an important issue for the near-to-eye displays (NEDs) to solve the vergence-accommodation conflict problem. Although the holographic waveguides using holographic optical element (HOE) couplers are promising technologies for NEDs with the ultra-thin structure and high transparency, most of them have presented only a single and fixed depth plane. In this paper, we analyze the imaging characteristics of holographic waveguides, particularly to represent the arbitrary voxels and investigate the voxel duplication problem arising from the non-collimated light from the voxels. In order to prevent the image crosstalk arising from the voxel duplication, we propose an adjustment method for the emission angle profile of voxels by using the integral imaging technique. In the proposed method, the sub-regions of elemental images, which correspond to the duplicated voxels, are masked in order to optimize the emission angle of integrated voxels. In the experimental verification, a see-through integral imaging system, based on the organic light-emitting diode display and a holographic waveguide with the thickness of 5 mm, was constructed. The fabricated HOE in the waveguide showed high diffraction efficiency of 72.8 %, 76.6%, and 72.5 % for 460 nm, 532 nm, and 640 nm lasers, respectively. By applying the masked elemental images, the proposed method resulted in a reduced crosstalk in the observed voxels by 2.35 times. The full-color experimental results of see-through holographic waveguide with integral imaging are provided, whereby the observed 3D images are presented clearly without the ghost images due to the voxel duplication problem.

In this paper, an improved genetic algorithm is designed to solve the above multiobjective optimization problem for the scheduling problem of college English courses. Firstly, a variable-length decimal coding scheme satisfying the same course that can be scheduled at different times, different classrooms, and different teaching weeks per week is proposed, which fully considers the flexibility of classrooms and time arrangements of the course and makes the scheduling problem more reasonable. Secondly, a problem-specific local search operator is designed to accelerate the convergence speed of the algorithm. Finally, under the framework of optimal individual retention, the selection operator, crossover operator, and variation operator are improved. It is experimentally demonstrated that the designed algorithm not only has a faster convergence speed but also improves the diversity of individuals to a certain extent to enhance the search space and jump out of the local optimum. Research shows that the improved genetic algorithm has improved average fitness value and time compared with traditional genetic algorithm. At the same time, the use of the largest fuzzy pattern algorithm effectively solves the conflict problem of college English lesson scheduling, thereby improving the solution of college English lesson scheduling. Through the research of this article, the management system of college English course scheduling has been made more intelligent, and the rational allocation of teaching resources and the completion of education and teaching plans have been improved.

The local expansion was a concrete manifestation of local autonomy. In addition, regional expansion is splitting from one region to more than one region to support community welfare. The problems discussed in this study were the consequences of the law of local expansion on the registration of land rights in Ogan Komering Ulu district and solutions to resolve land conflicts due to the expansion of the area. This study uses a normative juridical approach where the literature used is regulations and books. In conclusions, the legal consequences of the division of Ogan Komering Ulu District on the implementation of land registration indicate a change in the work area and authority for making land deeds by the Land Deed Making Officials and changes in the work area and authority in carrying out the duties and obligations of registering land at the Land Office of Ogan Komering Ulu district. To solve this conflict problem, the Ministry of Home Affairs sometimes must intervene in the dispute resolution process. Conflicts like this can hinder the wheels of government in the regions. Another solution is for the government to immediately finalize the grand design while still paying close attention to historical aspects and customs before many conflicts occur in the regions.

In response to the problem that weights in product planning and design are difficult to accurately reflect the real needs of users, a design method for hexagonal shaft straightening machines based on quality function configuration and evidence theory is proposed. First, based on the method of quality function deployment and evidence theory, the demand indicator and its importance are determined by market research and the Kano model. Second, to solve the conflict problem in the process of expert opinion aggregation, combined with evidence theory, taking expert knowledge as evidence, the possible value space of causal strength among nodes constitutes the recognition framework, which is used to synthesize the knowledge of multiple experts. The indicator correlation degree is reflected by using a correlation weight matrix, and effective solutions to the relevant theoretical problems and algorithms, such as those for competitive indicator evaluation, weight calculation and planning target value cases, are proposed. Finally, according to the analysis results for the various structural elements of the house of quality, a hexagonal shaft straightening machine function for master planning house of quality was constructed, and propose a design and build the main experimental platform. The relevant test results show that the technical specifications of the hexagonal shaft straightening machine basically meet the requirements of the overall planning target values, verifying the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method.

Este artículo analiza y revela las claves de una propuesta de proyecto de innovación educativa, ideada y planeada por mí para ser desarrollada, como profesora e investigadora postdoctoral, en la Escuela de Arquitectura integrada en la Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts de Copenhague (KADK), en el Instituto de Arquitectura y Diseño (IAD). El proyecto, donde el aula se concibe como un laboratorio de arquitectura lugar de encuentro entre las asignaturas de Diseño Arquitectónico y Construcción de Edificios, integra una variedad de metodologías educativas innovadoras: Gamificación, Aula Invertida (Flipped Classroom), Aprendizaje Basado en Retos, Pensamiento de Diseño (Design Thinking), Inteligencia Colectiva, etc… A través de él, los estudiantes de arquitectura son capaces de mejorar su creatividad y adquirir diversos conocimientos, fortalezas y habilidades complementarias, entre ellas: La creación de un espacio privado, la reflexión sobre la idea de habitar; la exploración del diseño arquitectónico conectado con la naturaleza; nociones acerca de diseño sostenible y reciclaje; la progresión de su pensamiento crítico y creativo; el desarrollo de sus habilidades de comunicación gráfica, escrita y oral; la activación de su pensamiento independiente y original; y la mejora de sus habilidades de liderazgo y organización, co-diseño, gestión del tiempo, habilidades de resolución de conflictos/problemas y toma de decisiones. El artículo ofrece recursos para la buena práctica e implementación de la innovación educativa, y, por lo tanto, para facilitar la innovación a nivel del aula. Facilita herramientas para superar los desafíos que enfrentan los modelos de aprendizaje innovadores en la educación de Arquitectura. The project, where the classroom is conceived as an architecture laboratory, a meeting place between the subjects of Architectural Design and Building Construction, integrates a variety of innovative educational methodologies: Gamification, Flipped Classroom, Challenge-Based Learning, Thinking of Design (Design Thinking), Collective Intelligence, etc ... Through it, architecture students are able to improve their creativity and acquire various knowledge, strengths and complementary skills, including: The creation of a private space, reflection on the idea of inhabiting; the exploration of architectural design connected with nature; notions about sustainable design and recycling; the progression of your critical and creative thinking; the development of your graphic, written and oral communication skills; the activation of your independent and original thinking; and improving your leadership and organization skills, co-design, time management, conflict / problem solving skills, and decision making. The article offers resources for good practice and implementation of educational innovation, and therefore to facilitate innovation at the classroom level. It provides tools to overcome the challenges faced by innovative learning models in Architecture education. But above all it aims to foster innovation in architectural design education by empowering and inspiring teachers and other educational staff to use innovative teaching methods, while sharing their best practice and experience with their colleagues

During material handling processes, automated guided vehicles (AGVs) pose a path conflict problem. To solve this problem, we proposed a multi-objective scheduling model based on total driving distance and waiting time, and used the A* path planning algorithm to search the shortest path of AGV. By using a speed control strategy, we were able to detect the overlap path and the conflict time. Additionally, we adopted an efficient MapReduce framework to improve the speed control strategy execution efficiency. At last, a material handling system of smart electrical connectors workshop was discussed to verify the scheduling model and the speed control strategy combined with the MapReduce framework is feasible and effective to reduce the AGV path conflict probability. The material handling system could be applied in workshop to replace manual handling and to improve production efficiency.
