Distance-based learning has become one of the common alternative learning options. Currently, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many academic programmes, including programmes with internship requirements, have switched their teaching and learning strategies from on-campus learning to online platforms. This study aims to understand the experiences and sense-making processes of student-teachers who have completed their student-teaching internships online during the COVID-19 pandemic. To understand the feedback, experiences, and sense-making processes of this group of student-teachers, it is important to collect first-hand sharing. More importantly, the trend of distance learning-based student-teaching internships will be developed during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. The results of this study will serve as one of the first reports about student-teachers' experiences.

Distinguished Muslim scholars in the past and at present time have given a great emphasis on the importance of adab (Islamic ethics) in a believers life. Due to global ever-changing progress and development in terms of advanced technologies, almost all aspects of human beings life are considerably affected. In education, the teaching and learning process has evolved accordingly where users have, eagerly or unwillingly, accepted online learning as part of teaching and learning strategies. This situation has created worries among those who uphold the conventional Islamic corpus approach and those who support todays need in education. Therefore, the objective of this study is to examine the concept of adab of the learned and the learner from the viewpoint of Imam al-Nawawi to provide a fundamental guideline for the online learning educators and novices. A deductive textual approach is used to achieve the purpose. It can be concluded that the narrative of adab for the learned and the learner is undeniably apparent which may benefit users of online learning. It is suggested that a further study may analyze this subject matter in-depth to provide clear adab-based teaching and learning strategies for Muslim users in particular.

<p><span>This study aimed to calibrate the test items of science process skills used as a test at primary school students to provide information on the difficulty of each item. Data were collected from 128 standard five students in a primary school in Penang. The test was given in multiple-choice as many as 40 items consisting of 33 items partial credit test was developed to gather information from the students. The analysis included an assessment of the model’s assumptions and calibrations according to the individual items. Information on the Rasch calibration according to the topic were provided. Results revealed that the measurement made fulfilled both model-data fit and unidimensionality assumptions. Further analysis showed that observing and communicating were endorsed as the easiest to master while inferring and classifying were the most challenging. The study discussed the implication, particularly towards the teaching and learning of science process skills in the classroom. Teachers should seriously consider the science process skills when designing their teaching and learning strategies in the classroom.</span></p>

ABSTRACT Decoloniality was adopted as a framework to unravel the societal and/or self-inflicted coloniality in a child’s development. This study is lensed under the Transformative Paradigm (TP), designed using Participatory Research (PR). Five lecturers and five teachers, who are also parents in a rural location in South Africa, were selected using the snowballing selection method. The participants were interviewed to share their experiences on the danger of culture and its effects on youths/students’ development. Socio-thematic Analysis (StA) was used to analyse the data. The findings showed that cultural history, elders’ self-righteousness, and stereotyping children as rebels are the challenges facing children’s social development. At the same time, the reorientation of students, parents and educators, restructuring teaching and learning strategies are the dimension of the liberation of children’s social development. This study recommends that teachers, parents, children and community elders be re-orientated while teachers/lecturers should restructure their teaching and learning process to accommodate children’s participatory skills in schools.
