In this article, we propose a recent iterative learning algorithm for sensor data fusion to detect pitch actuator failures in wind turbines. The development of this proposed approach is based on iterative learning control and Lyapunov’s theories. Numerical experiments were carried out to support our main contribution. These experiments consist of using a well-known wind turbine hydraulic pitch actuator model with some common faults, such as high oil content in the air, hydraulic leaks, and pump wear.

This study presents a new approach for multi-agent systems (MASs). The agent dynamics are approximated by the suggested type-3 (T3) fuzzy logic system (FLS). Some sufficient conditions based on the event-triggered scheme are presented to ensure the stability under less activation of the actuators. New tuning rules are obtained for T3-FLSs form the stability and robustness examination. The effect of perturbations, actuator failures and approximation errors are compensated by the designed adaptive compensators. Simulation results show that the output of all agents well converged to the leader agent under disturbances and faulty conditions. Additionally, it is shown that the suggested event-triggered scheme is effective and the actuators are updated about 20–40% of total sample times.

We investigate robust fault-tolerant control pertaining to Takagi–Sugeno (TS) fuzzy nonlinear systems with bounded disturbances, actuator failures, and time delays. A new fault model based on a sampled-data scheme that is able to satisfy certain criteria in relation to actuator fault matrix is introduced. Specifically, we formulate a reliable controller with state feedback, such that the resulting closed-loop-fuzzy system is robust, asymptotically stable, and able to satisfy a prescribed H∞ performance constraint. Linear matrix inequality (LMI) together with a proper construction of the Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional is leveraged to derive delay-dependent sufficient conditions with respect to the existence of robust H∞ controller. It is straightforward to obtain the solution by using the MATLAB LMI toolbox. We demonstrate the effectiveness of the control law and less conservativeness of the results through two numerical simulations.

Purpose The paper takes the air-ground integrated wireless ad hoc network-integrated system as the research object, this paper aims to propose a distributed robust H∞ adaptive fault-tolerant control algorithm suitable for the system to distribute to solve the problem of control and communication failure at the same time. Design/methodology/approach In the paper, the authors propose a distributed robust H∞ adaptive fault-tolerant control algorithm suitable for the air-ground integrated wireless ad hoc network-integrated system. Findings The results show that the integrated system has good robustness and fault tolerance performance indicators for flight control and wireless signal transmission when confronted with external disturbances, internal actuator failures and wireless network associated failures and the flight control curve of the quadrotor unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is generally smooth and stable, even if it encounters external disturbances and actuator failures, its fault tolerance performance is very good. Then in the range of 400–800 m wireless communication distance, the success rate of wireless signal loop transmission is stable at 80%–100% and the performance is at least relatively improved by 158.823%. Originality/value This paper takes the air-ground integrated wireless ad hoc network-integrated system as the research object, based on the robust fault-tolerant control algorithm, the authors propose a distributed robust H∞ adaptive fault-tolerant control algorithm suitable for the system and through the Riccati equation and linear matrix inequation method, the designed distributed robust H∞ adaptive fault-tolerant controller further optimizes the fault suppression factor γ, so as to break through the limitation of only one Lyapunov matrix for different fault modes to distribute to solve the problem of control and communication failure at the same time.
