Purpose: The purpose of the research is to be investigated and assessed the significance of variables related to gingivitis in children with diagnosed pyelonephritis and nephrotic syndrome. Materials and Methods: The subject of the study is represented by participants in the age interval from 0 to 18 years. They are divided into two main groups, namely a group of 92 children with diagnosed pyelonephritis and 24 children with nephrotic syndrome. There is a group of 41 healthy children. Clinical, para-clinical, sociological and statistical methods are implemented in association with the study’s aim. The model of the research is based on an investigation of the significance of definite variables: gingival index GI Lõe-Silness, level of salivary leucocytes, salivary blood and salivary glucose. In addition to these indicators are recorded some patterns of environmental matter. Results: Among the participants with the diagnosis of nephrotic syndrome is recorded the maximal value of GI= 2.04. A similar maximal value of GI=2.00 corresponds to the group of children with pyelonephritis. In both of the subgroups of children suffering from renal disorders is registered the considerable maximal value of salivary blood equal to 250.00 RBC/µl, compared to the maximal value of 50.00 RBC /µl for healthy participants. It is ascertained that the variables of salivary blood and salivary leucocytes correspond to the condition of gingivitis in children with diagnosed pyelonephritis and nephrotic syndrome. Conclusion: A definite impingement of excretory system disorders upon gingiva, especially among children suffering from nephrotic syndrome, is ascertained.

Every day humans face new challenges to survive in this world. It is a big challenge to utilize hydro and thermal generating unit properly. Researchers are trying to explore new techniques to improve scheduling of generating units. Environmental matter is a big issue to modern society. This chapter suggests a well-organized and effective approach using concept of grey wolf optimization (GWO) to deal with non-linear, multi-objective, short-term, hydro-thermal scheduling (MOHTS) problem. Moreover, authors have incorporated oppositional based learning (OBL) to enhance characteristics of GWO to achieve solution more consistently and accurately. To explore authenticity of our proposed algorithms, GWO and OGWO (oppositional based GWO) are applied to multi-chain cascade of 4-hydro and 3-thermal test system. Effective constraints like valve-point loading, water discharge, water storage, etc., are considered here. Statistical comparisons with other enlisted heuristic methods are done. The projected methods solve MOHTS problem quickly and efficiently.

Abstract Water crisis and, particularly, drop in rainfall in Iran are not only an environmental matter but also a security issue. This paper tries to draw attention to the substantial social consequences of climate change in Iran and particularly addresses whether precipitation scarcity from 2007 to 2014 has a conflict-making effect in the province of Iran using the system GMM model. We show that rainfall shortage and the Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI), as an index of drought, could stimulate the propensity for individuals to engage in disruptive activities in provinces of Iran.

Over the past two decades, activists and market actors have successfully liberalized marijuana consumption and distribution in most US states. Given ongoing federal supply-side interdiction strategies, however, production has been another matter. This article traces the emergence of marijuana cultivation as an environmental matter. “The environment” increasingly constitutes a material-discursive social field into which actors (e.g. activists, law enforcement, producers, conservationists) can launch interventions into productive processes. The article traces three early, formative interventions in northern California: by federal agents to “reclaim” and protect public lands; by a county government to discipline and segregate compliant environmental citizens from recalcitrant, racialized “criminals”; and by producers themselves to mobilize environmental discourses in regulatory debates. Amidst ideas of pollution, reclamation, stewardship, and sustainability, these projects revalorized marijuana production, articulating with and departing from entrenched systems of inequality and stigma. As marijuana production liberalizes, this article draws attention to the legacy of prohibition moralities in regulatory debates, the necessity of incorporating criminalized actors in civil regulation and knowledge formation, and the possibility for a liberation environmentality that exceeds the terms of exploitative, extractive relations that dominate contemporary agriculture, land use, and drug policy.

E-petitioning related to environmental matters is a rather new participatory behavior in the Romanian society and it seems to attract more and more the attention of a larger public (not just a minority of educated eco-citizens or experts in related fields). Lately, in Romania there were a few major e-petitioning campaigns trying to stop large and popular economic investments projects that were detrimental to the environment (the most visible are petitions fighting the building of microdams on mountain rivers, regional landfills, mining projects). Also, those campaigns led to media coverage, brought on a public debate through some media channels, revealed serious problems with how the state authorizes such projects, and even managed to get the attention of the European Commission. None of these would have been possible without the very source of large public mobilization on an environmental matter, e-participation and e-petitions. Thus, the paper investigates e-petitions in the environmental field in order to understand their impact on environmental problems, and also, most importantly, if these e-petitions manage to influence environmental policy and governance. For decades, through the entire process of European integration, Romania has struggled with meeting the environmental standards required by the EU. Data is lacking or unreliable, there is a culture of lack of transparency related to environmental matters both in the public and in the private sector, and Romania needs to seriously address this problem. The paper provides an investigation of ‘if’ and ‘how’ e-petitioning could be a tool to move state and society towards effective environmental governance in the Romanian context.

***Abstract:Between 1982 and 2000 the mexican state created an important legal and administrative structure for the environmental protection as well as the local and regional development. ___Palabras clave: Estrategias Ambientales, Biodiversidad, Producción y Consumo Sostenible. ___Abstract: Day after day the public opinion contemplates how Colombia, diverse country and gifted of great wealth in biodiversity, is diminishing qualitatively and quantitatively his resources, affecting not only the quality of life in our principal cities, but the possibility of using this wealth rationally as engine of development. This article raises as aim, a reflection on the need and relevancy of restating the environmental strategies used at present and asks, if really these prevent the gradual deterioration of the natural resources, and if really they guarantee the constitutional law of the article 79, named right to enjoy a healthy environment. To methodological level, this work arises from a documentary review, and raises as discussion the reflection on environmental strategies in the national and international area to confront the environmental problematics in the productive sector. As conclusion emphasizes that in Colombia, in spite of possessing multiple coercive instruments in environmental matter, these are not constituted in a solution of bottom to the problematic ones that they attack, a politics is necessary in the matter, which could create tools of market, agreements of automanagement and this way strengthen the relations between the public and private thing. ___Keywords: Environmental strategies, biodiversity, production and sustainable consumption. ___Recibido febrero 28 de 2014 / Aceptado abril 29 de 2014
