Objective of the paper is to explore Koichi Yamamoto’s approach to printmaking, how his printmaking practices evolved, which methods he makes use of, and his interdisciplinary work. Importance of the paper is that it aims to explore the work by a Japanese-born contemporary printmaker by focusing on the particular period of his career, it provides a source to printmaking literature, and it will become a source material for future studies. It hasn’t been found any academic material such as articles or dissertations concerning the work by the artist in question. The paper, therefore, was limited theoretically with exhibition catalogues, the artist’s personal website, news on exhibitions and workshops as well as resources shared by the artist himself that were received via e-mail. Literature review, exhibition observing, artwork analysis and interview done electronically were used as methods in the paper. As a result, the findings on Koichi Yamamoto’s contemporary productions in printmaking, his technical mastery, and how he combined traditional and contemporary methods were presented. It was stressed how the artist blended all the information he got from various places of the world in his work. Keywords: Koichi Yamamoto, printmaking, interdisciplinary, contemporary printmaking

Palavras-chave: Processos Glaciais; Trabalho de Campo; Geomorfologia de Portugal.ABSTRACTThe current work has as objective to demonstrate, through an experience report of a field work at Serra da Estrela, Portugal, what is the importance of this kind of activity to landscape understanding and for the search of a demystification of the “theory and praxis” dichotomy. When performing a study travel to a region that shows recent acts of geomorphological processes such as periglacials, differently of any space in Brazilian context, made it possible to identify the field work importance to geographical sciences students and researchers as an auxiliary to classrooms and office work. The landscape understanding is, together with bibliography contribution, a powerful tool to comprehend the processes that compound the territories, at both research fields such as physical and human geography. The current study examined work value differentiation and profile elevation (PE). Using a sample of 251 college students who provided data on the O*NET Work Importance Profiler online, it was found that (1) when differentiation of work values was calculated using three indices (i.e., high–low differentiation, Iachan differentiation, and variance differentiation), only Iachan differentiation positively related to indecision; (2) none of the three indices of differentiation related to career maturity; (3) work value PE positively related to extraversion and openness and negatively related to depressive symptoms and career indecision but was unrelated to career certainty and neuroticism; and (4) work value PE moderated the relationship between Iachan differentiation and career indecision. The findings from this study have valuable implications for both vocational counselors and clients and should help to improve the utility of individuals’ work values results.

Abstract. It is suggested that work importance research has suffered from construct proliferation, and that the literature would benefit from returning to Dubin’s (1956) original notion of work importance as a general construct – representing the degree to which work plays a central role in one’s life space. Measures of three work importance constructs (i.e., work involvement, job involvement, work ethic endorsement) were administered to (n = 758) working adults from the USA to examine dimensionality using bifactor analysis. Results showed the bifactor model fit the data better than a one-factor or three-factor model. The bifactor model suggests that both general and domain-specific factors appear to exist, but that the general work importance factor predicts most work outcomes to a substantial degree.
