Abstract: In recent years, the safety constitutes the foremost necessary section of the human life. At this point, the price is that the greatest issue. This technique is incredibly helpful for reducing the price of watching the movement from outside. During this paper, a period of time recognition system is planned which will equip for handling pictures terribly quickly. The most objective of this paper is to safeguard home, workplace by recognizing individuals. The face is that the foremost distinctivea part of human’s body. So, it will replicate several emotions of associate degree Expression. A few years past, humans were mistreatment the non-living things like good cards, plastic cards, PINS, tokens and keys for authentication, and to urge grant access in restricted areas like ISRO, National Aeronautics and Space Administration and DRDO. The most necessary options of the face image are Eyes, Nose and mouth. Face detection and recognition system is simpler, cheaper, a lot of accurate, process. The system under two categories one is face detection and face recognition. Objective: Dual enrollment has become a significant portion of community college enrollment throughout the country. Some scholars have argued that dual enrollment implementation can be used as a viable policy lever to achieve the certificate and associate degree obtainment outcomes identified in Reclaiming the American Dream, a large-scale policy framework driving the community college completion agenda. However, research on dual enrollment participation and credential completion is just starting to emerge with little focus on associate degree and certificate obtainment. To fill this gap, this study investigates the relationship between dual enrollment and credential completion, paying close attention to associate degree and short-term certificate obtainment. Methods: A quantitative analysis was conducted with data from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) to ascertain the relationship between taking college classes in high school and post-secondary credential obtainment. Disaggregated completion percentages were collected both 3 and 5 years after students began at a post-secondary institution, and binary logistic regression models were constructed to calculate the odds of post-secondary credential obtainment when taking dual enrollment courses. Results: Overall, dual enrollment students have increased odds of completing any post-secondary credential compared to non-dual enrollment students. When disaggregated by credential type, dual enrollment students have diminished odds of completing an associate degree or certificate, compared to increased odds of completing a bachelor’s degree. Contributions: This study adds to the growing literature surrounding dual enrollment and post-secondary credential obtainment by demonstrating that dual enrollment is not a viable policy lever to achieve the credential obtainment goals of the completion agenda.

This study aimed to explore the awareness among individuals engaged in recreational cycling about the benefits of cycling. The study consists of 66 participants in the age group of 18-30 who are interested in recreational cycling in the province of Sakarya. The “Recreation Awareness Scale” developed by Ekinci and Özdilek (2019) was used as a data collection tool in the study. In the study, skewness and kurtosis (kurtosis) were evaluated to ensure the normal distribution of the data in addition to descriptive statistical methods such as percentage and frequency. As a result, we found the data to be normally distributed and, thus, utilized the parametric tests. Accordingly, the groups were compared using a t-test and an analysis of variance (ANOVA). In addition, we performed a Tukey test to find out the group(s) as the source of difference. Then, Pearson’s correlation analysis was performed to see the association between two continuous variables. The results revealed that the participants did not differ significantly on pleasure/entertainment, social/achievement, and self-development subscales by gender. Yet, the mean scores of the participants differed significantly on the social/achievement and self-development subscales by educational attainment. The post hoc test suggested that those having a high school degree got significantly higher scores on the social/achievement subscale than the participant with an associate degree. Moreover, the high school graduates obtained higher scores on the self-development subscale than those with a secondary school, associate, and undergraduate degree. Considering the relationship between recreation awareness and age, the Pearson’s correlation test revealed significant positive relationships between age and the participants’ scores on the social/achievement and self-development subscales. Yet, we could not find a significant relationship between age and the pleasure/entertainment subscale.

The rhetorically complex concluding components of academic written texts often challenge novice writers, having to summarise their arguments and stance, and offer prospective comments on future developments concerning the subject matter. With an aim to elucidate the lexicogrammatical expressions of such prospective comments in essay conclusions, the present study adopts the system of modality informed by Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL) to examine the conclusions of explanatory essays written by non-native English speaking associate degree business students. The analysis compares the modality expressions deployed in high- and low-graded essay conclusions, including modality types, explicitness, subjectivity and value. The analysis also investigates how the modality resources are combined for providing more than one comment in the conclusion. The findings show that high-graded texts have a more balanced choice of modality, less overly assertive features and more prospective comments, while they still require improvements on a more consistent deployment of modality features. This paper concludes with a brief discussion on teaching implications of the present study, in that writing instruction can make explicit the functions of different modality expressions and equip students with the linguistic repertoires appropriate for more formal and technical academic written registers.

Aspects of religiosity and spirituality (R/S) are associated with alleviating stress and influencing the treatment decision-making process in surrogates of patients in the intensive care unit (ICU). The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the mental health of the population, but no significance has been established with spiritual well-being. This study hypothesized that the pandemic negatively affected surrogate spiritual well-being in a relationship mediated by a surrogate’s intrinsic religiosity, religious coping, and non-organizational religiosity. It was also hypothesized that surrogates would desire less aggressive treatments and have lower goals of patient function due to the pandemic. Baseline surrogate survey data using the FACIT-sp, Brief RCOPE and Durel scales, as well as answers to questions regarding treatment preferences and goal of patient function from the Chaplain Family Project were used in this study along with the pandemic status of the surrogate at the time of interview. There were 100 surrogates interviewed prior to the pandemic and 82 interviewed during the pandemic with a mean age of 54.5 and 53.8 years, respectively, who were mostly white (82.0% and 75.6%, respectively), female (72.0% and 72.0%, respectively), and on average had obtained at least an associate degree. There was a significantly greater preference for aggressive, life-sustaining interventions (LSIs) over relief of pain (26.1% pre-pandemic to 40.9% during pandemic, p=0.0494) and a significantly fewer proportion of patient-surrogate advance conversations (66.7% to 51.9%, p=0.0435) in the during pandemic group. There was no statistical difference found in spiritual well-being, intrinsic religiosity, religious coping, non-organizational religiosity (NOR), treatment preferences, nor patient function goals between the pandemic status groups, when controlling for surrogate demographics and previous patient advance care planning. A longitudinal study should further investigate the possible effect of the pandemic upon surrogate spiritual well-being and ICU decisions and experiences for greater clarity.

This current study aims to identify the problem areas of the post-secondary vocational schools and develop some possible actions that could be taken to improve them. In order to obtain information about the current status of these schools, a questionnaire was prepared and distributed to post-secondary vocational school employees and 167 industrial sector representatives. The answers of these respondents were analyzed by using factor analysis, and some indexes were generated. The results of this study suggest that the main problems of the post-secondary vocational schools are stated as the limited collaboration between the post-secondary vocational schools and the private sector firms, selection of inappropriate locations to open post-secondary vocational schools, limited social facilities, and the lack of job opportunities for some graduates of associate degree programs. Some institutional and educational recommendations are suggested by the participants for solving these problems. For example, to improve the institutional status of the post-secondary vocational schools, the duration of workplace training should be increased, machinery and equipment used in these schools should be enhanced, and employment demand projections should be taken into consideration while determining the student admission quotas. In terms of education and training, they propose that the education period should be extended for the students to gain professional skills and competences, and a preparatory class should be placed to improve the basic professional skills of the general high school graduates who enrolled in these schools.

Abstract The Academy for Gerontology in Higher Education (AGHE), the education member group of GSA, is the only national institutional membership organization devoted primarily to gerontology and geriatrics education. Its mission provides for development and sponsorship of initiatives to advance the field of aging through its focus on education in gerontology/geriatrics. AGHE first published the Gerontology and Geriatrics Curricular Standards over three decades ago – a document that has been an integral resource for implementing/revising programs in liberal arts, the sciences, and more recently, health professions. To meet the needs in the field for increased breadth and depth of content, the new 7th edition of the educational guidelines fully embraces competency-based education for gerontology, as the health professions programs have for years. Our first presenter will provide an overview of the new edition. The second presenter will focus on associate degree programs in gerontology and their unique contribution to higher education. The third will present on undergraduate programs in gerontology explaining how these programs give students an edge in today’s job market. The fourth presenter will address graduate programs in gerontology, describing master’s degree programs and doctoral degree programs in gerontology and aging studies. The fifth presenter will discuss health professions programs including geriatrics curricula for osteopathic medical education, gerontology/geriatrics curricula for health-related programs and the doctor of pharmacy degree programs. Presentations will provide expert recommendations for program development through mapping AGHE’s Gerontology Competencies for Undergraduate and Graduate Education to programs in higher education. Nina Silverstein will serve as discussant.
