AbstractThe widely cited Haken–Kelso–Bunz (HKB) model of motor coordination is used in an enormous range of applications. In this paper, we show analytically that the weakly damped, weakly coupled HKB model of two oscillators depends on only two dimensionless parameters; the ratio of the linear damping coefficient and the linear coupling coefficient and the ratio of the combined nonlinear damping coefficients and the combined nonlinear coupling coefficients. We illustrate our results with a mechanical analogue. We use our analytic results to predict behaviours in arbitrary parameter regimes and show how this led us to explain and extend recent numerical continuation results of the full HKB model. The key finding is that the HKB model contains a significant amount of behaviour in biologically relevant parameter regimes not yet observed in experiments or numerical simulations. This observation has implications for the development of virtual partner interaction and the human dynamic clamp, and potentially for the HKB model itself.

Individuals with family obligations concurrently perform unpaid tasks. In particular, parents often multitask childcare during leisure, leading to low-quality leisure. In this study, we explored leisure quality by measuring pure and contaminated (i.e., leisure combined with childcare) leisure for German parents (lone versus partnered) by considering five diverse factors: demographics, job characteristics, spatial and travel attributes, time use perception/preferences, and gendering of partner interactions. We used the cross-sectional German Time Use Survey 2012/13 data and employed regression analysis. Four important findings of the study are: (a) across groups, women have the highest levels of contaminated leisure, while men have the highest levels of pure leisure; (b) for both lone and partnered respondents, spatial attributes (less dense residential areas), travel attributes (paid work trips, unpaid work trips, number of cars, travel by public transport) negatively determine both pure and contaminated leisure; (c) for partnered respondents, driving is positively associated with contaminated leisure; (d) partner’s time spent on childcare negatively affects women’s pure leisure but positively relates to their contaminated leisure, while partner’s time spent on leisure activities positively affects men’s pure leisure and contaminated leisure.

Some scholars have proposed that people in couples in which at least one person is secure are just as satisfied as people in which both members are secure (i.e., buffering hypothesis). The present investigation tested this hypothesis by examining how relationship satisfaction varies as a function of the attachment security of both dyad members. Secondary analyses were performed using data from two studies (Study 1: 172 couples; Study 2: 194 couples) in which heterosexual dating couples were asked to complete self-reports of their own attachment style and relationship satisfaction. To evaluate the buffering hypothesis, we fit a standard APIM using SEM and added an actor × partner interaction term to our model. Contrary to expectations, our results suggested that secure partners do not “buffer” insecurely attached individuals. Moreover, partner attachment did not explain satisfaction much above and beyond actor effects. This work addresses a gap in the literature with respect to the dynamic interplay of partner pairing, allowing scholars to better understand attachment processes in romantic relationships.

The article views the issue of interaction between a university and an inclusive practices site for social adaptation of disabled young people. The following methods were used: analysis and synthesis, observation, interviews, and polling. The authors come to the conclusion that the results echo numerous works of other researchers. In this regard, it is essential to lay a fundamental basis of the inclusive world, which is possible under the following conditions: building a dialogue; competence of the subjects participating in the problem solving; systemic character of education and training. The research resulted in the designed program of partner interaction. To achieve the best possible results, it implies its stage-by-stage, systemic and comprehensive implementation in educational and cultural-leisure spheres, encompassing various aspects of social rehabilitation (social-environmental, social-psychological, social-pedagogical, socio-cultural, social-communal adaptation).

Grafting has been widely used to improve plant growth and tolerance in crop production, as well as for clarifying systemic mRNA signaling from donor to recipient tissues in organ-to-organ communication. In this study, we investigated graft partner interaction mechanisms of Cucumis sativus (Csa) and Cucurbita moschata (Cmo) using a large-scale endogenous mRNA transport. The results indicated that most mobile transcripts followed an allocation pathway from source to sink. Gene ontology (GO) enrichment and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analysis showed that mRNA mobility functions are universally common and individually specific. Identification of mRNA mobility between distant tissues in heterografts with RT-PCR (reverse transcription PCR), RT-qPCR (reverse transcriptional quantitative real time PCR), and clone sequencing were used to estimate 78.75% of selected mobile transcripts. Integration of bioinformatic analysis and RT-qPCR identification allowed us to hypothesize a scion-to-rootstock-to-scion feedback signal loop of Csa move-down and Cmo move-up mRNAs, where Csa scion move-down mRNAs were involved in carbon fixation and biosynthesis of amino acid pathways, and Cmo root received Csa move-down mRNA and then delivered the corresponding Cmo upward mRNA to scion to improve photosynthesis of cucumber scion. This formed a feedback signal loop of scion-to-rootstock-to scion to explain why pumpkin rootstock enhanced cucumber production in the industry, which was utilized for organ communication and mediates photosynthesis processes in heterograft cucurbit crops.

The activation of p38 mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) through a phosphorylation cascade is the canonical mode of regulation. Here, we report a novel activation mechanism for p38α. We show that Arg49 and Arg149 of p38α are methylated by protein arginine methyltransferase 1 (PRMT1). The non-methylation mutations of Lys49/Lys149 abolish the promotive effect of p38α on erythroid differentiation. MAPK kinase 3 (MKK3) is identified as the major p38α upstream kinase and MKK3-mediated activation of the R49/149K mutant p38α is greatly reduced. This is due to a profound reduction in the interaction of p38α and MKK3. PRMT1 can enhance both the methylation level of p38α and its interaction with MKK3. However, the phosphorylation of p38α by MKK3 is not a prerequisite for methylation. MAPK-activated protein kinase 2 (MAPKAPK2) is identified as a p38α downstream effector in the PRMT1-mediated promotion of erythroid differentiation. The interaction of MAPKAPK2 with p38α is also significantly reduced in the R49/149K mutant. Together, this study unveils a novel regulatory mechanism of p38α activation via protein arginine methylation on R49/R149 by PRMT1, which impacts partner interaction and thus promotes erythroid differentiation. This study provides a new insight into the complexity of the regulation of the versatile p38α signaling and suggests new directions in intervening p38α signaling.

Modern preschool education in Ukraine is experiencing systemic changes in the structure and content of the educational process. The shift of emphasis on the acquisition of knowledge, skills and abilities to the acquisition of the necessary life competencies by the child, ensuring her personal growth puts forward new requirements for ensuring the quality of education of preschool children. However, the quality of preschool education today cannot be imagined without partner interaction between all subjects of the educational process: the administration of the institution, educators, parents, children. An institution of preschool education is an open educational space in which the teaching staff interacts with the families of pupils (as well as with other social institutions) to ensure the needs, interests and full development of each child. the interaction of the institution of preschool education and the families of pupils is an important condition for ensuring the effectiveness of the educational process aimed at creating an atmosphere of psychological comfort, goodwill and mutual understanding for all participants, based on traditional and modern pedagogical research in the field of social and family education, takes into account regional, national and world culture , human and national moral values. The purpose of our article is to characterize the pedagogical partnership of all subjects of the educational process of a preschool education institution as a necessary condition for ensuring the quality of a child's education. It can be stated that a pedagogical partnership between a family and an educational institution in form is the coordination and implementation of the interests of the family and the teaching staff to ensure all conditions for the development and comfort of the child while striving to reach consensus and compromises on the most important issues of upbringing and training a growing personality. The pedagogical partnership of the institution of preschool education and the family is realized in such components as: informational; the entry of the family into the educational space; active pedagogical position of the family in interaction with specialists. Research findings. The process of professional training of teachers of preschool education of a new generation, who, already during the period of study in higher education institutions, created their own pedagogical style based on humanistic values, personal maturity, worldview positions, high-level education, the ability to implement all virtues in practical activity, requires updating and improvement. in cooperation with the parents of the pupils. We consider the pedagogical partnership of an educator as one of the most active subjects of his attitude in the educational process of a preschool education institution, in three dimensions – children, parents, and the teaching staff. The involvement of parents and families in the educational process of a preschool institution confirms the responsibility of each parent of a child for his upbringing, development and training, as well as for preserving her life, strengthening her health, forming a sense of human dignity and a conscious attitude of the child to a healthy lifestyle.
