This study aims at finding out the types of illocutionary act and explaining the meaning of utterances found in Balinese traditional literary work named geguritan entitled ‘Sampik tong Nawang Natah’. The method in collecting the data was observation method by reading the script of geguritan Sampik tong nawang Natah and note taking the lyrics which have the illocutionary act spoken by one of the main characters ‘Eng Tay’. The analysis was done by applying the theory of speech act by Searle (1969) related to the types of illocutionary act. This study found that Eng Tay used assertive, directive, commissive and expressive illocutionary act. This study also shows the misinterpretation of the utterance which exists in the utterances spoken by Eng Tay has made fatal result. Sampik was fault to catch the meaning therefore he couldn’t able to marry Eng Tay. Geguritan Sampik has shown how ambiguities can make problem in communication. This study also shows the   important of pragmatics in relation to understand the speakers meaning, the listeners have to be able to interpret the meaning of utterances based on the context.. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis tindak tutur ilokusi dan menjelaskan tentang makna tuturan yang diujarkan oleh Eng Tay dalam karya sastra tradisional Bali yaitu geguritan berjudul Sampik tong Nawang Natah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode observasi atau metode simak dengan membaca naskah geguritan dan juga mencatat tuturan yang diujarkan oleh karakter utama yaitu Eng Tay. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menerapkan teori speech act oleh Searle (1969) berkaitan dengan tipe tindak tutur ilokusi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Eng Tay mengujarkan tindak tutur ilokusi tipe asertif, direktif, komisif dan ekspresif. Penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bagaimana kesalahan interpretasi terhadap makna tuturan telah mengakibatkan hal yang buruk. Sampik gagal memaknai tuturan Eng Tay sehingga dia tidak bisa menikah dengan Eng Tay. Geguritan Sampik juga menunjukan bagaimana ambiguitas makna memunculkan permasalahan dalam komunikasi. Penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa memahami makna pragmatic sebuah tuturan sangatlah penting, penyimak harus mampu menginterpretasi makna berdasarkan konteks.

There are many types and causes in a violence behavior. One of the action in the domestic field is the violence performed by parents, family, and the close neighborhood on children. Furthermore, the children abuse violates the human rights since as a humankind, children have the rights even from their birthday. The children assault will dangerously cause the fatal result, physically and psychologically on a child. The violences on children are the act against the laws, UN Declaration about Human Rights and UU RI No. 39 Tahun 1999 verse 53. Besides, Islam prohibits the violent acts on children as well.

As the ubiquitous computing environment gets more attention and development, WSN (Wireless Sensor Network) is getting popular as well. Especially, the development of wireless communication and sensor equipment greatly contributes to the popularization of WSN. On the other hand, the safety and security of WSN attracts lots of attention due to such a development and distribution. The DoS (Denial of Service) attack, which gets more sophisticated and broadens its domain into various services fields, may have negative effects on WSN, making it vulnerable to attacks. Since WSN collects information through sensors that are already deployed, it is difficult to have its energy recharged. When WSN is under a DoS attack, sensor nodes consume lots of energy, bringing about a fatal result to the sensor network. In this paper, we propose a method to efficiently defend against DoS attacks by modifying routing protocols in the WSN. This method uses a location based routing protocol that is simple and easy to implement. In the WSN environment where the location-based routing protocol is implemented, this method disperses the DoS attack concentration of traffic by using the traffic deflection technique and blocks it out before arriving at the target destinations. To find out the number of traffic redirection nodes proper for this method, we have performed a few experiments, through which the number of such nodes was optimized.

Utilizing information obtained from the X-ray fluores-cence linear scanning along a single strand of hair in a recent fatal exposure to dimethylmercury, it was possible to determine the circumstances leading to the fatal result. When the Dartmouth chemistry professor displayed symptoms of mercury toxicity, samples of her urine and blood were found to have considerable amounts of mercury by a commercial laboratory. The Dartmouth medical people immediately started treatment with a chelator on January 29, 1997 to remove the mercury, and sent the first samples of blood, urine and hair taken on January 31, 1997 to our laboratory. Our X-ray fluorescence analysis of a single strand of hair shown in Figure 1 shows a single large peak of intake of mercury confirming the information revealed by examination of her laboratory notebook that she had spilled some dimethylmercury about 5 months previous to the date the hair sample was taken. Figure 2 shows two peaks, the peak closest to the scalp end of the hair shows the effect of the large amount of mercury released by the chelator, part of which appeared in the blood. Utilizing the start of the first increase in the blood level as August 14, 1996, and the second as caused by the chelator on January 29, 1997, a count of the number of 2-mm points measured between the two dates gives an accurate growth of the hair during that time. A close examination of Figure 1 indicates that it required five points, each of 2 mm, along the hair to reach the maximum. This indicates a time period of 10 mm of growth equal to 23 days during which a large concentration of methylmercury was entering the blood as evidenced by the hair concentration. The professor died on June 11, 1997.
