In this study we examine the robustness of fit for a multivariate and an autoregressive integrated moving average model to a data sample time series type. The sample is a recurrent actuarial data set for a 10-year horizon. We utilize this methodology to contrast with stochastic models to make projections beyond the data horizon. Our key results suggest that both types of models are useful for making predictions of actuarial liability levels given by PBO Projected Benefit Obligations on and off the horizon of the sample time series. As we have seen in prior research, the use of multivariate models for control and auditing purposes is widely recommended. Fast and reliable statistical estimates are desirable in all cases, whether for audit purposes or to verify and validate miscellaneous actuarial results.

In this work, we investigate a modified population model of non-infected and infected (SI) compartmentsto predict the spread of the infectious disease COVID-19 in Pakistan. For Approximate solution, we use LaplaceAdomian Decomposition Method (LADM). With the help of the said technique, we develop an algorithmto compute series type solution to the proposed problem. We compute few terms approximate solutionscorresponding to different compartment. With the help of MATLAB, we also plot our approximate solutionsfor different compartment graphically.

Abstract Aiming at the series fault arc phenomenon in landscape lighting and the hidden dangers of electrical fires, in this paper, a landscape power supply series fault arc model is constructed and its model is simulated. The simulation results show that when a fault occurs, the arc current becomes smaller (almost zero) due to the increase in the impedance of the lighting circuit; this phenomenon is called the “current zero off” phenomenon of the fault arc current. The current zero off phenomenon of the fault arc current is the main fault feature in the landscape lighting circuit. In this paper, the wavelet algorithm is used to detect the fault current waveform. According to the fault characteristics, by judging whether the modulus maximum value of the wavelet coefficient has periodic characteristics with an interval of 100±15 sampling points, it is analyzed whether a series-type arc fault occurs. The built physical model verifies the feasibility and correctness of the arc detection algorithm. The research results of this paper have certain reference value for the detection and application of fault arc.

In the analysis in this article, we developed a scheme for the computation of a semi-analytical solution to a fuzzy fractional-order heat equation of two dimensions having some external diffusion source term. For this, we applied the Laplace transform along with decomposition techniques and the Adomian polynomial under the Caputo–Fabrizio fractional differential operator. Furthermore, for obtaining a semi-analytical series-type solution, the decomposition of the unknown quantity and its addition established the said solution. The obtained series solution was calculated and approached the approximate solution of the proposed equation. For the validation of our scheme, three different examples have been provided, and the solutions were calculated in fuzzy form. All the three illustrations simulated two different fractional orders between 0 and 1 for the upper and lower portions of the fuzzy solution. The said fractional operator is nonsingular and global due to the presence of the exponential function. It globalizes the dynamical behavior of the said equation, which is guaranteed for all types of fuzzy solution lying between 0 and 1 at any fractional order. The fuzziness is also included in the unknown quantity due to the fuzzy number providing the solution in fuzzy form, having upper and lower branches.

Introduction: Administering systemic lidocaine has been shown to deliver effective analgesia for both cancer-related and non-cancer pain. Adverse effects and toxicity are rare with controlled administration. Objective: To report the results obtained after the indication to manage with IV lidocaine infusion to control neuropathic pain flares in 9 cancer patients. Methodology: Observational, descriptive, case series-type study. A search was conducted in the files of the Pain and Palliative Care Service of the National Cancer Institute - Instituto Nacional de Cancerología - in Bogotá. Patients over 18 years old diagnosed with cancer, who experienced high intensity neuropathic pain and with the cognitive ability to rate their pain in a numerical analogue scale (NAS), without any absolute contraindications for the use of IV lidocaine were included; patients were assessed between September 27 and November 21, 2019. Results: 9 patients experiencing a pain flare-up which was characterized as neuropathic were registered, of which 89 % had some improvement following the administration of an initial lidocaine bolus. After one hour, 60 % reported over 40% improvement in the initial NAS. After 24 hours all patients had experienced some improvement, with a reduction of 46% in the pain scale as compared to the baseline. Conclusions: In this series of cases, the intravenous infusion of lidocaine as an option for the management of neuropathic pain flares seems to reduce pain intensity following the initial bolus administration.

The given article is devoted to presentation of some results regarding existence and uniqueness of solution to a fractional order model that addressing the effect of immigration on the transmission dynamics of a population model. Further, in view of this investigation the effect of immigration have been checked on transmission of recent pandemic known as Corona virus Covid-19. The concerned results have been established by using fixed point theory approach. After investigation qualitative analysis of the considered model, by applying Laplace transform along with decomposition method, we have calculated some series type results for the concerned model. The unknown quantities of each equation have been decomposed into small quantities to calculate each small quantity very easily for the series solution by adding first few terms of the said quantities. Approximate results of some testing data with different cases are given to illustrate the results.

Aim of study: Novel configurations of separation chamber are proposed to resolve the critical issue of separation in agro-industrial equipment.Area of study: Dept. of Mechanical and Biosystems Engineering, Urmia, IranMaterial and methods: Precise and instrumented experimentation has been conducted to calibrate the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) methodology in the modeling and simulating chickpea pod separation. Mechanisms were selected based on optimizing separation efficiency, relative purification and required airflow as a criterion for energy consumption.Main results: Applying a guiding blade and suction fans may potentially increase the separation efficiency while reducing the relative purification and required airflow. The highest separation efficiency (95%), the lowest required airflow (545 m³/h) and the lowest pressure drop (16.3 Pa), were obtained by such configuration. Furthermore, the highest relative purification of 90% was achieved when the mechanism was free of blade and fans.Research highlights: To integrate the advantages of the above-mentioned configurations, a series-type assembling them is proposed to preserve the separation efficiency and relative purification at the highest level, meanwhile reducing the required airflow. Also, 15% enhancement in the separation efficiency and 302.8 m³/h reductions in the airflow were found as a crucial finding. The high correlation of experimental and theoretical CFD results is the key point to motivate the researchers for extension of similar case projects.

This study aims to describe the application of e-learning in improving students' understanding of earthquake disaster preparedness. This study used a quasi-experimental design with an equivalent time series type. The research sample was taken of grade 10 Senior High School 5 Banda Aceh with a non-probability sampling method. The stage of this research is that students are given a pre-test to see their initial level of understanding before being given a treatment, then students are given a treatment in the form of earthquake preparedness learning through the e learning model. the understanding of students after participating in learning with the e learning model has increased by 14.44 %. As for the n-gain value is 0.54 (moderate criteria), the N-gain value indicates that learning with the e-learning model is effective in improving students' understanding of earthquake disaster preparedness. based on research data analysis it was seen that students' understanding of earthquake disaster preparedness had increased compared to before. Meanwhile, related to the effectiveness of learning, based on data analysis, it was found that learning earthquake disaster preparedness using the e-learning model was effective in increasing students' understanding of earthquake disaster preparedness.
