Bitterness is an aversive cue elicited by thousands of chemically diverse compounds. Bitter taste may prevent consumption of foods and jeopardize drug compliance. The G protein-coupled receptors for bitter taste, TAS2Rs, have species-dependent number of subtypes and varying expression levels in extraoral tissues. Molecular recognition by TAS2R subtypes is physiologically important, and presents a challenging case study for ligand-receptor matchmaking. Inspired by hybrid recommendation systems, we developed a new set of similarity features, and created the BitterMatch algorithm that predicts associations of ligands to receptors with ~80% precision at ~50% recall. Associations for several compounds were tested in-vitro, resulting in 80% precision and 42% recall. The encouraging performance was achieved by including receptor properties and integrating experimentally determined ligand-receptor associations with chemical ligand-to-ligand similarities. BitterMatch can predict off-targets for bitter drugs, identify novel ligands and guide flavor design. Inclusion of neighbor-informed similarities improves as experimental data mounts, and provides a generalizable framework for molecule-biotarget matching.

Abstract With the rapid development of the Internet industry, hundreds of millions of online resources are also booming. In the information space with huge and complex resources, it is necessary to quickly help users find the resources they are interested in and save users time. At this stage, the content industry’s application of the recommendation model in the content distribution process has become the mainstream. The content recommendation model provides users with a highly efficient and highly satisfying reading experience, and solves the problem of information redundancy to a certain extent. Knowledge tag personalized dynamic recommendation technology is currently widely used in the field of e-commerce. The purpose of this article is to study the optimization of the knowledge tag personalized dynamic recommendation system based on artificial intelligence algorithms. This article first proposes a hybrid recommendation algorithm based on the comparison between content-based filtering and collaborative filtering algorithms. It mainly introduces user browsing behavior analysis and design, KNN-based item similarity algorithm design, and hybrid recommendation algorithm implementation. Finally, through algorithm simulation experiments, the effectiveness of the algorithm in this paper is verified, and the accuracy of the recommendation has been improved.

Big data has been developed for nearly a decade, and the information data on the network is exploding. Facing the complex and massive data, it is difficult for people to get the demanded information quickly, and the recommendation algorithm with its characteristics becomes one of the important methods to solve the massive data overload problem at this stage. In particular, the rise of the e-commerce industry has promoted the development of recommendation algorithms. Traditional, single recommendation algorithms often have problems such as cold start, data sparsity, and long-tail items. The hybrid recommendation algorithms at this stage can effectively avoid some of the drawbacks caused by a single algorithm. To address the current problems, this paper makes up for the shortcomings of a single collaborative model by proposing a hybrid recommendation algorithm based on deep learning IA-CN. The algorithm first uses an integrated strategy to fuse user-based and item-based collaborative filtering algorithms to generalize and classify the output results. Then deeper and more abstract nonlinear interactions between users and items are captured by improved deep learning techniques. Finally, we designed experiments to validate the algorithm. The experiments are compared with the benchmark algorithm on (Amazon item rating dataset), and the results show that the IA-CN algorithm proposed in this paper has better performance in rating prediction on the test dataset.

As India is moving fast towards digital economy, E-commerce industry has been on rise. Many platforms such as Amazon and Flipkart provide their customers with a shopping experience better than actual physical stores. Several E-commerce websites use different methods to improve the customer engagement and revenue. One such technique is the use of personalized recommendation systems which uses customer’s data like interests, purchase history, ratings to suggest new products which they may like. Recommendation systems are used by E-commerce websites to suggest new products to their users. The products can be suggested based on the top merchants on the website, based on the interests of the user or based the past purchase pattern of the customer. Recommender systems are machine learning based systems that help users discover new products. Due to the recent pandemic situation of 2020 and 2021, many of the local retail stores have been trying to shift their business to online platforms such as dedicated websites or social media. The proposed methodology based on Machine Learning aims to enable local online retail business owners to enhance their customer engagement and revenue by providing users with personalized recommendations using past data using methods such as Collaborative Filtering and Content-Based Filtering.

Abstract: Recommending video games can be trickier than movies. When it comes to selecting a video game, many factors are involved such as its genre, platform on which it’s played, duration of main and side quests, and more. However, recommending games based on just these features won’t suffice as a person who, for example, enjoys a certain genre of game can equally enjoy a vastly different genre. Therefore, a scoring mechanism is required which takes into account both, features of a game (contentbased filtering) and also studies the buying patterns of people playing a particular game (collaborative filtering). In this paper I have proposed a way to take into account both content-based and collaborative filtering into the final recommendation. I have used cosine similarity to quantify the similarity between the features of games. Along with this, I have employed a Deep fullyconnected AutoEncoder (DAE) to generalize the implicit data representation of an user’s buying patterns. Finally, I present a novel approach to combine the scores of these filtering techniques in such a way that it gives equal weightage to both. In other words, they both have equal influence over the final list of the top 10 games recommended to the user. Keywords: Hybrid Recommender, Collaborative filtering, Content-based filtering, Cosine similarity, AutoEncoder.
