A perfect connection between the column and the fan is that which ensures an air inlet in the fan, evenly distributed, over the entire surface of the suction mouth and an air outlet from the fan outlet made in a way that allows the full use of developed pressure. For both suction and exhaust, fans must be equipped with a device/diffuser. When the fan discharges freely into the atmosphere without any connection, a loss equivalent to 50% of the average dynamic pressure at the discharge port occurs. If the fan discharges into a speaker, the loss depends on its angle. At a peak angle of 30° corresponds to a loss of ≈ 25% of the average dynamic pressure in the discharge mouth, and to reduce air vortices the speakers must be built at an angle of inclination to vertical or horizontal between 12- 15°, in order to reduce the aerodynamic resistances. The paper will present the speed field distribution of an axial fan located on a circular duct, provided on the air discharge side with a diffuser with a length of 1.5 m, at an angle of inclination to the vertical or horizontal of 12°.

Summary: The aim of the study was to determine the dependence of the volume of air discharge from the pleural cavity on the choice of surgical treatment in patients with penetrating chest injuries. Materials and methods. Of the 39 observations, video-assisted thoracoscopy (VATS) was performed in 24 patients due to existing hemothorax. Results and their discussion. Among patients with penetrating chest injuries and early complications in the form of isolated pneumothorax on the first day, VATS was performed in three cases, due to increased air discharge from the pleural cavity. On the second and third day, 3 and 1 patient needed PBX, respectively. The article presents the experience of using a Coriolis flowmeter to objectify the diagnosis of lung injuries in victims with gunshot wounds penetrating the chest. Depending on the speed and volume of air discharge from the pleural cavity, the dynamics can be determined by the tactics of treatment. Conclusions: 1. Observation in the dynamics of the rate (

This paper demonstrated the effects and influencing factors in degrading aniline by gaseous streamer corona plasma along water surface under different discharging gas atmospheres. For aniline with an initial concentration of 100 mg l −1 , the degradation was fastest when the reactor was not ventilated, and the degradation rate is 98.5% under 7.5 min treatment. While the degradation was slowest when Ar was ventilated, the degradation rate is 98.6% after treatment for 60 min. Some active particles were detected using a multi-channel fibre-optic spectrometer during the discharge, such as Ar, OH, N 2 , N 2 + and N. In particular, NO was detected during air discharge. The NO and N 2 + could produce NO 3 − ; then generated nitric acid would affect the pH value of the solution. The intermediate product by N 2 discharge is nitrophenol, and nitrophenol would be converted to p -benzoquinone. The O 2 discharge could produce an intermediate product of aminophenol. The intermediate products in Ar discharge were in small amounts and the final mineralization effect was the best.

AbstractGinseng (Panax ginseng Meyer) sprouts are grown to whole plants in 20 to 25 days in a soil-less cultivation system and then used as a medicinal vegetable. As a nitrogen (N) source, plasma-treated water (PTW) has been used to enhance the seed germination and seedling growth of many crops but has not been investigated for its effects on ginseng sprouts. This study established an in-situ system for N-containing water production using plasma technology and evaluated the effects of the PTW on ginseng growth and its bioactive phytochemicals compared with those of an untreated control. The PTW became weakly acidic 30 min after the air discharge at the electrodes because of the formation of nitrate (NO3‒) and nitrite (NO2‒) in the water. The NO3‒ and NO2‒ in the PTW, together with potassium ions (K+), enhanced the shoot biomass of the ginseng sprout by 26.5% compared to the untreated control. The ginseng sprout grown in the PTW had accumulated more free amino acids and ginsenosides in the sprout at 25 days after planting. Therefore, PTW can be used as a liquid N fertilizer for P. ginseng growth and phytochemical accumulation during sprouting under aeroponic conditions.
