Ban Ta Po is located in the Ban Kao Subdistrict within an area that the Thai-Danish Expedition uncovered the famous Neolithic Ban Kao Culture in 1960. The two-season excavation in 2018 and 2020 discovered 17 burials dated to the Bronze age. The analysis of these individuals that were buried there were mostly infants and children. Two children appeared with some disease lesions on bones like porous on the cranium, a carious tooth related to the localized enamel hypoplasia, and the femoral bowing. All possibly indicate metabolic bone disease caused by a nutrition deficiency.

Skin diseases are commonly observed day by day due to altered life style, improper hygiene, mental stress, over eating and nutrition deficiency. All the skin diseases in Ayurveda have been discussed under the broad heading of Kushtha, which are further divided into Mahakushtha and Kshudra Kushtha. Kapala kushtha is a type of Mahakushtha with symptoms like blackish red skin patches, which resembles pot sherds, dry, rough, thin, wide, of uneven edges with severe pain and less itching. It can be compared to scleroderma; the first specific clinical symptoms to suggest a diagnosis of scleroderma is skin thickening. Later the skin becomes hard, shiny, leathery and hardens like a stone. This article highlights a case study of Kapala Kushtha treated with the Ayurvedic principles in particular Shodhana Chikitsa; the therapy which expels out the morbid Doshas from the body. Kushtha is difficult to cure, so it is called ‘Dushchikitsya’ but by the application of Shodhana therapy, cure of the diseases becomes easier due to removal of the root cause. Here is a case study of 67yrs/female having signs and symptoms of Kapala kushtha. The patient was admitted and managed with Shodhana Chikitsa (purification) which included Raktashodhak Ksheer Basti (medicated enema) and Virechan (purgation) followed by Shaman Chikitsa (pacification) and the results with rationality have been depicted in this article.

Oxidative stress (OS) in simple words is defined as a state of imbalance between antioxidant and pro-oxidants defenses. The purpose of this article is to find out the connection of oxidative stress and free radical species with different aspects of human health. Owing to its harmful effects on proteins and nucleic acids, oxidative stress causes chronic diseases such as cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases, diabetes and cancer. It highlights the impacts of antioxidants and pro-oxidants particularly on fertility and infertility. It also focuses on the adverse effects caused by the long-term exposure to pro-oxidant factors leading to structural defects of mitochondrial DNA. As modern life style consists of more reliance on the processed foods and lack of physical activity, a nutrition deficiency, which is common in the present lifestyle, is also one of the reasons for oxidative stress to cause inflammation. However, this review also focuses on how diet affects and triggers inflammation. Redox mechanism with potential threats to health of mankind is discussed, how mere stress can provoke biological stress responses leading to development of disease or metabolic errors. Methods for reduction of oxidative stress are discussed in this review. It also highlights mitochondria as an aging factor as many ROS, particularly mitochondria ROS contribute directly to aging in human body. We will be discussing the recent findings in the oxidative stress field and its negative and positive impacts on human health.

<p>This study examines whether greater women’s household bargaining power is associated with the improvement in children’s welfare in Ogun State, Nigeria. Using data from 320 farm households with a Logit regression model, the study revealed that 31.86 % of children under-five years of age were stunted, 32 % were underweight and 16.2 % were wasted. Children growing up healthy were 62 %, implying that one – third of under-five children in the study area still experience nutrition deficiency. About 3.33 % and 1.05 % children simultaneously experienced stunting and wasting together, which perhaps suggests a harsh deprivation environment. In addition, 63.33 % of women in the study area had low bargaining power implying that they lack control over important decisions in their households. Women who enjoy decision-making power in their households, particularly with large purchasing power, are associated with having children with better height-for-age, mass-for-age, and mass-for-height ratios. Women’s inequality as relates to intra-household bargaining power negatively affects children’s welfare and leads to chronic malnutrition. As a policy recommendation, it is therefore, important to enhance women’s status, which, with time will lead to more investment in their children’s education, health, and overall welfare.</p>

Inceptisols is known as one of the less-fertile dryland soil order that is widely used for corn cultivation. Proper type and dose of fertilizer can overcome the plant nutrition deficiency and increase corn yield in Inceptisols. This research aimed to examine whether the application of Urea with different doses, N-fixing biofertilizer and ameliorant can affect pH, Organic C, N-fixing bacteria population, and corn yield. The research was conducted at Balai Pengembangan Benih Hortikultura dan Aneka Tanaman Pasir Banteng, Jatinangor from January to June 2020. This research used Randomized Block Design with 16 treatments. The result showed that application of Urea with different doses, N-fixing biofertilizer and ameliorant significantly affected N-fixing bacteria population and corncob weight. 40% dose of Urea and 2 ton ha-1 ameliorant gave the best increase in corncob weight per plant of Bisi-2 by 345 g.

Mukhapaka is one of the common diseases in day today practice which disturbs childrens ability to eat, drink, talk and lack of sleep. This disease is relentlessly increasing among the children in India, with an overall incidence of 25%.Vitamins deficiency, nutrition deficiency, iron deficiency, is very common in children and one of the causative factors of Mukhapaka, so patients of Mukhapaka are in need of a cost effective, palatable and easily available medicine. Therefore, NyagrodhaTwakchoorna, Elachoorna with Madhu, has been selected.These drugs have an action of anti-inflammatory, haemostatic, antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, improves wound healing and provides cooling effect by their Pitta samaka property. These can be administered both internally and externally.Currently the treatment for the Mukhapka being very limited, the present clinical study was designed to evaluate the efficacy of Nyagrodhatwakchoorna and Elachoorna with Madhu for Pralepa in Mukhapaka.
