Abstract Bead-on-plate submerged arc welding was conducted on St37 steel by manufactured Cr, Mo, and Cr-Mo active basic fluxes produced via the unfused bonded method. The base metal heat-affected zone and weld metal (WM) microstructures were identified and characterized by optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. Then, the ferrite morphologies volume fraction of WMs were measured. Moreover, the chemical analysis of slag and inclusions was evaluated by point scan energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and extensively discussed. Inclusions number density and size and their effects on the formation of AF were also elaborated. Then, the WMs’ longitudinal tensile strength and Vickers hardness were measured. Finally, the Charpy V-notch test was conducted to determine the impact toughness; the fracture surfaces were investigated, as well.

This paper investigates the effect of sintered fly ash lightweight aggregate as coarse aggregate substitution on the mechanical properties of concrete. The lightweight aggregate (LWA) was produced using the cold bonded method and then sintered at a temperature of 900°C. An alkaliactivated system was applied as a binding agent of the LWA. Fly ash was used as precursor while sodium hydroxide and sodium silicate were employed as alkali activators. Three variations of the LWA dosage were performed, which were 0%, 50%, and 100 % of the volume of coarse aggregate in the concrete mixture. The mechanical properties of the concrete investigated in this research are the compressive strength and split tensile strength. The result showed that the mechanical properties of the concrete slightly decrease along with the increased dosage of the LWA in the mixture. However, employing sintered fly ash the LWA is proven as an effective solution in reducing the concrete density without sacrificing its strength.

Interfacial bond strength is one of the vital mechanical properties of adhesives. The cross-bonded method, which is widely used to measure the interfacial tensile and shear bond strength simultaneously, has attracted extensive attention. An improved cross-bonded method is presented in this study in order to promote the accuracy and reliability of the testing results. The ergo 9900 glue, E-7 glue, AB glue and 502 glue were measured in this study. Compared with the original method, the results of the improved cross-bonded method show that: (i) the coefficient of variation of the interfacial bond strength decreased significantly; (ii) the interfacial shear bond strength of the adhesives is closer to its true value.

La 0.8 Sr 0.2 MnO 3 (LSMO)/ Zn composites were prepared by bonded method. The phase structure, electrical transport and low-field magnetoresistance (LFMR) characteristics have been investigated. The binder segregated mostly at the grain boundaries. The bonded composites exhibited enhanced LFMR, which was attributed to the enhanced intergrain spin-polarized tunneling behavior.

Slicing of silicon, quartz crystal and other hard brittle materials mainly use dissociated abrasive multi-wire saw slicing technology, which exists some shortcomings, such as severe environmental pollution, lower cutting efficiency, etc. So it is bound to be replaced by fixed abrasive diamond wire saw in the future. At present, generally, the manufacturing technology of fixed diamond wire saw includes electroplating method and resin bonded method. Compared with electroplating diamond wire saw, the resin bonded diamond wire saw has obvious advantages, such as simpler production technique, lower cost, higher cutting efficiency, less environmental pollution, etc. In this paper, the polyurethane was chosen as matrix resin of resin bonded, and phenolic resin was chosen as curing agent, the preparation technology of thermosetting resin bonded diamond wire saw, is researched in this paper. Firstly, the effects of various compositions on resin bonded, are researched, then the optimal fomula and the manufacturing technology are determined
