This study discusses the eRomLex Project, aiming at elaborating a comparative digital edition of the six bilingual Slavonic–Romanian lexicons from the 17th century, based on Pamvo Berynda’s Slavonic–Ruthenian Lexicon from the same age. Following a brief presentation of the general context of these lexicons’ appearance and the current research on this topic, we will discuss the project’s aims, pointing to the benefits of a comparative digital edition. In the second section, we will comparatively examine a few strategies used by the Romanian compilers to deal with the Slavonic–Ruthenian source, both at the level of lexical inventory and definitions. The analysed examples are currently available on the project’s digital platform. Our comparative analysis shows that the information included in the Slavonic–Romanian lexicons is closed quantitively to the source, except for Lex.Mard. Romanian scribes did not use all the material provided by the source, yet they added new (lists of) entries. Although most definitions are shorter than the ones in the source, there are many instances where additional information of various types was provided. The comparative digital edition, facilitated by the project’s platform, will provide valuable insights into the language, mentality and education of the period in which Romanian lexicons appeared.

In this session, in many ways a follow-up to last year's Atla session "Proposing a TEI-Encoding Project for the Wesley Works," we introduced participants to the principles of text encoding with XML/TEI. While last year we discussed the rationale for using TEI to create a digital version of the Bicentennial Edition of the Works of John Wesley, as well as our plans for orchestrating such a large-scale project, this year we will offer introductory, hands-on training in TEI. Workshop participants will begin with the basics of text encoding common to any TEI project, then move on to a description of how the Wesley Works Digital Edition, specifically, has adopted and adapted these principles to meet its goal of creating a digital version of the Bicentennial Edition of the Works of John Wesley.

This work focuses on the debate related to the feminisation of language and, more particularly, to the inclusive French generated by the views expressed by specialists in the Le Figaro newspaper at the Chronique de langage (CDL) L’actu des mots. Its main aim consists of: (1) present, contextualise and justify the treatment of this social and linguistic phenomenon in a particular journalistic gender such as the columns on language (CSL) published in the digital edition of that newspaper; and (2) assess the feed-back that this type of multi-directional communication produces on the basis of the analysis of the comments issued both internally on the CSL and on social media, more specifically on Twitter. We are interested in investigating, on the one hand, this topical linguistic issue which links the notion of gender with the position of women in a changing patriarchal society and, on the other hand, the nature of these language-centred media spaces, in order to assess their normative power and ideological transmission, reinforced by the web’s own tools.

When social and political upheavals are testing the art of puppetry, education, and most importantly, the relationship between theater and education, the digital edition of this volume aspires to present to the general public its "today". Greek puppetry, which is very different from the stereotypical image that circulates in much of the educational world. The volume aspires to capture, as much as possible, the dynamics of its existence and its history, a story that convinces that no matter how much it was underestimated as a theatrical genre, no matter how many exclusions it accepted, it is here and continues to entertain and "erode"» with its special characteristics both the fields of education and those of other arts

Abstract The paper appeals for a re-examination of the digital scholarly edition of letters informed by a ‘theory of practice’ appropriate to a project environment. The genre letter seen as a means of communication and the use of digital media tools are emphasised, the use of which in no way precludes keeping with established scholarly critical edition standards. The ‘behind the scenes’ of the project The Digital Edition of August Wilhelm Schlegel’s Correspondence is discussed, as are, in a more universal sense, Bourdieu’s critical ideas of theory and practice as applied to digital letter edition projects and their interests.

Studying the harmonic structures of a musical work and exploring its origins is one of the main tasks of traditional musicology. Since the advent of computer technologies, new tools for musical analysis emerged to gain new perspectives on well-known compositions. In the field of digital musical editions, the markup language MEI (Music Encoding Initiative) plays a prominent role for encoding musical notation with a musicological demand. This paper presents the current state of the project "Digital Music Analysis with MEI using the Example of Anton Bruckner's Compositional Studies". Its aim is to encode the "Kitzler Study book" written by Bruckner and to present it in a digital Edition. Also, the project explores the capability of MEI for an automatic or half-automatic harmonic analysis.
