In this paper, we show how to construct hybrid quantum-classical codes from subsystem codes by encoding the classical information into the gauge qudits using gauge fixing. Unlike previous work on hybrid codes, we allow for two separate minimum distances, one for the quantum information and one for the classical information. We give an explicit construction of hybrid codes from two classical linear codes using Bacon–Casaccino subsystem codes, as well as several new examples of good hybrid code.

We investigate the Abelian dual Meissner effect due to violation of the non-Abelian Bianchi identity in SU (3) gauge thoery without gauge fixing. To decide the vacuum type, we evaluate the Ginzburg-Landau parameter from the spatial distribution of color electric fields and squared monopole density. Although the study is done only on 24 (40)3 × 4 lattice at β = 5.6, the SU (3) vacuum is found to be of the type 1 near the border of type 1 and type 2. We also confirm the dual Ampere’s law directly.

We present results of SU(3) Monte-Carlo studies of a new color confinement scheme proposed recently due to Abelian-like monopoles of the Dirac type corresponding in the continuum limit to violation of the non-Abelian Bianchi identities (VNABI). The simulations are done without any additional gauge-fixing smoothing the vacuum. We get for the first time, in pure SU(3) simulations, (1) the perfect Abelian dominance with respect to the static potentials on (12 ~ 16)4 at β = 5.6 − 5.8 using the multilevel method, (2) the monopole as well as Abelian dominances with respect to the static potentials by evaluating the Polyakov-loop correlators on 243 × 4 at β = 5.6. The Abelian photon part gives zero string tension. The new SU(3) as well as the previous SU(2) results are consistent with the new Abelian picture of color confinement that each one of eight colored electric flux is squeezed by the corresponding colored Abelian-like monopole of the Dirac type corresponding to VNABI.

In the general relativity theory, we find Klein-Gordon wave functions in Robertson-Walker and Schwarzschild space-time. Specially, this article is that Klein-Gordon wave equations is treated by gauge fixing equations in Robertson-Walker space-time and Schwarzschild space-time.

In this paper, we derived electromagnetic field transformations and electromagnetic field equations of Maxwell in Rindler space-time in the context of general theory of relativity. We then treat the Lorentz gauge transformation and the Lorentz gauge fixing condition in Rindler space-time and obtained the transformation of differential operation, the electromagnetic 4-vector potential and the field. In addition, charge density and the electric current density in Rindler spacetimeare derived. To view the invariance of the gauge transformation, gauge theory is applied to Maxwell equations in Rindler space-time. In Appendix A, we show that the electromagnetic wave function cannot exist in Rindler space-time. An important point we assert in this article is the uniqueness of the accelerated frame. It is because, in the accelerated frame, one can treat electromagnetic field equations.

Abstract We formally prove the existence of a quantization procedure that makes the path integral of a general diffeomorphism-invariant theory of gravity, with fixed total spacetime volume, equivalent to that of its unimodular version. This is achieved by means of a partial gauge fixing of diffeomorphisms together with a careful definition of the unimodular measure. The statement holds also in the presence of matter. As an explicit example, we consider scalar-tensor theories and compute the corresponding logarithmic divergences in both settings. In spite of significant differences in the coupling of the scalar field to gravity, the results are equivalent for all couplings, including non-minimal ones.

Abstract We report consistent results for Γ(h → γγ), $$ \sigma \left(\mathcal{GG}\to h\right) $$ σ GG → h and $$ \Gamma \left(h\to \mathcal{GG}\right) $$ Γ h → GG in the Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT) perturbing the SM by corrections $$ \mathcal{O}\left({\overline{\upsilon}}_T^2/16{\pi}^2{\Lambda}^2\right) $$ O υ ¯ T 2 / 16 π 2 Λ 2 in the Background Field Method (BFM) approach to gauge fixing, and to $$ \mathcal{O}\left({\overline{\upsilon}}_T^4/{\Lambda}^4\right) $$ O υ ¯ T 4 / Λ 4 using the geometric formulation of the SMEFT. We combine and modify recent results in the literature into a complete set of consistent results, uniforming conventions, and simultaneously complete the one loop results for these processes in the BFM. We emphasize calculational scheme dependence present across these processes, and how the operator and loop expansions are not independent beyond leading order. We illustrate several cross checks of consistency in the results.

Abstract It has been noticed that for a large class of cosmological models, the gauge fixing of the time-reparametrization invariance does not completely fix the clock. Instead, the system enjoys a surprising residual Noether symmetry under a Möbius reparametrization of the proper time, which maps gauge-inequivalent solutions to the Friedmann equations onto each other. In this work, we provide a unified treatment of this hidden conformal symmetry and its realization in the homogeneous and isotropic sector of the Einstein-Scalar-Λ system. We consider the flat Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) model, the (A)dS cosmology and provide a first treatment of the model with spatial constant curvature. We derive the general condition relating the choice of proper time and the conformal weight of the scale factor, and give a detailed analysis of the conserved Noether charges generating this physical symmetry. Our approach allows us to identify new realizations of this symmetry while recovering previous results in a unified manner. We also present the general mapping onto the conformal particle and discuss the solution-generating nature of the transformations beyond the Möbius symmetry. Finally, we show that, at least in a restricted context, this hidden conformal symmetry is intimately related to the Kodama charges of spherically symmetric gravity. This new connection suggests that the Möbius invariance of cosmology is only the corner of a larger symmetry structure which could be relevant beyond cosmological models.
