Peranan Membaca Alkitab Terhadap Kecerdasan Spiritual Anak Kristen

The role of reading the Bible is indispensable because the Bible has changed the lives of evil people, people are willing to die for the Bible, the Bible is God's most accurate book, the Bible contains messages of freedom that transform human lives, and connects readers with the person of Jesus Christ as a person. the most important thing in history, that can be trusted by mankind or Christian children so that their spirituality will grow well. This study aims to explain the role of reading the Bible on children's Christian spiritual intelligence. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method, with the approach of observation and interview methods as primary sources; and documentation as a secondary source. The result of this research is that formal Christian educators actually have to play a proactive role in encouraging Christian children to be more faithful in reading the Bible because the essence of the Bible is able to grow their spiritual intelligence. So Christian children are increasingly motivated to read, listen to God's words, and be active in fellowship with Jesus Christ, so their spirituality will grow better. AbstrakPeranan membaca Alkitab sangat diperlukan karena Alkitab telah mengubah kehidupan manusia yang jahat, orang-orang bersedia mati untuk Alkitab, Alkitab merupakan buku Allah yang paling akurat, Alkitab berisi tentang pesan kebebasan yang mengubahkan hidup manusia, dan menghubungkan para pembaca dengan pribadi Yesus Kristus sebagai sosok terpenting di sepanjang sejarah, yang dapat dipercayai umat manusia atau anak-anak Kristen supaya spiritualitasnya bertumbuh baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan peranan membaca Alkitab terhadap kecerdasan spiritual anak Kristen. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif, dengan pendekatan metode observasi dan wawancara sebagai sumber primer; serta dokumentasi sebagai sumber sekunder. Hasil penelitian ini adalah sesungguhnya pendidik Kristen formal harus berperan proaktif untuk memberi semangat kepada anak-anak Kristen agar semakin setia dalam membaca Alkitab karena esensi dari Alkitab mampu menumbuhkan kecerdasan spiritualnya. Jadi anak-anak Kristen semakin diberikan motivasi untuk membaca, mendengarkan firman Tuhan, dan giat dalam persekutuan dengan Yesus Kristus, maka spiritualnya akan semakin bertumbuh baik.

A Guide to Corruption for Naive Idealists

This chapter highlights corruption. Maintaining the integrity of government is integral to societal functioning. But what causes governments to become corrupt? It is not a matter of simple morality; it is not the case that evil people take bribes and good people do not take bribes. Nor is it the case that ethical standards are high in the United States and Europe, and low in the rest of the world. Every country has its own rituals and its own style of handling informal payments. One method is to invoke chivalry and the need for the strong to protect the weak. These exchanges can represent a fundamental alliance and relationship of long-term mutual assistance. Often corruption occurs while maintaining all outward appearances of complete professionalism. The chapter then explains how bribery works, an activity which requires skill and sophistication.

Stigmatisation of Indigenous Knowledge: The Case of Night-running in Western Kenya

Night-runners are perceived as faceless, evil people who run naked in the darkness, thereby wreaking havoc in otherwise peaceful rural villages. This paper investigates the origins of night-running, the mysteries associated with it, the benefits and harms of night-running, and the impact of indigenous knowledge (IK) stigmatisation on this practice. Indigenous knowledge is the body of unique beliefs, attitudes, skills, and practices possessed by communities in a specific geographic setting. In spite of its potential value, scholars point out that indigenous knowledge has been neglected, vindicated, stigmatised, legalised, and suppressed among the majority of the world’s communities due to ignorance and arrogance. Night-running is one of the indigenous practices in Western Kenya that has been stigmatised. Given this, little is actually known about night-running. This study was designed as an ethnographic research through which the views of the residents of Homa Bay County on night-running were investigated, collated, and interpreted as a means of demystifying this indigenous practice. The findings of the study indicate that night-running is intrinsically a harmless practice. However, evil persons such as witches sometimes masquerade as night-runners and can hurt or kill people.

Challenging the New Order’s Communist Figures: A New Historicism Study on Penjagal Itu Telah Mati

This paper discusses about the images of communist figures in “post-suharto 1965 fictions”. Images of communist figures have been acknowledged by Indonesian people through many books and films produced under Suharto regime as evil people and atheist. In other words, they are antagonists of the nation who deserve to be jailed and killed. This paper unpacks the stereotypical infamous images of communist or alleged-communist figures by showing opposite images of the figures portrayed in “Post-Suharto 1965 fictions”. The end of Suharto regime which brings freedom of speech enables some victims of post-1965 tragedy (mostly ex-political prisoners) and their descendants to do such a counter-culture. They write books to provide other version of historiography. One of the authors is Gunawan Budi Susanto who wrote “1965 short story” collection entitled “Penjagal Itu Telah Mati” (The Slaughterer Has Died) (2015). From these current publications, we find other images of communist or alleged-communist figures; most of them are depicted as good citizens. The findings show that the images of communist figures are not as stable and absolute as what Suharto regime had constructed, yet the images remain contested in the unfinished and unstable historiography.

PENERAPAN KONSELING RATIONAL EMOTIVE BEHAVIORAL DALAM MENGURANGI TINGKAT IRRATIONAL BELIEF KAUM LESBIAN

Most lesbians are irrational belief in the opposite sex. They consider men to be untrustworthy and evil people. This can be obtained from a bad experience in the family, in which the father is less pleasant towards the mother and from a hostile environment. This condition fosters irrational belief of lesbians towards men. Based on these facts, this study aims to reveal how the application of rational emotive behavioral counseling in reducing the level of irrational belief of lesbians. The research method used is action research. The treatment consists of two cycles, in which one cycle consists of four stages, namely (1) planning, (2) implementation, (3) observation, (4) reflection. Especially at the implementation stage of the counseling steps used are; (a). Accessing the client's self talk, (b). Determining the client's underlying belief, (c) Agreeing on more rational belief, (d) Performing rational emotive imagery, (e). Assigning homework, (f) Positive consequence, and (g) Negative consequence. Respondents in this study amounted to 3 people who indicated lesbians. Respondents were taken based on descriptive random sampling. The results of the analysis of research data revealed that rational emotive behavioral counseling can reduce the level of irrational belief of lesbians. Based on these empirical data it can be concluded that counselors can use rational emotive behavioral counseling in reducing the level of irrational belief of lesbians, so that it is expected to reduce lesbian behavior in society.

RESPONSIBILITY OF MICKEY HALLER IN THE LINCOLN LAWYER MOVIE

The aims of this research is to understand the responsibility of Mickey Haller as a lawyer. By using descriptive qualitative method, the writer will describes all things in the movie itself. The data were collected from some sources, such as books in library of Senayan ,Library of STIBA Nusa Mandiri, Google books and Website. The writer found the result of analysis about an interesting character from Mickey Haller as main character. Mickey Haller is a lawyer with high responsibility in his work. It makes him never give up on solving the case at hand. Mickey Haller is known as a lawyer who can acquit his clients from criminal penalties although most of his clients are criminal such bikers, con artist, drunk drivers, and drug dealers. Besides Mickey Haller was responsible for the work, he is also responsible for the safety of his family. He protects his children and ex-wife of the evil people who do not like him.
