When assessing the thermal condition of the building and the parameters of the microclimate of the premises, the main factors influencing its thermal inertia were identified and taken into account. An assessment of the influence of the resistance of enclosing structures on the efficiency of the heating system, taking into account the influence of external and internal climatic parameters in the dynamic mode. It is shown that the time factor and depth of regulation, as well as the outdoor air temperature are important factors. Researches are carried out and the expediency of introduction of a duty mode of heating of buildings of HIGH SCHOOLS is estimated. The given algorithm of control of process of heat release (especially in the presence of a point of "breaking" - average (them) on the schedule) in addition increases accuracy of the decisions of the specified problems and reduces a temperature deviation by 4 ÷ 6 ° C in comparison with usual ("linear") dependence that allows to correct more precisely release of the heat carrier in system of heating of a structure at introduction of a standby mode. It was found that it took about 6.5 hours to achieve normalized air temperature and space heating in the forced (after a long stay on duty). It is shown that the heat consumption of the system in such conditions of its operation compared to the nominal mode increased by 25 % (taking into account the limit value of the specific allowance from table H1 DBN B.2.5-67: 2013 "Heating, ventilation and air conditioning"), but for the entire period the action of the standby mode savings amounted to about 6-8% of energy consumed. Taking into account the design of the outer walls of the object of study, the temperature graph of the heating system was adjusted taking into account the value of the internal heat capacity of the building when implementing on-duty heating, which, according to preliminary estimates, will: improve comfort in the room; to reduce heating costs of the educational and administrative building of NULES of Ukraine by 10-12 % for the heating period. Key words: microclimate, internal heat capacity of a building, standby mode, heating system, heat loss

The question of the relevance of reducing energy consumption is considered. An assumption is made that in cases where indoor illuminated switches are used that control a group of lamps, currents of the order of microamperes flow in the lighting network in the switched-off mode. The regulatory documentation related to the normative indicators of illumination as well as the typical area of premises is analyzed, and on the basis of the listed data, the calculation of the minimum required luminous flux emitted by lamps is made. The normalized calculated luminous flux was divided by the luminous flux from one lamp, with the resulting ratio rounded up. This ratio is the approximate number of lamps. This number of lamps will enable to calculate the total current of the entire lighting network. The standard rates for the operating time of the lighting network are taken into account. The operating time of the lighting network in the "standby" mode is the difference between the total number of hours per day and the standard operating time of the lighting network.Knowing the power consumption and the network operation time in the "standby" mode, we can calculate the power consumption of the lighting network in the "standby" mode.

A novel technique for sensorless speed estimation is presented in this thesis for squirrel cage induction machine (SCIM) drived long-term flywheel energy storage system (FESS) in standby mode. The SCIM model for long-term large-capacity FESS is presented. Based on dynamic model , a hybrid rotor flux observer and speed observer are derived. The hybrid rotor flux observer takes advantages of both the current model and voltage model flux observers by seamlessly incorporating these two models together for a better flux estimation performance even at low speed range. The fundamental speed observer is derived from the dynamic model for speed estimation with a fast response time for a tradeoff of the adaptive capabilities. In order to observe the speed in standby mode, a modified field-oriented control (FOC) scheme is presented. The hybrid flux observer and speed observer are tested in association with the modified FOC. The proposed control technique adopts approaches in an effort to minimize the impact generated by the excitation and speed estimation process to the FESS. Simulation and experiments are conducted to verify the feasibility of the proposed speed estimation at the standby mode. It is also observed that a step change of excitation current has a significant impact to the existing FESS. A ramp control for excitation current is added to avoid the possible oscillation of the estimated speed and the disturbance to the FESS. The speed estimation settling time is optimized based on the experiment and simulation.

Abstract: All through the life-cycle of a standby system, it is verychallenging to keep a standby unit workable. It may be fatalif the standby found non-workablewhen needed. This paper evaluates the performance of a standby systemworking under two primary constraintsby underlining the condition of the spare unit in standby mode. The first constraint is the maximum redundancy time for the standby and the second is maximum operation time for the operating unit. The standby unit failson exceeding the maximum time threshold andthereafterthe decision about its repair/replacement is subjected tothe inspection. While after surpassing the maximum operating time limit preventive maintenance is carried outfor the operating unit.To study the long-run performance or life-cycle of the system various performance indices have been analyzed usingthe theory of discrete-state continuous-time semi-Markov regenerative processes.Exponential, Rayleigh and Weibull probability distributions are used to study the system performance numerically.

Whole-brain resting-state functional MRI (rs-fMRI) during 2 wk of upper-limb casting revealed that disused motor regions became more strongly connected to the cingulo-opercular network (CON), an executive control network that includes regions of the dorsal anterior cingulate cortex (dACC) and insula. Disuse-driven increases in functional connectivity (FC) were specific to the CON and somatomotor networks and did not involve any other networks, such as the salience, frontoparietal, or default mode networks. Censoring and modeling analyses showed that FC increases during casting were mediated by large, spontaneous activity pulses that appeared in the disused motor regions and CON control regions. During limb constraint, disused motor circuits appear to enter a standby mode characterized by spontaneous activity pulses and strengthened connectivity to CON executive control regions.

Abstract A novel approach called Keeper in LEakage Control Transistor (KLECTOR) is presented in this paper to reduce leakage currents in SRAM architecture. The SRAM is significantly affected by the leakage current during the "standby mode", which is caused by the fabric which has a lower threshold voltage. KLECTOR circuit employs less power consumption by restricting the flow of current through devices of less voltage drops and relies heavily on the self-controlled transistor at the output node. It has been found from the presented results that static (leakage) power in the write operation is reduced to 63% and 69 % for the read operation. This proposed approach is designed and simulated using the Virtuoso, Cadence EDA tool.
